Chilla Family
As a whole
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Chinny dons some fancy earrings (that become a plot point in "The Three Chillateers") and Charla has a cord made of beads that holds her ponytail in place.
- Alliterative Family: Chip Chilla, Charla Chilla, Chubbly Chilla, Chinny Chilla and Chum Chum Chilla.
- Barefoot Cartoon Animal: Chip and Charla wear shirts (and Charla also dons a green skirt), but no shoes. Chubbly, however, has feet coverings as part of his jumpsuit. Chum Chum also wears no shoes.
- Cheerful Child: All three Chilla siblings are this, though Chip leans on the "bratty" side, Charla leans on the "responsible" side and Chubbly is one or the other.
- Family Theme Naming: The father of the chinchilla family is called Chum Chum while his wife is called Chinny. Their children are Chip, Charla and Chubbly.
- Good Parents: Chum Chum and Chinny care deeply about their children.
- Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Chinny and Charla have purple fur.
- Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Subverted. The male members of the family (Chum Chum, Chip, and Chubbly) are blue, while the female members of the family (Chinny and Charla) are purple.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Chip and Chubbly have Chum Chum's fur and facial features, while Charla inherited Chinny's fur and long hair.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Chinny has a fancy bowl cut and Charla has a short ponytail with a bead hair tie. They also have eyelashes. In contrast their male counterparts only have limited strands of Idiot Hair and no eyelashes.
Chip Chilla

- Blue Is Heroic: He has blue fur and is a good-hearted person underneath his brash exterior.
- Bratty Half-Pint: While Charla is more polite, Chip tends to be brazen.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Often acts abrasive to Charla and Chubbly, with one Aesop even being about how he should treat his siblings kindly, but also deeply cares about them.
Charla Chilla
Voiced by: Lucy Capri
- Acquired Situational Narcissism: After being elected President, Charla gains a superiority complex over the rest of the household, and instills rules that favour her, such as her ruling term being longer than everyone else's.
- Feminine Women Can Cook: In the first episode, she is praised for her cooking skills.
Chubbly Chilla
Voiced by: Deacon Branscum
- The Baby of the Bunch: Literally, as he's the only toddler, while Chip and Charla are pre-teens.
- Idiot Hair: His sticks upwards.
Chinny Chilla
Voiced by: Laura Osnes
- Happily Married: To Chum Chum.
- Only Sane Woman: She's probably the only one of the Chilla family who isn't a complete idiot.
- Straight Man: Chum Chum is a clueless ditz, whereas Chinny functions as this.
Chum Chum Chilla
Voiced by: Rob Schneider, James Arnold Taylor (Thanksgiving Holiday Special)
- Bumbling Dad: Chum Chum Chilla is this, big time.Charla: "Why is there a waffle on the ceiling?"Chum Chum: "Because I wanted to see if it would stick."
- Character Catchphrase: "It's Chilla Time!" when he declares the start of a new game for his family to play.
- Foreign Culture Fetish: He enjoys cosplaying as an Ancient Roman.
- Happily Married: To his wife Chinny.
- Shout-Out: Chum Chum's notched right ear resembles that of Stitch's.
