- Children Forced to Kill: Handles Weepers better than many of the other students, mostly because of her apathy.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Played with. Implied her grades could be way higher if she.. actually cared.
- Ordinary High-School Student: Mostly, ignoring her alcoholism and.. night life.
- Parental Abandonment: Literally in her mother's case, by way of suicide with her father.
- Sliding Scale of Silliness vs. Seriousness: Leave it to Chiaki to snark in the middle of a crisis.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Chiaki's been drinking heavily and having one-night-stands since she was thirteen.

- Batter Up! : When we first see her she takes a metal baseball bat for a weapon. Proceeds to bash a possessed human with it.
- Berserk Button : She's highly protective of the people close to her, and it's unpleasant if she catches you harming them in any way.
- Dark and Troubled Past : Part of the reason for her ... personality problems.
- Improbable Weapon User : It's stated that she can use pretty much everything as a weapon.
- In-Series Nickname : Cecil calls her "Winnie." She'd rather be called Freddie, though. Everyone else calls her Freddie, though.
- Little Miss Badass : Within her first five minutes of appearance, she smashed a possessed teacher with a baseball bat, kicked him to the ground, and stabbed him. She was never an ascendant, so she's a Badass Normal as well.
- Really 700 Years Old : Despite not being an Ascendant, she has the same lifespan as one. She looks like a loli.
- Sweet Tooth : She has a thing for Japanese sweets especially.
- Tsundere : The only one who gets to see her kinder side is Cecil, so she's a type A.

- Immortality: Toss up between Type I and Type III. Way sturdier than even the sturdiest of Ascendants.
- Older Than They Look: Several hundreds of thousands of years older.
- Really 700 Years Old: Her exact age is unknown, but she's really, really old.
