Heroes
Tallis
The lead character of Dragon Age: Redemption, Tallis is an Elven member Qunari and a former member of the Ben-Hassrath. At the start of the series, she is assigned a new mission to retrieve The Saarebas, and should she succeed, she'll be allowed to rejoin the Ben-Hassrath.
- Enemy Mine: With Cairn, the two deciding to team up to take down the Saarebas, then kill each other to see who gets him.
- Made a Slave: Before joining the Qun, Tallis was Tevinter slave who was freed by the Qunari. Making matters worse, her parents were the ones who sold her.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: A like all Qunari, Tallis isn't a name, it's her job/title/rank.
- Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: How she lost her job as a Ben-Hassrath. She discovered a nobleman she'd been sent to steal an artifact from was also dealing in young girls as well as antiquities. They never found all the pieces of his body. Sadly, since she was supposed to maintain a low profile, her superiors demoted her.
Cairn
A Templar of the Chantry, Cairn is on mission from the Templars to track down and capture the Saarebas after the mage escaped from a Chantry prison. Except there is no mission. In reality, Cairn hunts the Saarebas because the mage slaughtered his family shortly after being found. Furthermore, Cairn accidentally freed the Saarebas from the Chantry prison during his first attempt.
- Anti-Magic: Like all Templars, Cairn is able to disrupt magic.
- Enemy Mine: See Tallis.
- Knight Templar: The moment Joshmael reveals he's a mage, Cairn insists on arresting him as an Apostate.
- Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me
Josmael
The Second to the Keeper of a Dalish Clan attacked by the Saarebas. He joins the group in order to retrieve an artifact the Saarebas stole, and rescue his fiancée, who was also kidnapped.
- An Ice Person: Knowns the Winter's Grasp spell.
- The Medic: When trying to convince Tallis and Cairn to let him join them, he specifically mentions knowing healing magic.
- Too Dumb to Live: You'd have to be pretty stupid to tell a Templar of all people that you're a mage.
- Wide-Eyed Idealist
Nyree
A Reaver that was held in the same Chantry prison as the Saarebas, Nyree was originally working for the renegade Qunari when she met our heroes. However, then the mage decided to backstab her and Tallis offered to hire her to help them capture him.
- The Berserker
- The Big Gal: The physically strongest of the group.
- Blood Knight
- Punch-Clock Hero: She's only fighting the Saarebas because she's getting paid to.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: A sign she's activated her Reaver abilities.
Others
The Saarebas
A Qunari Mage who, after surviving a Qunari shipwreck and being captured by the Chantry, broke out of their prison, and with the aid of barbarians and bandits, attacked a Dalish camp. From there, he stole an artifact called the Mask of Fen'Harel, which he seems to have plans for...
- Blood Magic
- Meaningful Name: Saarebas literally means 'Dangerous Thing' in Qunlat, and this guy lives up to it. Played with, however, as this is his title (and the title for all Qunari mages) but he embraces it.
- Then Let Me Be Evil: During his motive rant, the Saarebas makes it clear that he sees everything he does as following his duty under the Qun. And since that duty is to be dangerous, then he must do dangerous things.
- Unskilled, but Strong: Saarebas are never taught how to use their magic for anything besides combat, but he's very good at it.
