Coconut Fred

A coconut who can think anything into existence.
  • All-Loving Hero: He is perpetually happy, and literally can't comprehend negative emotions such as anger or sadness.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Bingo mentions he relies on Fred to defend him.
  • Character Catchphrase :
    • "Yay me!"
    • "I could make that FUN!"
    • "NOW you're talking Coconut!"
  • CloudCuckoolander: Virtually the textbook definition.
  • Captain Ersatz: In essence, he's most of SpongeBob's negative traits without a lot of his positive ones, wrapped up in a coconut shell. Plus he has magical powers to make his imagination some true.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Well, he is a coconut.
  • For Happiness: Makes it his obligation to help those in need, even if they don't want his help (and they usually don't).
  • Keet: He's a limitless source of optimism and energy, to the point he is prone to fits of screaming about it.
  • Reality Warper: He just has to think of something and it becomes real, no matter how impossible it may seem. No explaination of this phenomenon is ever given, and he seems blissfully unaware of it.

Slip and Slide

Not-so-intelligent banana brothers.
  • Banana Peel: Their names refer to the classic joke of slipping and sliding on a banana peel.
  • Deep South: They are hillbilly stereotypes.
  • The Ditzes: To the point that they're basically the Patrick Star of the show.
  • Idiot Savant: Despite their overwhelming stupidity and immaturity, the two are prone to random moments of genius and engineering capability, which ranges from rebuilding destroyed homes to mathematically deducing the best angle to shoot a hole-in-one shot at a golf course to converting a hovercraft into a vacuum-powered trash-sweeper.
  • Single-Minded Twins: They wear the same outfit and have the same ditzy personality, with nothing to really distinguish one from the other.

Bingo

A shy, timid cherry and Coconut Fred's best friend. He often assists Mr. Greenrind, and desperately clings to Fred for protection.
  • Absurd Phobia: Scared of just about everything in existence, and seemingly proud of it.
  • Only Sane Man: The only member of Fred's friends with any degree of common sense, Bingo is actually sensible and intelligent, but is easily wrangled into Coconut Fred's insane antics.
  • Shrinking Violet: Being a tiny cherry, he is shy and has trouble standing up for himself, something Fred unsubtly tries to help him with.

Mr. Greenrind

A strict watermelon who acts as the island's manager and will do anything to get some peace from Coconut Fred.
  • Bad Boss: Despite often shown being troubled by Fred's irritating and disruptful antics, Mr. Greenrind's frustrations are less about disrupting the island's activities and more about disrupting his personal peace. He is otherwise shown to be uselessly lazy, often unloads his responsibilities onto others and is blatantly only there for the perks of managing a resort island. In fact, his first instinct in the face of customer complaints is to blame Fred regardless of the context, which backfired horribly in the one instance Fred actually left the island.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poor guy has to deal with all the chaos and mayhem on the island.
  • Captain Ersatz: He is basically a watermelon version of Squidward, being a grumpy character who is both full of himself, proud of nonexistent skills, and just wants to relax in peace but is constantly annoyed by an annoying neighbor and his friends.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He can be bossy and sometimes mean, but he cares about Fred deep down in some episodes such as "A Cold Day on Fruit Salad Island", showing concern for Fred and even outright telling him he's worried about him.
  • Last-Name Basis: Typically only referred to as Mr. Greenrind. His first name, Mel (presumably short for Watermelon) is rarely mentioned.
  • Only Sane Man: He is much calmer compared to the likes of the wacky, hyperactive Coconut Fred and his friends, although he is comically lazy and self-centered.

Wedgie

A sailor lemon who has since been marooned on Fruit Salad Island after crashing his boat. Wedgie desperately wants to get off the island and back to sailing, but fails every time, usually due to Coconut Fred.
  • Asshole Victim: While his suffering as a result of Fred's antics is largely undeserved, he is blatantly unpleasant and spiteful.
  • Butt-Monkey: Like Mr. Greenrind, he tends to get hit by a lot of the chaos caused by Coconut Fred. In fact, this is the whole reason he's trying to escape the island... but of course each attempt fails anyway.
  • Companion Cube: Often has one-sided conversations with Betty, the inanimate mermaid figurehead salvaged from his boat. It could be argued this is due to his need for intelligent conversation, something in very short supply on Fruit Salad Island, but it seems to teter back and forth between wether he actually believes she's talking back.
  • Only Sane Man: Whenever Mr. Greenrind or Bingo isn't there.
  • The Smart Guy: Wedgie seems to be the only resident of Fruit Salad Island with any complete sense of logic of reason, lacking things such as Mr. Greenrind's lazyness or Bingo's phobias. Unfortunately this is useless in the face of his horrendous luck.

Bunga Berry

A strawberry who only speaks in grunts and growls. Everyone can still understand him, though.
  • Intelligible Unintelligible: None of the other characters have trouble understanding his grunting.
  • Noble Savage: Despite his seemingly-savage and inarticulate nature, Bunga is actually shown to be both wise and sophisticated, but only when it counts. Mr. Greenrind assumed his home village was a small group of filthy savages, only for everybody to be shocked when they actually visit and discover it to be more akin to an affluent gated community.
