Eri
An elderly Welsh wizard Timoken befriended in Castle Melyntha. He fled with Timoken from the castle and became one of the royal wizards of the Red Castle. Is usually irritable but can always be counted on. Llyr is his grandson.
- Manly Tears: At the end of The Stones of Ravenglass, when he is reunited with his infant grandson.
- Seers: Has the ability to dream of the future.
Llyr
Grandson of Eri, and also a wizard of the Red Castle. His parents were murdered by the conquerors long ago.
- Big Damn Heroes: Saves Beri when she is being attacked by Osbern D'Ark's soldiers, by magically creating a knife out of a bone and sending it into the man's eye.
- Dark and Troubled Past: His parents were killed by the conquerors when he was just a baby.
