Doge

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/47_471907_doge_full_smiling_doge_png_2.png

The titular memetic dog, who reports "Doge News" and is on a quest to fulfill his late father's last wish.

  • Badass Adorable: A cute and friendly Shiba Inu whose willing to square off with evil forces to protect his friends.
  • Big Friendly Dog: Obviously, and he's usually quite a nice fellow.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Upon meeting his father again in episode 25, he tells him he probably should hate him for leaving him alone all those years ago, claiming he only ever wanted his dad to be with him.
  • Fatal Flaw: Doge's stubborn determination to see things through as the leader gets him and his crew into dangerous situations and almost gets them killed in his fit of angry revenge against Stuart.
  • Intrepid Reporter: Downplayed, as his heroic antics have nothing to do with his activity giving the news.
  • Kent Brockman News: A sort of parody of the concept.
  • The Good Captain: He does try to be this, even if the situation pushes him to make some reckless decisions.
  • Jerkass Ball: After just narrowly escaping Stuart's ship, Doge decides to give up on everything and flee far away where they can't be found. He overrules and angrily argues with the crew for wanting to stay and fight, even insulting Space-Balls after the latter's death.
  • Nice Guy: He's compassionate and protective of his friends, as well as very caring about human rights as seen by his "Doge News" segments.
  • Rage Breaking Point:When Stuart, whose been hounding them for days, destroys his father's ashes out of spite, Doge loses himself in fury and tries to kill Stuart by firing all of the ship's weapons on him, uncaring that the sheer power will overload and kill him and his friends as well.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: He sorely missed his dad in childhood, and now just wants to carry out his last request to make up for the time lost.

    Zeemz

Zeemz

Doge's main friend and the ship's mechanic.

  • Alien Animals: He's basically the Cheems dog but for some odd reason, is green while his family isn't.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: As mentioned above, his fur is bright green.
  • Happily Adopted: He's Murphy's adopted son and Rusty's adopted brother.
  • The Engineer: Serves as this along with Wheatley.
  • The Lancer: He's the first member of Doge's team and the one who does the most on the ship.
  • Nice Guy: He's devoted to doing the right thing and tries to steer Doge in the right direction.
  • The Smart Guy: He's very good with engineering and reconfigures the ship to have a defense system.
  • Speech Impediment: He pronounces "M" in most of his words.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He doesn't hold back when telling off Doge for making the wrong choice. When Doge decides to abandon the galaxy to be conquered by Stuart, Zeemz is livid.

    Rei Ayanami

Rei Ayanami

The famed blue haired EVA pilot, who survived the events of Third Impact and joined Doge on his adventures.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Rei is slightly more sociable and encouraging than she was in her origin series.
  • It's All My Fault: Rei feels incredible guilt, both for Third Impact and the trouble she's brought Doge and company.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Just touching this girl can reduce you to LCL. And she could potentially recreate Third Impact if Stuart is to be believed.

    Wheatley

Wheatley

The devious blue core has been found by Doge along with Space-Core and joins the crew.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He doesn't seem to be the scheming, idiotically destructive machine he was at Aperture. Being stranded in space for so long must've given him a lot of time to reflect.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: His main purpose along with "Space-Balls" is to provide quirky humor.
  • The Smart Guy: He helps Zeemz configure the Ship's new defense system.
  • Sad Clown: Wheatley is implied to be still shaken by what went down at Aperture despite his goofy attitude. When Space-Core dies, he screams in anguish and attacks Doge for insulting his dead friend.

    Space-Balls/Space-Core

Space-Balls

The hyperactive personality core obsessed with space. Rescued from space itself along with Wheatley
  • Affectionate Nickname: Rei and Zeemz name him "Space-Balls" because of his cheerful love of space.
  • Character Death: Space-Core is obliterated by King Stuart, the first of the group to die.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Possibly. He flies directly in front of Stuart's ship and is destroyed in one blast, buying his friends just enough time to flee.
  • Hidden Depths: Space-Balls is moved by Doge's story of his father, and seems to be trying to comfort him when he's alone with his thoughts.
  • Keet He's the most cheery of the crew. Spaaace!
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Serves as this along with Wheatley.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: After he dies in episode 24, things turn very grim.

    Pen-Pen

The Rat Kingdom

     King Stuart

King Stuart

The sociopathic, power-hungry ruler of the Rat Kingdom.
  • Adaptational Villainy: His model is the heroic mouse of the movie, but other than that he has nothing in common, least of all "heroic."
  • Bad Boss: Has no problem threatening and killing his subordinates should they fail him, and casually abandons Thomas to die despite his loyalty.
  • Big Bad: King Stuart rules the Rat Kingdom with an iron fist and wants "the Spawn of Lilith" so he can initiate his own Third Impact on the rest of the cosmos.
  • Cute Is Evil: He's Stuart Little, after all.
  • Evil Brit: His text-to-voice has a british accent.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He can be quite chummy, but beneath any charm he's a murderous, twisted monster.
  • Galactic Conqueror: Took over the Rat Kingdom planet from it's native inhabitants(the Chungi) and is planning to expand to the rest of the universe.
  • Kick the Dog: Stuart steals the ashes of Doge's father Spaceman Stan and smashes them in front of him, which drives Doge into a borderline suicidal rage.
  • The Napoleon: Stuart is a small mouse with a huge ego and megalomaniacal aspirations.
  • Lack of Empathy: He has no remorse whatsoever for his various atrocities and cares for nothing and nobody but himself.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: The rest of the Rat Kingdom reveres him as a savior who promised them "the american dream" as long as they follow him. He tells Rei they don't really understand his megalomaniacal plans.

     Big Chungus

     Thomas

Thomas

One of the many rats who serve under King Stuart.
  • Fantastic Racism: Repeatedly calls Doge a "dirty mutt", although Doge himself gives the rats similar treatment.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: After being left to die by Chungus and Stuart, Thomas joins Doge's crew to get revenge.
  • Mook–Face Turn: He realizes what a tyrant his boss is and decides to "fight on the right side of history."
  • Rodents of Unusual Size: Thomas and the others are large rats, ironically serving a comparatively small mouse.
  • You Dirty Rat!: He and his fellow rats are the main antagonistic force, although he eventually stops being a villain.
