A subject and tributary-empire of the Holy Britannian Empire that is at war with the EU. In R2, they declare independence and continue to wage war on the EU.

    In General
  • Chaos Is Evil: Euro-Britannia seems to have this view as opposed to Britannia's Might Makes Right The Social Darwinist views; as they seem to be more interested in maintaining order over dominating their opposition. Steeljaw appeals to this attitude by painting the Decepticons as keepers of order, and the Black Knights and Autobots as agents of chaos to secure an alliance. Even then, Euro-Britannia still has reservations about said alliance.
  • Liberty Over Prosperity: Euro-Britannia's conflict with Europia United leans toward this rather than Britannia's standard empire building. The Euro-Britannians actually want to advance Europe for the benefit of everyone, but under their authority.
  • The Remnant: Euro-Britannia is the last remaining independent Britannian force by the beginning of R2, the rest having been wiped out by the Decepticons. Until The Brightness Falls when Steeljaw takes control after killing the entire House of Lords and taking the rest of government hostage.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Implied, but aside from Jean Rowe, the only Euro-Britannian forces confirmed to be female are not natives of the state, but the personal forces of Princess Marrybell mel Britannia, as opposed to the main Britannia military, which had female forces just about everywhere.

Leadership

Augusta Henry Highland / Grand Duke Velaines

Augusta Henry Highland / Grand Duke Velaines

"If I have to negotiate with those that were once considered Britannia's enemies, I will do it."
A Britannian noble that oversees Euro-Britannia, the European territories of Britannia.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Rise of the Decepticons when Megatron broadcasts his speech to the world.
  • Good Counterpart: To Charles zi Britannia. While they are both rulers who are attempting to conquer other nations, Charles was a firm believer in the strong dominating the weak and turned conquered nations into Areas with the citizens being reduced to Numbers. Highland makes it a point to avoid civilian casualties whenever possible, and outright avoids the Area and Number systems.
  • The Mole: Euphemia is able to convince him to lend his support to the Autobot-Black Knight Alliance; which he does from behind the backs of the other leaders of Euro-Britannia.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Accepts the explanation that Euphemia was framed for the SAZ Massacre, and is willing to work something out with the Black Knights.
  • You Are in Command Now: As Lelouch, Nunnally, Cornelia, Euphemia, Rai, and Marrybelle have all renounced their royal status, along with Schniezel betraying Britannia, as well as Odysseus, Guinevere, Carine, Laila, and Anticlea being held prisoner, Pollux, Castor, and Victoria being killed by Grimlock and Airachnid respectively, and Marianne hiding in Anya's body, this makes him for all intents and purposes the de facto leader of what remains of Britannia.

Knightly Grandmasters

    Michele Manfredi

Michele Manfredi

"Our cause is a righteous one, and I believe the Decepticons will be brought down by the blade of justice."
The Grandmaster of the Knights of St. Michael.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Rise of the Decepticons when Megatron broadcasts his victory speech.
  • The Idealist: As his above quote shows, he seemed convinced that "the blade of justice" would defeat the Decepticons, and that Euro-Britannia could lead the world into a better future.
  • Psychic-Assisted Suicide: As in canon, he's Geassed by Shin into slitting his throat with his sword.
  • Retired Badass: He once served as the Knight of Two.
  • True Companions: Saw his subordinate and future successor, Shin, as a brother.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Like in canon, he doesn't have much time to shine before he's killed.

    Andrea Farnese

Andrea Farnese

The Grandmaster of the Knights of St. Raphael.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Rise of the Decepticons when Megatron broadcasts his victory speech.
  • Sole Survivor: Is the last of the four Grandmasters still alive after the Gallia Grande's destruction.

    Gaudefroy du Villon

Gaudefroy du Villon

Primary Knightmare: Taurus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gaudefroy_du_villon.jpg
"Those wretched Decepticons dare to come here?! After everything they've done...!"
The Grandmaster of the Knights of St. Gabriel.
  • Ascended Extra: Compared to canon, he actually gets something to do in the story. Even if he isn't in control of himself at the time.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Is subjected to Shin's Geass and made to fight the Autobots-Black Knights.
  • The Big Guy: Is the tallest and most physically imposing of the Grandmasters. This extends to his Knightmare, the Taurus.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Rise of the Decepticons when Megatron broadcasts his victory speech.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: He was killed in canon when Shin decapitated him. In the fic, he dies fighting Sideswipe, Ryo, and Elita-One, with the latter delivering the killing blow.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He's as against sending Euro-Britannian forces against civilian targets as Velaines.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's quick to speak his mind when angered, such as calling out the Decepticons for their actions against Britannia.
  • Shoulder Cannon: The Taurus has shoulder-mounted missile launchers.

    Raymond du Saint-Gilles

Raymond du Saint-Gilles

Primary Knightmare: Icarus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raymond_9.jpg
The Grandmaster of the Knights of St. Uriel.
  • Ascended Extra: Like Gaudefroy, he actually gets to fight, even though he doesn't survive.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Is subjected to Shin's Geass and made to fight the Autobots-Black Knights.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Rise of the Decepticons when Megatron broadcasts his victory speech.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: He died in canon when Shin decapitated him. In the fic, he's killed fighting Kallen, Arcee, Strongarm, and Ayano, with Arcee being the one to finish him.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: He's killed when Arcee slices his Knightmare's cockpit in half.
  • Old Soldier: He's the oldest of the Grandmasters, but still capable of holding his own (for a time) against the Autobots and their allies.

Soldiers

    Shin Hyūga Shaing

Shin Hyūga Shaing

Primary Knightmare: Vercingetorix, Thanatos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shin_hyga_shaing.png
"The human race has done nothing but bring pain and misery to itself, they fight and betray one another for the most pitiful of reasons. They are all parasites, and I wish to see them exterminated. Down to the last child."
One of Euro-Britannia's Knights of St. Michael, and the older brother of Akito Hyūga.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: In canon, Shin's Geass is the ability to make those he loves kill themselves or others. Here, thanks to learning more about Geass from Steeljaw, Shin expands his Geass' ability and can now force anyone to kill themselves as well turn them into mindless berserkers on purpose instead of by accident like with Akito. His contract with Beleth in Valley of Kings and Titans gives him a Dark Geass that is a near-identical copy of Megatron's Dark Geass of Absolute Terror.
  • Adaptational Villainy: His actions, misanthropy, and willingness to align with the Decepticons heavily imply that, in this universe, his violent and homicidal nature isn't a product of believing that life is suffering and death brings peace, but of actual malice, hatred, and spite against the world. Additionally, there's no indication that Beleth brainwashed Shin when giving him his Geass.
  • Ax-Crazy: He hides it beneath a veneer of calm and politeness, but Steeljaw was able to pick up on his love of destruction.
  • Cyborg: After being seriously injured in the destruction of Castle Weisswolf, Shin is turned into a cyborg powered by Dark Energon by Shockwave.
  • Death Seeker: Implied. In Valley of Kings and Titans, Akito calls him one, because of how he sees nothing but pain and suffering in the world, and thus he doesn't want to live in it.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Akito being immune to his Geass takes him completely off guard. Cera sealing his Geass also takes him by surprise.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: In Valley of Kings and Titans, Akito tells him that he pities him because of how he sees nothing but suffering in the world. Shin not only takes offense to it, but he also doesn't understand why his brother pities him even after everything he's done.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: He does not understand why his brother pities him, even after he's tried to kill him and his friends.
  • Facial Horror: Near the end of A United Front Facing The Dark Horizon he barely survives the collapse of Castle Weisswolf, at the cost of half his face.
  • Foil: To Suzaku, as brought up in the story. Both of them are Japanese by birth who killed their fathers and later rose through the ranks of the Britannian military. Shin on the other faced almost no discrimination due to Euro-Britannia being far kinder to the Numbers than the main Empire, while Suzaku got the full blast of it in the regular Britannian forces. Shin also used murder and sabotage to rise while Suzaku tried to do it honorably despite the deck being stacked against him. Finally, Shin is deeply sociopathic and desires the destruction of the world, while Suzaku, despite his initial misguided goals, wants to make the world a better place for people.
  • For the Evulz: He doesn't appear to have any rational reason to wanting for his cruelty. He is an Omnicidal Maniac that wants to see the end of the world and loves to make those around him, specially Akito, suffer for his own amusement.
  • Hate Sink: This guy manages to earn of the ultimate example of this, and it's a lot to say in a story with villains like Airachnid and Luciano Bradley. Just look at some example of his actions at this page.
  • Haunting the Guilty: During the Final Battle, he hallucinates seeing the ghosts of all of the people he killed with his Geass, from his parents, to his adoptive family, and even Michele Manfredi looking at him with disappointment in their eyes. He shouts at them to leave him alone as he charges at his brother Akito.
  • Kick the Dog: How does he respond to Jean's Love Confession? By shouting at her to die right before he tries to kill her himself.
  • Last of His Kind: By the finale of R2, he's the only human member of the Decepticons still standing, as Suzaku defected at the end of R1 while Schneizel and Kanon were killed when Megatron retook control of the group. He ends up biting it in the Final Battle, with the Decepticons ceasing to exist shortly afterwards.
  • Mirror Character: To Beleth. Much like the Dark Geass creator, he is a purely evil and spiteful man who is the brother of a kind and genuinely good person, Akito/Yeowah. No wonder the malicious code bearer reached out to him to upgrade his Geass abilities.
  • Off with His Head!: Akito ultimately kills him by cutting his head off in the final battle.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: It's his desire to see the world destroyed that makes Steeljaw see him as a perfect fit for the Decepticons.
  • The Power of Hate: During the Siege of Castle Weisswolf, his rage and malice was enough to break Cera's seal over his Geass, causing two Geass sigils to manifest over both his eyes.
  • Practically Joker:
  • Psychic-Assisted Suicide: His Geass allows him to perform this when making eye contact. He does this at the end of his first appearance to take control of the Knights of St. Michael.
  • Rank Up: After Manfredi's 'suicide', he's promoted to Grandmaster of St. Michael.
  • Taking You with Me: Akito in Valley of Kings and Titans implies that he wants to do this with the rest of the world. Believing that doing so will end their suffering.
  • Villain Team-Up: Aside from being the only one who seems okay with allying with the Decepticons, he quickly develops a rapport with Steeljaw, who recognizes his obsession with death.
  • Viler New Villain: He's the most unhinged and repugnant of the human members of the Decepticons, having an obsession with death and suffering that extends all the way to omnicide hatred of mankind. Fittingly, he's the last human member of the group by the time of R2's finale, as his hatred of mankind makes him willing to align with Megatron to enslave his own species via the Neo-Ragnarök Connection.

    Jean Rowe

Jean/Jeanette Rowe

Primary Knightmare: Gracchus, RPI-321 Aglovale

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jean_lowe.jpg
"Say one more word of Lord Hyuga! I dare you...!"
Shin's personal Knight. After realizing Shin's true intentions, she is brought over the Autobot/Black Knight alliance, where she becomes part of the Crimson Knights unit.
  • Ace Custom: Her Knightmare, the Gracchus, is a custom Knightmare that lost out to the Gloucester as a successor to the Sutherland. In Red Triage, it's upgraded to the Aglovale.
  • Ace Pilot: She's able to hold her own against Suzaku's more advanced Lancelot Albion in her Gracchus.
  • Berserk Button: Anyone speaking ill of Shin is guaranteed to get Jean angry, to the point that she backhands Shirley with her gun.
  • Commonality Connection: Shirley finds her relationship with leaders as a way to connect with Jean and bring her over.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Even Jean was horrified when she hears Shin's desire of eliminating humanity.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After being confronted over love by Shirley, and being attacked by Shin, the Alliance brings her onboard since she can't serve her old ways anymore.
  • I Owe You My Life: Her initial justification for working under Shin who took her off the streets.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Serves Shin without question or hesitation, even after he helps the Decepticons conquer the country. She drops this with her defection to the Black Knights thanks to Shirley.
  • Number Two: Served directly under Shin.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: She survives the Siege of Castle Weisswolf and is brought to Horai Island by Lelouch.
  • The Straight Man: Or woman in this case. After her Heel–Face Turn, she acts as this to Ashley's Wise Guy.

    The Swordmasters

Swordmasters Brondello, Doré, and Scholtz

Primary Knightmare: Gloucester Swordmen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sword_masters_of_st_michael.png
Three high-ranked members of the Knights of St. Michael, charged with leading ground troops.
  • Elite Mooks: Are ranked above the common grunts in the army.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As Scholtz and Doré pointed out to Airachnid in The Origin of Geass, they refuse to sacrifice anymore of their own men in an honorless battle just to absolve a vendetta.

    Ashley Ashra

Ashley Ashra

Primary Knightmare: Gloucester, Dagonet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1035083_1200_7.jpg
"You want to know the one thing that's crucial to survival on the battlefield? It's luck."
A soldier in the Knights of St. Michael, and leader of the Asura Strike Force. After he and his unit defect to the Autobot/Black Knight alliance, he becomes second-in-command to Marrybell in the Crimson Knights unit.

    Asura Strike Force

Johanne Fabius, Rene Laurent, Jan Manes, Simon Mericourt, Kuzan Montoban, Alan Necker, and Franz Vallo

Primary Knightmares: Gloucesters

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pict488.jpg
Ashley and his team

  • Death by Adaptation: Jan Manes, Simon Mericourt, and Rene Laurent are killed with Johanne during the Battle of Slonim. Kuzan Montoban, Alan Necker, and Franz Vallo are later confirmed to be killed after the Damocles' assault.
  • Defector from Decadence: They and Ashley disappear with the Glinda Knights following the Decepticon takeover. The next chapter reveals that they teamed up with the Black Knights to help liberate Euro-Britannia.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: As in canon, Johanne perishes during the Battle of Slonim following Ashley and the Asura Force's introduction into the story (all of which happens in one chapter). Rene, Jan, and Simon end up joining him thanks to Death by Adaptation, as of Kuzan, Alan, and Franz in The Demon and Dragon Cometh.

Civilians

    Alice Shaing

Alice Shaing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alice_shing_2.jpg
