Ultimate Detective
Our story's protagonist; Dipper is one of the most capable people for getting out of the killing game. As the Ultimate Detective, he's solved mysteries that go beyond scientific understanding. As such, even with his scrawny appearance and nervous demeanor, his sheer amount of experience in abnormal conditions gives him the edge in this abnormal setting. But, is he truly safe? What happens if he isn’t able to solve the puzzle surrounding Hope’s Peak? And is there something we still haven’t found out about him?
- Deadpan Snarker: He may not be on summer vacation anymore, but it appears Dipper's cutting wit is something amnesia just can't erase.
- In-Series Nickname: Eddy calls him "Dipper D" and Charlotte calls him "Dippy."
- Kid Detective: His talent.
Ultimate Scam Artist
Voiced by: vgpuppybot
Being the scam master he is, Eddy is a guy with a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Even with his big, fat mouth he’s managed to con quarters out of every kid in the Cul-De-Sac and more. He may be short and ill-tempered, but the lessons he’s picked up from his big bro have worked wonders. Enough so that he was accepted into Hope’s Peak as the “Ultimate Scam Artist”. Now can he weasel his way out? Without his full team of Ed boys by his side, will he be able to protect himself in the killing game?
- Con Man: Eddy's talent is defined around manipulating others into falling for stunts he puts up so that he can take their money. In the original series, this never went too well for him, but considering it's his talent here...
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's rude with no remorse about his talent, but when Monokuma reveals that he has Double D held captive, Eddy is legitimately worried about him.
Ultimate Muscle
While the town of Peach Creek is generally a normal, care-free town in comparison to the rest of the settings represented in Ci DR, Ed is definitely the exception. As simple-minded as he is, Ed is one of the strongest kids you’ll ever see. Able to both tank and dish out hits like no other, Ed is no brains, all brawn. While also being such a sweet guy at heart, will Ed be able to withstand the pain of seeing his friends getting taken out one by one? And with Double D supposedly missing, does he have the brains to make it out alive?
- Dumb Muscle: The essence of his talent; he makes up for little brainpower with unimaginable Super-Strength.
Ultimate Snack Enthusiast
South Park's own Eric Cartman is a bag of many tricks, most being evil in nature. Despite his small and pudgy stature, Cartman is one of the most dangerous students in the Hope's Peak roster. He’s not supposed to get his way, so when he does it’s never a good thing. Unless feeding someone their own parents sounds positive to you. Makes the title of “Ultimate Snack Enthusiast” seem out of place doesn’t it? Either way, will Cartman choose to commit murder again or is there a possibility of him having a change of heart?
- Big Eater: Spends a majority of his time eating when he's not being a Jerkass.
- Character Catchphrase: "Screw you guys, I'm going to my room."
- Corrupt the Cutie: In one of the shorts, Cartman takes advantage of Charlotte's ditzy-ness by teaching her a couple of "French terms". Dib and Dipper have to explain to her why she shouldn't say those words.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He seems to be genuinely concerned for Kenny once he learns that Monokuma is holding him captive.
- Expy: Cartman planning to win the game while refusing to make nice with his classmates is very similar to pre-Character Development Byakuya.
- Fat Bastard: A snack enthusiast (with the girth to show for it), and easily the biggest jerk in the cast.
- Leitmotif: He and Kyle share "Finding Polly Prissy Pants," a mashup of "Finding Peace Party" as well as the theme from their home series, "Jackin' It In San Diego," and "Kyle's Mom's a Bitch."
Ultimate Paranormal Investigator
The son of Hope's Peak's founder; Professor Membrane. Though they share a name and a hairstyle, their interests are near polar opposite. While Professor Membrane is top class in science, Dib would much rather study the paranormal. However, that big head isn't just for show. He’s one of the smartest students attending the academy, even if he is a bit of a weirdo. But, what does the future hold for Dib, trapped in a school his own father created? Could all of this involve him in some way?
- Actor Allusion: His birthday is given as February 24, the same as his original actor, Andy Berman.
- Expy: Being one of the two children of Professor Membrane, the original headmaster, as well as his connection with Dipper, makes him fairly similar to Kyoko from the original franchise.
- Paranormal Investigation: His talent. And it took him a while to convince his father it was a worthy pursuit.
Ultimate Extraterrestrial Scientist
This... perfectly normal human boy holds the key to discovering the functions of technology from outer space. Despite his green complexion and lack of ears, Zim possesses a weirdly profound knowledge of the unknown, a unique skill that puts him lightyears ahead of the scientific curve. It almost makes you wonder if there’s more to him...could Zim be hiding some terrible secret that could destroy the world as we know it? And without his... "dog"... will he be able to make it through the killing game without backup?
- Bad Liar: His attempts to hide that he's an alien to the rest of the cast are not good, to say the least.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: When Monokuma reveals his hostage for the first motive is GIR, Zim actually freaks out.
Ultimate Jew
While Kyle originally didn't want to come to this academy, Cartman had other plans. Being dragged with him to Hope’s Peak; Kyle is actually one of the most normal kids we’ve got. Though a bit quirky, Kyle stands firmly behind a set of morals that, even in the mad town that is South Park, have yet to fade. But, in an environment even more destructive than anything he’s seen before, what will become of his principles during the killing game? Will he have to make his move in order to survive until the end?
- Character Catchphrase: He finally drops his "You Bastard!" catchphrase after Star's death.
- Deadpan Snarker: Has some moments of this.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: At least when it comes to Cartman.
- Joke Character: The only reason he's at Hope's Peak is because Cartman sent an application behind his back.
- Leitmotif: He and Cartman share "Finding Polly Prissy Pants," a mashup of "Finding Peace Party" as well as the theme from their home series, "Jackin' It In San Diego," and "Kyle's Mom's a Bitch."
Ultimate Assistant
Morty is the grandson and assistant to Rick Sanchez, and in being second banana to the greatest mind on Earth, Morty earned the title of "Ultimate Assistant" in a flash. Initially Morty, was dissuaded from joining Hope's Peak by Rick, as his grandfather thinks of school as dumb and pointless, but with enough convincing Rick gave Morty a recommendation that instantly got Morty a spot at the academy. Though... maybe that wasn’t a good idea after all. Will Morty be able to overcome his anxiety to defeat Monokuma? And why hasn't Rick come to save him?
- Ambiguous Situation: He tells Kyle he's an only child. Time will tell whether he forgot about Summer like Star forgot about Marco, this Morty really is one, or he's just lying.
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: In spite of how little Rick appears to care for Morty, when Morty wanted to come to Hope's Peak, Rick gave him a recommendation in spite of not really caring about the school.
- Beleaguered Assistant: Morty served as one to Rick Sanchez, one of the smartest and least moral men to ever walk the planet. As a result, he's survived some of the most dangerous scenarios in the universe, and has picked up quite a bit from Rick in the process.
- The Medic: He treats Ed and Dipper after they get hurt.
Female Students
Ultimate Sweater Designer
As Dipper's twin sister and second-in-command; Mabel's incredibly different compared to her brother. With a talent for all things artsy and craft-y and the creativity needed to bring it all to life, Mabel’s a ditzy geek with a lot going for her. While Dipper's the brains of the Mystery Twins, Mabel is the fun and comic relief... and sometimes the conflict. But, whether or not she's causing problems, she still loves her brother and their teamwork has gotten them from hell and back. So, how will this synergy hold up now?
- Dork in a Sweater: Her usual attire and is part of her talent.
- Genki Girl: It wouldn't be Mabel if she wasn't. That being said, it's clear the pressure of the killing game is getting to her.
Ultimate Fiend Maker
The smallest dictator you'll ever see; Vendetta rules the town of Clamburg with creatures she calls “Fiends”. Her selfish and destructive personality has brought fear into the hearts of many, and her ability to bake these monsters at a moments notice means she's never out of ammo. But, with the fact that most of the students on Hope’s Peak’s roster have seen much worse than anything Vendetta has produced, how could Vendetta’s talent be useful in the killing game? Is there a fiend she could cook up that can solve this mystery?
- Even Evil Has Standards: She appears to be against the killing game and makes this clear to Monokuma.
- Maker of Monsters: It's her talent.
Ultimate Motivator
Hailing from the town of Clamburg, you'd expect yet another depressed sad sack to come from such a miserable place, but Charlotte's the ray of sunshine that makes it all better. Being too stupid to actually know what's good and what's bad, she's almost always going through her day with a smile on her face. That's why she's the Ultimate Motivator after all. But, will she be able to keep a bright face during the killing game? Will that be enough to crack her nearly unbreakable spirit?
- All-Loving Heroine: Charlotte is an endless bundle of optimism, kindness, and encouragement, and genuinely seems to love and care about everyone around her, inspiring them to try their best in everything they do.
- Captain Oblivious: Charlotte has no idea about the danger she and the other students are in. A screen showing hostages? It must be a new TV show! Student's dead? She must be sleeping!
- The Ditz: Tied with Ed in being the least intelligent of the students. The only difference is that while Ed is aware of the danger they're in, Charlotte can't comprehend the horror of the killing game. Even when Star dies, she believes that she's only taking a very long nap.
- Super Gullible: Fittingly for someone as oblivious as her, when Cartman tries teaching her "French," she can't figure out why Dipper and Dib are appalled by that.
Ultimate Team Leader
Commander and the Leader; Blossom is a superhuman made in the lab of Professor Utonium. With sugar, spice, everything nice, and a little bit of Chemical X thrown into the mix, she may be one of the strongest students Hope's Peak has to offer. With brains, brawn and speed, she’s a complete package and a model student. As the Ultimate Team Leader, will she be able to keep the group together, or crack under the pressure of saving the lives of her fellow classmates? And would Monokuma even allow a superhuman like her to compete with everyone else?
- Break the Haughty: Being the Commander the Leader of her team, Blossom prides herself on these skills. But they're put to the test time and time again as Monokuma reveals his Killing Game and the surprises it holds. She briefly loses her cool after the first day before Jenny calms her down.
- It only gets worse as Buttercup is revealed to be one of his hostages. She tries to come up with a solution, but not before Star dies.
- Brought Down to Normal: Monokuma forcibly Depowers her, along with her sister and Jenny.
- The Leader: Of the Powerpuff Girls, as well as this being her Ultimate Talent. She also helps lead the other students in escape attempts.
Ultimate Animal Whisperer
The Joy and the Laughter; Bubbles is a powerful fighter in an adorable bite-sized package. She’s the ditziest and seemingly least capable of The Powerpuff Girls, but in reality is just as strong as her sisters, keeping her as one of the most powerful students in Hope’s Peak. Despite these abilities however, Bubbles chose to study under animals as her Ultimate Talent, one of the privileges of having multiple skills under her belt. Although, it doesn’t take much to upset her, and with one of her sisters presumably being missing, how will she cope?
- Break the Cutie: While all Hope's Peak students are subject to this, Bubbles is known for being the heart of her team. As such, the actions they're forced to perform often hit her hardest.
- Brought Down to Normal: Monokuma forcibly Depowers her, along with her sister and Jenny.
- Friend to All Living Things: Much like in the show she's from, she can communicate with various animals.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Her talent.
Ultimate Gamer
Daughter of the Membrane family; Gaz is a complete mystery. Her ambitions are simple; gaming, pizza, piggies, repeat. For such a basic lifestyle, it’s hard to imagine that Gaz would be this ball of hatred and spite towards anyone even slightly annoying. On top of that, she’s got similar smarts to that of her brother and she’s good at every single game she’s ever played. So, how will that fare when it comes to a killing game? Could this be the first and last time she ever loses?
- Gamer Chick: Her talent revolves around this.
Ultimate Magician
Hailing from the kingdom of Mewni; Star was instructed to live on the planet Earth. With her introduction, she brought loads of magical chaos with her bubbly personality and her incredible magic wand. Since then, she’s had the privilege of making every day new and exciting with just a few words and the wave of her hand. But...exciting has its ups and downs. Now that she’s in Hope’s Peak, will she be able to make it out with magic alone? And why aren’t the Dimensional Scissors working?
She's the victim of Chapter 1, found with her throat slashed in the kitchen.
- Brought Down to Normal: Sort of. She still has her powers, but since her wand is missing and the dimensional scissors don't work, she's basically powerless.
- Expressive Accessory: The heart markings on her face become broken after she's killed.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Her case of this is noticeable, as she has no clue who her hostage, Marco, is.
- Magicians Are Wizards
- Odd Friendship: Star, the outspoken magical princess from another dimension, is close friends with Jenny, a semi-introverted robot. It's a sign that the two were close friends before their minds were wiped.
- Sacrificial Lion: Star is a powerful magic wielder who also happens to be a princess... and she ends up being the first one to die.
- Slashed Throat: If it's not what killed her in the chapter, it's certainly how she's found dead in Chapter 1.
Ultimate Fighting Machine
Dr. Nora Wakeman set out to create a machine to protect the Earth, and after 8 failed attempts we have Jenny. With her only wish to co-exist with the human teenage crowd, having to save the day so often is just a reminder of how different she is from everyone else. But even then, she’s managed to act as a normal (if not a touch sassy) girl in her own special way. With Monokuma taking the spot as the deadliest robot around, does Jenny still have what it takes to make it out alive?
- Actor Allusion: Her presence in the cast might bring to mind her canon voice actress's role as Peko Pekoyama.
- Brought Down to Normal: Monokuma forcibly Depowers her, along with the Utoniums.
- The Heart: As shown in the second half of Chapter 1, Jenny manages to help cheer up both Blossom and Star.
- Irony: Blossom notes that, for someone made of metal, Jenny's a big softie.
- Odd Friendship: Jenny, the semi-introverted robot, is close friends with Star, an outspoken magical princess from another dimension. It's a sign that the two were close friends before their minds were wiped.
Hope's Peak
Headmaster of Hope's Peak
- Adaptational Villainy: In-universe, he was originally designed as a mascot for Hope's Peak Academy.
- Big Bad: The overseer of the Killing Game.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: He frequently does this, such when he first appears, he demands to know why he doesn't have an intro card like the students.
- Hated by All: It doesn't take the cast long to all agree that they hate Monokuma, to the point where Arch-Enemies Dib and Zim are willing to put that aside if it means they can escape.
- Leitmotif: Most of his scenes play "Mr Monokuma's Wacky New School", a mashup of his usual theme, the theme songs for Wayside, The Emperor's New School, and snippets of The Magic School Bus.
- Made of Iron: Monokuma is able to withstand an assault from Blossom, Bubbles and Jenny. All at once. Although it later turns out they did destroy him and he just switched to a new body.
Founder of Hope's Peak
Dib and Gaz's father, who was also the founder of Hope's Peak. While he is supposed to be the headmaster, Monokuma's appearance suggests something isn't right. Is Membrane alright? And if so, why hasn't he come to save his children?
- Adaptational Jerkass: This version of Membrane is the most distant father to Dib since Invader Zim.
- Ambiguously Evil: As revealed in one of the shorts, Membrane knows a lot more than what the story would suggest, as he tells his assistant that there's something that he doesn't want Nora Wakeman (Jenny's mom/creator and a former Hope's Peak student) knowing about the school.
- Fantasy-Forbidding Father: He tried his damnedest to get Dib to switch his talent to "Ultimate Scientist," going so far as to refuse to build him an Ultimate lab for his preferred talent. Dib had to pay for it out of pocket, and even then it had to be repurposed from a break room.
