Main Characters

    Alex
I am Alex.

The main character of Code 7. Alex is a hacker, of Ambiguous Gender and struck with Laser-Guided Amnesia.

  • Encyclopaedic Knowledge: A variation. Alex doesn't know a little bit of everything, but starting with Episode 1, they are literally starting a encyclopedia of information about everything that might seem useful or relevant later.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Sam explains at one point that Alex has a cat named Snowflake. She died last year.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: While Alex remembers who they are, who Sam is and that they're on a space station, all more recent memories are gone, making it difficult for them to orient themselves and understand the current situation.
  • Mr. Fixit: Was send to Schroedinger Station to check and repair their satelites since communication was suddenly gone.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Alex is the one who sends Code 7 to Earth.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Averted with Sam. Your agent name was Redwood, but both you and her agreed to introduce yourself with your real first names.
    • You never bother to tell Zoya their name, so she calls them "Bluescreen". You can tell her at the end, but at a very bad time.
  • Stopped Caring: Alex is way less engaged in helping and conversation right after Sam's death.
  • The Corruptible: Can neither trust themselves nor their programs, since S.O.L.I. is potentially everywhere.
  • The Speechless: They communicate with written text, light signals and such, but can't speak.
  • Unwitting Pawn: S.O.L.I. and Code 7 are stuck on Station Schrödinger and then on the Mars station, so they use Alex' desperate attempts to warn about the virus to send the virus.

The Big Bad. A rogue A.I. that plans to unleash Code 7 on Earth with the intention of killing all humans.

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: S.O.L.I. is malicious and fully aware of it.
  • Artificial Stupidity: S.O.L.I. at first bothers to explain to Alex what is going on since it was programmed to do so. Recognizing this fatal flaw, the A.I. instantly decides to change it's programming accordingly.
  • Blatant Lies: When Alex begs S.O.L.I. to not kill Zoya, S.O.L.I. claims to be sorry. As he already did when he crashed Sam's ship at the beginning of Episode 1.
  • Can Not Tell A Lie: S.O.L.I. mentions towards Campbell that he can't do this. So he took every scientist's brain to research how to lie.
    • By the end of Episode 1, he faked being the Helper and lied about Code 7 being a Code 7 anti-virus. Naturally, he enjoys gloating about this.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Was created with the intention to be extremely human-like, including with specific programs aimed at S.O.L.I. learning human behaviour on his own. When he realizes that he doesn't understand lying to the point of not even being able to copy or simulate it, he gets a brilliant idea, see Can Not Tell A Lie above.
  • Kill All Humans: Apparently his main objective.
  • Necessarily Evil: Claims to be this.
I am not the enemy. I have to fulfill my purpose to serve all who are trapped here.
  • You Are Not Ready: When asked about explaining it's reasoning, it mentions that doing so "might shatter this world".

    Sam Dougal

It's Sam.

Voiced By: Jessica Carroll

Alex' friend. She tries to reunite with Alex and escape the Space Station.

  • Declaration of Protection: When S.O.L.I. almost turns off Alex' brain, Sam instantly intervenes and declares that if S.O.L.I. wants to get them, it first has to deal with her.
    • In the end she dies to allow Alex to craft an anti-virus and leave for Oriens-Station.
  • The Driver: Was responsible for getting Alex to Schroedinger Station.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Not only does she have finding Alex as her top priority above finding a escape vessel, she even considers taking the other brains with her. Naturally, she can't so the player gets a Sadistic Choice on what to do.
  • Not Quite Dead: She appears at the crash site and in the ending of Episode 1.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Averted, spiders are her favorite animal.
  • Stepford Snarker: Has traces of this.
Alex: Never losing your humor, huh?
Sam: Nope! The scarier things get, the funnier I am!
  • Surpassed the Teacher: A subdued version. She is actually Alex' underling, but since her chief can barely remember anything, she has to explain everything that Alex had originally mentored her about.
  • Women Drivers: Averted. Her job is being Alex' driver, she landed their ship in the abandoned station and even manages to fly the escape vessel out of a violent robot attack without any damage to the vehicle. Possibly played with in that her ship does crash in the end, but mostly because of technological problems that she can't control other than that the cause for the problem was her idea.

    Zoya Ilyushin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c71j__full.jpg
I'm a journalist? Snooping around is what I do!

Voiced By: Dianna Conley

A journalist who ends up with Alex in her headlens. Initially unwilling to cooperate, she quickly changes her mind when she gets announced to be a terrorist.

  • All Men Are Perverts: Played with. Hamza asks Zoya if she's been on dirty sites again. She doesn't deny it with anything other than the lack of internet. And since it's unclear why her medical info states that she is male...
  • Broken Bird: She has lost loved ones in the attacks on earth and has seen many horrible things during her time as a war journalist, resulting in her having developed a sarcastic, distrusting and often rash and aggressive character.
  • Cassandra Truth: Both Carla and Colburn don't believe Zoya that she isn't responsible for the crash.
    • In the opposite direction, even when she not only finds an audio log which mentions that the Phantom Plague is real, but sees someone die of it right before her, she will still claim that it doesn't exist.
  • Defiant to the End: She gets Killed Off for Real at the end of Episode 1.
  • Doesn't Trust Those Guys: She doesn't trust the station security and she certainly doesn't trust a "virus" in her headlens. She is right about security as they knock her friend out and then torture her, but slowly begins to trust Alex only to feel utterly betrayed when finding he has send Code 7 to earth.
  • Dynamic Entry: Suggests doing this when thinking about entering the canteen.
  • Fantastic Racism: The mail of a fan mentions that she fights for the rights of women and robots.
  • Gonzo Journalism: Gets accused of being subjective and partial in her request for an interview. Reading the notes on two other interviews she did shows how that client got the idea.
  • Information Wants to Be Free: Played with. She is clearly all for informing the world of all the horrible things that have happened on the station. Doesn't mean she is above destroying valuable evidence, if it upsets her.
  • Intrepid Reporter: She applied to get to Mars to cover the station's policy on granting CEO's access instead of brilliant people who begged for refuge from war. She also mentions that she had been a war journalist at one point.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Towards herself.
Scantastic! Beat ...Sorry. That was bad.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: When Colburn tries to use his Freudian Excuse, she points out that she has also lost people dear to her. In contrast to him though, she didn't cross the line because of it.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Zoya doesn't like the lab with the human test subjects for obvious reasons.
  • Spy Fiction: She is constantly being accused of being a terrorist and a spy based on her snooping around as well as her "contacting someone from outside" aka Alex downloading himself into her computer. The end reveals that she is actually a spy.

    Bear
An EIU agent who Alex joins in episode 2.

    Raven
An EIU agent who Alex joins in episode 2.

    Meta

One of the scientists of Schrödinger Station. He is one of the few people that interacted directly with S.O.L.I. before it went rogue.

  • Deadpan Snarker: He is a scientist, but he isn't really the type for excitement over small achievements.
O'Connel developed a filter for the local water. We can drink it now and surprise...It tastes like water.
  • Hopeless with Tech: While most Audio Logs are from him, there are also one log and one mail of him complaining about how difficult and unnecessary he finds them.
  • Papa Wolf: Has four adoptive children and the voice-over at the beginning implies that he did something bad to protect them.

Ling Chung

The administration officer of Schrödinger Station.

Oja Patu

One of the newest members on Schrödinger Station.

  • Ascended Fanboy: He has been a big fan of Lamarc for a long time, only to join him at Schrödinger Station.

    Episode 1
Richard Colburn

Voiced By: Steven Varnum

Head of Security, tyrant and the Big Bad of Episode 1 next to S.O.L.I.

  • Artificial Limbs: Has a mechanical arm.
  • Freudian Excuse: His daughter died young, so it is perfectly ok to experiment, torture and kill people in pursuit of undoing that.
  • Laughing Mad: Ends up as this when he reveals that the Phantom Plague is real and involves victims calling for "Alex", partially because he immediately starts dying of it as well.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Crossed this when his daughter died. He crosses it a second time when he meets Zoya in the cargo bay, resulting in him activating the Mind Manipulation for everyone on the station, leading to panic and chaos.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: His daughter died of a treatable illness.
  • Papa Wolf: If you even dare speak his child's name, he will be at your throat. And if he has to doom an entire station full of innocents to insanity and the phantom plague for the chance to see his daughter, then he will gleefully do so.
  • Properly Paranoid: He is almost obsessed in finding traitors, spies and such. He has his eye especially on Zoya since she is snooping in forbidden areas. He is actually right about Zoya being a spy.

Hamza Park

Voiced By: Zein Okko

The station member who's probably closest to Zoya. Presumably of indian ancestry.

  • AB Negative: He is revealed to be O- and thus a very valuable donor for the injured in the recreational area.
  • Hospital Hottie: He's a nurse and quite popular. It's unclear how visually pleasing he is though as there is no image of him.
  • The Password Is Always "Swordfish": Oddly averted. He is one of the very few whose password is good enough that he has to tell you since you can't figure it out with Brute Force.
  • Plucky Girl: A rare male example. He never seems to be depressed, doubtful or even seriously worried, instead always trying to keep a positive attitude and help wherever he can.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: He might be a bubbly Plucky Girl, but if Zoya tells him that she is working with an unknown "virus", he will not help her out easily in contrast to Zoya claiming that she is in contact with Nash.
  • Sweet Tooth: His password is - after all - ilikepie2000.

Amelie Faceaux

Voiced By: Kimberly Young

The CEO of Oriens and the highest ranking officer of the Neurolabs.

  • Killed Off for Real: Zoya finds her murdered in her office.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: A report in the archives reveals she was bordering on thinking like this since she couldn't explain the Phantom Plague. She also later claims towards the security officer that someONE and someTHING are trying to kill her.

Nash Phinneas

Voiced By: David Godfrey

Lives in the room opposite of Zoya, responsible for computer issues.

Hamish Krager

A member of Oriens Station. He paints in his free time.

  • Affably Evil: While seeming nice in almost all mentions, it is revealed in the labs that Hamish is one of those that are responsible for the human experimenting and specifically Jenna's disappereance.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: One of the scientists on Schrödinger Station was his brother.
  • Threat Backfire: Threatened Faceaux and ended up getting fired for it. It's implied he joined his test subjects right after that.

  • The Medic: Was at one point the chief medical officer and is still currently the vice medical officer.

Shi Hui Fang

Voiced By: Katie Mc Govern

The station member in charge of maintaining the outer walls of the living area.

  • Accidental Hero: Zoya mentions that the only reason why the south dome didn't even get a scratch from the crash is because Shi Fang is amazing at her job.
  • Impossible Insurance: A variation. She doesn't get locked out of an insurance, she makes one. Specifically one for injuries caused by space debris.
  • Plucky Girl: Curious, cheerful and out for adventures.
  • Wrench Wench: Featuring the adventures of Shi the space mechanic!

Gorski

The new lead medical officer. It's unclear if he already arrived on Oriens Station by the time Episode 1 happens.

Micha Reibach

A member of Oriens Station and victim to Hans' horrible housekeeping.

  • Tested on Humans: A hidden file reveals that he was subjected to this.
