Kade:

The main male character and protagonist, he is an anti-social, introverted loner who mostly enjoys music, video games and working at "Spenders". He is still trying to move on from his relationship with Delilah, the relationship ending having been the main cause for him retreating into himself. He begins to open up to others again thanks to Zaida's influence.

  • Broken Bird: Breaking up with Delilah really messed him up emotionally. Zaida is slowly getting him to break back out of his shell.

  • Cannot Spit It Out: The entire time at the amusement park Kade struggles inwardly with finally admiting his feelings to Zaida, especially afraid of ruining the close friendship they've developed.

  • Can't Act Perverted Toward a Love Interest: Kade has to constantly restrain himself from doing anything "inappropriate" to Zaida, despite his clear attraction to her.

  • Death Glare: Kade is a master at this. He frequently gives them to Stace (who is always unfazed) or anyone that makes Zay uncomfortable or so much as touches her.

  • The First Cut Is the Deepest: Kade is still hung up hard on Delilah, unable to emotionally open up to people which has caused difficulties in all his relationships after Delilah.

  • Introverted Cat Person: Is quite the introvert and has an adorable cat named Cosmo.

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Mostly treats people coldly or acts standoffish but is actually a really caring person as seen with his interactions with Zaida.

  • Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: Kade dated many, many girls after Delilah all of them ending quite badly do to his emotional distance and seeming disinterest.

  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Normally comes off as cold to others, but is actually quite caring and slowly begins to widen his circle of friends thanks to Zaida.

Zaida:

The main female character and deuteragonist. She comes from the planet Zodia whose people look very similar to humans. She wishes to be an earthling, but has to learn a lot before she can do that. Innocent and good-natured she slowly gets Kade to open up again, and starts to develop feelings for him.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Zaida hasn't revealed much about her life in Zoida, except that she doesn't have a lot of happy memories of her time there. After she returns home after a disastrous date with Stace where he freaked out after she revealed her horns and telekinesis, she tells Kade what motivated her to escape. She tells Kade that not only was she kept locked up in her house so that the crystals that grow on her horns could be harvested for some unknown reason, but she wasn't allowed to go outside unescorted, wasn't allowed to make friends, and wasn't even allowed to use her levitation powers, which is a common feature for zoidans. Every time she asked a question about the outside world, she was told to focus on her studies and not think about the outside world. What little freedom she had in her house came in the form of some toys and a window in her room, which would be taken away if she disobeyed, and her window would be sealed so she couldn't see the outside world.

  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: While it's her hair that's green, Zay is still an alien and 100% adorable.

  • Hartman Hips: Has a "pear" shaped figure with a small bust and wide hips.

  • Morality Pet: For Kade. It's her influence that helps him break back out of his shell. He is also fiercely protective of her.

  • I Just Want to Be Normal: She simply wants to be a normal Earthling, and forget about her past on Zodia.

  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Has no qualms changing in front of Kade, and often wears adorable outfits that Kade gets from Spenders.

  • The Heart: The most innocent of the central characters who honestly holds the group together by simply being a certified cinnamon roll. She also helps both Kade and Suzy with their own emotional issues.

  • Living Emotional Crutch: For Kade, he is noticeably more social and not as cold whenever she is around.

  • Older Than They Look: Is about twenty years old, but looks like a teenager.

  • The Pollyanna: Is always happy and full of enthusiasm for learning more about Earth. Is averted a little and played with due to the psychological abuse she suffered on Zodia and the guilt she feels for possibly dooming the people back on Zodia.

  • Stepford Smiler: While she is genuinely overjoyed to be on Earth, she also still struggles inwardly from her past on Zodia. She tells Kade that she had been hidden away and separated from everyone. Those who looked after her fed her many contradictory statements. This included saying that if she left Zodia the people would be doomed, and she feels immensely guilty because of it.

Ethan:

A high-school student who is a huge fan of aliens. He is one of the first to discover Zaida is an alien. He agrees to keep her secret and becomes one of Kade and Zaida's friends.

Suzy:

A model with vitiligo who works for Spender's and also works at the same store as Kade. Though her and Kade have an awkward first interaction she later befriends both him and Zaida after she accidentally discovers Zaida is an alien.

  • Coming-Out Story: After Zaida asks of there's a "Kade" in her life, Suzy admits that she's only attracted to women, much to the surprised curiosity of Zeida. However, Suzy tells Zeida that finding out she was a lesbian was a painful experience, as her conservative Christian parents practically disowned her and she was forced to leave their house. It would be years when she finally had some contact with her family, in the form of her twin sister finally tracking her down and telling her that she disagrees with their parents, and fully supports Suzy, and wants to stay in contact.

  • Lipstick Lesbian: She dresses femininely and is a successful model, and has only ever dated girls. She eventually reveals this to Zaida who reacts with her usual curiosity.

Stace:

Kade's Manager at Spender's, he is really good at his job. Not as good at making friends though. He tries to encourage Kade to be friendlier to customers and also seems to want to be friends with him.

  • Foil: With Kade. Stace is quite friendly with people and is really good at interacting with customers but not so good at making friends. Kade is anti-social and acts cold at times but has slowly gained new friends thanks to Zay.

  • Freudian Excuse: His antisocial tendencies stems from being raised by his tough as nails father who tried his best to raise him in abject poverty, possibly even being homeless. While attending school, Stace's dirty patched up clothes made him the target of invasive questions from the other students, and was even ridicule for his lack of hygiene.

  • Gender-Blender Name: Stace, possibly short for Stacey...proven right when Delilah straight up calls him Stacey in one chapter.

  • The Gadfly: Loves annoying Kade, teasing him constantly and always seeming to forget his name (which he obviosuly knows).

  • The Rival: Again with Kade. Both of them have feelings for Zaida, though Stace keeps wondering if Kade and Zaida are together or not.

Cherri:

An old "Friend" of Kade's from High School who works as a make-up artist for Spender's.

  • Early-Bird Cameo: Appears in a flashaback of Kade's high school days well before she shows up in the main story almost out of nowhere.

  • Genre Savvy: Right away picks up on Kade's feelings for Zaida, though it's not hard since Everyone Can See It.

  • The Gadfly: Throws Stace under the bus hard when she mentions the first outfit he chose for Zaida was lingerie. Mostly just to see Kade's reaction, and confirm his feelings for Zaida.

Delilah:

Kade's ex-girlfriend and first love who Ellie introduced to him. She and Zaida look almost identical, though with notable differences. When they broke up Kade was devastated.

  • All Take and No Give: Is shown when Kade tries to show a 'Happy' memory of Delilah to Zaida that Delilah was very needy and manipulative to Kade who did so much for her.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Shows shades of this towards Kade, even still calling him "My Kade" when told Zaida is friends with him. Notably in Kade's memories it appears that she forced him to cut contact with his friends and family.

  • The One That Got Away: She was Kade's first real love, and he was completely shattered when they broke up. Zaida begins to help him finally properly grieve and move on.
