     In general
  • Action Girl: All three of them are perfectly capable of fighting, and are even stronger than the sisters in a sense, but are mostly relegated to the role of mentors so the story doesn't end in five seconds.
  • All-Powerful Bystander: Lori and Leni. They're not necessarily as strong as, say, Lincoln when in his divine form, but they're still strong enough to be able to deal with the antagonists without being immediately beaten senseless, and yet, they remain at the sidelines. Lori and Leni at least have the excuse that their prototype counterparts won't allow them to interfere.
    • Averted with Carol, who does get involved to an extent, but her stamina issues make it hard for her to stay in the fray for long.
  • Big Sister Mentor: Lori and Leni fit this, as the rest of the siblings, except maybe Lincoln, are technically younger than them. Carol's... A bit more complicated...
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap:
    • Lori and Leni can only move or do things that Proto-Leni and Proto-Lori, respectively allows them to do. Otherwise, they're stopped right on their tracks by said beings.
    • In Carol's case, her poor stamina issues really don't mix well with her Thinking Up Portals power, meaning she can't do a whole lot of fancy portal-based stuff without tiring herself immediately.
  • The Mentor: They all serve as the mentors for the sisters and the main trio, though Lori and Leni's roles are rather short-lived before Carol replaces them.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: Leni, who's patient and calm with her siblings would serve as the nice one. Lori, who, while not outright malicious, is very stern and lacks patient would be the mean, and Carol, who's an even mix of the two makes her... well, duh.
  • Personality Powers:

     Lori Loud
The oldest of the Loud sisters. She's the more headstrong of the duo between her and Leni. She's under the servitude of Proto-Leni, at least in the original fic.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: In the canon show, Lori's well known as a Phoneaholic Teenager who's almost never seen without her phone at hand. In Chains of Reality, the amount of times Lori's on the phone are next to none, and considering her Unusual User Interface, it's quite likely she doesn't even need a phone.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: She and Clyde lack the "younger boy has a one-sided crush on his best friend's older sister" dynamic from the original. In fact, barring a few minor interactions in the Proto-Lana arc, they barely have any interaction at all!
  • Bittersweet 17: She's probably older than that, but like in canon, her body is supposed to be around 17, and she and Leni are somehow bounded to their counterparts, preventing them from entering the fight and dealing with the main guys themselves. Yeah, It's pretty bittersweet.
  • Cellphones Are Useless: Lori, the Phoneaholic Teenager in canon, never really uses her cellphone in this story even during times when it should be useful.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: A little moment between her and Luna involves Luna hitting her, which does nothing, then returning the punch, knocking out a teeth from her. While this is seen as a bad thing by the siblings, it did make it clear that at that current point in time, the sisters weren't capable of fighting back against the progenitors.
  • Hologram: She can create these from her birthmark, which is located on her forehead.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: Lori's Shock and Awe powers almost seem like an Imagination-Based Superpower at times: She can discharge lighting bolts, paralyze people with lighting, generated blades of lighting, and keep herself alive after Lincoln blows a hole through her in one punch.
  • Mrs. Exposition: She's the one to explain most stuff related to the original reality to her siblings.
  • Nervous Wreck: When not being a stern teacher figure, she tends to become nervous as soon as things seem to go beyond her control. That said, she also has an easy time masking this anxiety behind a stern face.
  • No-Sell: Luna punches her with all she's got during the climax of Proto-Lola's arc. Lori does act like it did something, but she quickly cuts the act before deliving an even harder punch at Luna, knocking out one of her teeth.
  • Sanity Slippage: Recent chapters have shown Lori has started to slightly lose her mind, with some reviewers even saying this feels like a Faceā€“Heel Turn is coming. Considering that, by the end of the first act, she's got a hole punched through her stomach by an enraged Lincoln, and after she was forced to do this by Proto-Leni, it's kinda hard to say it wasn't expected.
  • Shock and Awe: As a member of the Lori caste, this is a given, and seeing how she's the successor of the previous matriarch to boot, she's likely stronger than the average member of said caste.
  • Telephone Teleport: She can teleport between phones, as revealed in chapter 46.
  • Torso with a View: This happens to her after Proto-Leni forces her to enrage an unstable Lincoln, prompting him to strike back. He heals her soon after, but not before she spends several seconds or minutes keeping herself alive with her lighting.

     Leni Loud
The second oldest Loud sibling. She's calmer and kinder in the duo between her and Lori. She's under the servitude of Proto-Lori, at least in the original fic.
  • The Berserker: Once she enters her Velvet form, Leni primarily focuses on attacking with all she's got without any regard for anybody else.
  • The Confidant: Seems to work as one for Lori, even telling her she can tell her what's wrong when she notices Lori's looking nervous like usual. Considering the nature of the information the two know, there really isn't anybody else to talk to.
  • The Dreaded: At least to Leia, who outright calls her a psycho before she and Proto-Lola's Bun-Bun run away.
  • Fisher Kingdom: Her handmade pocket dimensions work like this: if something happens to the dimension or otherwise gets damaged, Leni will feel something, usually pain, in equivalence to what happened to it.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: It's Leni, what did you expect?
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: In her Velvet form, further making her seem similar to Lori.
  • Improvised Weapon: Uses a tree as a club in order to smack both Leia and Proto-Lola's Bun-Bun away from Carol.
  • Implacable Woman: Once in her Velvet form, nothing other than another Loud sister (and even then, only Lori's shown being able to stop her) or Lincoln can stop her.
  • Mellow Fellow: There are very few things that can seriously tick her off. Lucy being squished is one of them, as is Lincoln becoming enraged.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: She has a fairly slender build, but being part of the Leni caste, she possesses their characteristic super strength.
  • No-Sell: Her Velvet form can outright nullify weaker members of a caste's powers: Ronnie Anne's lighting paralysis did nothing to her, but Lori's managed to keep her in check.
  • Pocket Dimension: She can create one of these using her powers, but with Fisher Kingdom properties in that whatever happens to her dimension, also damages her.
  • Power Limiter: Her earrings count as this, since they serve as the key to unlock her "Velvet" form.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: An odd case in that it's based on what form she's in at the moment. On her base form, Leni is as sweet and kind, if a little bit ditzy, as she is in canon. However, once her earrings come off, and assumes her "Velvet" form, she becomes much more aggressive and impatient, kinda like Lori.
  • Super Mode: Notable in that she's the only Loud sister to have a confirmed super mode besides the angel form. By taking off her earrings, she can access a "Velvet" form that makes her tap into even more of her strength, with the caveat that she also gains a more temperamental personality.
  • Super-Strength: Outright states she, and by extension her caste, has this, which she demonstrates with good use when she lifts and uses a tree as a club.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: She's introduced in the story knitting something, and is an activity she's commonly seen performing.

     Carol Pingrey
A classmate of Lori who winds up becoming the sisters and trio's mentor after Lori and Leni decide she would be a better fit than them. She's also Lori and Leni's daughter.
  • Action Girl: Unlike her fellow mentors, she tends to join the battlefield whenever she can. However, her stamina issues make it difficult for her to deal with everything on her own.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the original version of the Proto-Lucy arc, Carol managed to fight against the titular progenitor using Savinoken to a standstill, though it wasn't enough to defeat her. In the reboot, Carol and Proto-Lucy never meet face to face in her arc, and the one time Carol fights her in the Proto-Lola arc, she ends up getting her butt handed to her.
  • The Apprentice: Dialogue early on implies she used to be a student of Lori and Leni themselves, though this little bit has since not been referenced.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: On paper, Carol's Thinking Up Portals powers sounds like a very easy way to destroy the conflict in the story. However, their Cast from Stamina status, as well as Carol's Incompletely Trained status, means that these powers are often a hassle to deal with.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: She's considered beautiful in-universe, and she's one of the good guys.
  • Cast from Stamina: Her portal powers work like this; If she uses them too often, her stamina will quickly drain, leaving her exhausted and open to attack.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: When Lucy summoned Proto-Lucy and the latter was messing with the former, Carol manages to cut her in half before she's incapacitated.
    • Later, during the Proto-Lana arc, she manages to put up a decent fight against Proto-Lana herself, even scoring a few hits before her Savinoken runs out. It didn't do anything but annoy Proto-Lana, sure, but still, points for trying.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Both Luna and Sam are quick to get attracted to Carol's... well, figure, although the latter's affection quickly wanes when the former begins cheating on her with Carol (or so she thinks).
  • Hybrid Power: She's referred to as a "Cross-Caste" in the Proto-Lola Arc, which probably explains how she's able to stand toe-to-toe with both Lori and Leni at the same time, as well as her ability to control portals.
  • Laser Blade: Forms a pair of these during her fight with Lori and Leni in the introduction arc in the reboot.
  • Male Gaze: The Proto-Lana arc doesn't shy away from describing as being attractive to other characters, and not helping matters is that her birthmark is located on her cleavage.
  • Mundane Utility: Carol doesn't get into fights often, so most of her portal powers are relegated to use as a matter of transportation between long distances.
  • Mysterious Past: Carol once used to be The Apprentice to Lori and Leni, and she has some kind of ties with Lincolnism, but that's about all that's known about her prior to the start of the story.
  • Odd Friendship: With Lana, the Loud sister that she seems to get along with the most. The two of them are fairly close.
  • Red Baron: Known as the "Love Slayer" by the fact she hunted down lovechildren before the start of the story, a fact she really doesn't like being reminded off.
  • Shock and Awe: She's capable of using the same lighting powers as Lori, but they're nowhere near to the same extent as Lori herself.
  • Tele-Frag: Attempted to do this against Proto-Lucy in the Proto-Lola arc, but being a progenitor, this wasn't capable of killing her.
  • Teleportation Sickness: Not so much sickness but exhaustion; this is what happens to her if shes her Cast from Stamina portal powers, which also
  • Teleport Spam: While she can do this, the Cast from Stamina nature of her powers means that doing so is liable to get her open to attack from the sheer exhaustion ofi t.
  • Thinking Up Portals: For some reason, she can create portals at will, although doing this too much tires her out, given they're made using her own stamina.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Carol can either Tele-Frag opponents (with varied success), and also use her portals to go through spaces within a short amount of time, with the caveat of leaving her exhausted afterwards.
  • The Worf Effect: Carol has a really bad track record with fights: She fails to stop Proto-Lucy in the Proto-Lola arc, her Savinoken only manages to anger Proto-Lana in her self-titled arc, and she's mostly left to act as a teleportation user in the Proto-Lucy arc.
