    General Tropes 
  • Achilles' Heel: All of them have a critical elemental weakness that will put them in the dirt:
    • Aimi is weak to curse.
    • Hoshi is weak to psychokinesis.
  • Aerith and Bob: For the teams you've got a mix of Western names (Devin, Leonardo, Adam) and Eastern names (Aimi, Takeru, Hoshi).
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Subverted in regards to their outfits. Despite their appearance, they don't seem to impede their movement or slow them down in the least. Presumably due to it being in the world of mental cognition, where Rule of Cool runs rampantly.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Boy we've got a few.
    • You've got Leonardo, ethnically Caucasian/British but was raised in Japan.
    • Then there's Devin, who's half British, half Chinese.
    • Yuzuki has a British mother.
    • Hoshi is half French, half Japanese.
    • Adam has a Russian father.
  • Clingy Costume: When the Person League receive their masks, they find out the hard way that it's practically welded to their faces when awakening their Persona for the first time.
  • Code Name: All the characters go by a code name when in the Mirror Realm.
    • Aimi — Rose
    • Hoshi — Heart
    • Adam — Reaper
  • Common Tongue: The majority of characters are Japanese yet can communicate with foreign characters perfectly fine.
  • Elemental Powers: Each character with a Persona or Marionette specializes in a particular element.
    • Rose specializes in Garu spells.
    • Heart specializes in Bless spells.
    • Reaper specializes in Ice and Fire spells.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Most of the members of the Marionette League are very good at fooling others with mind games, and will do anything to get what they want.
  • Non-Uniform Uniform: The school of Mizu-Kagami are pretty lax about their students wearing the proper school uniform.
  • Summon Magic: When the Persona League or Marionette League summon their Persona or Marionette.
  • Tarot Motifs: Everyone is based on the meaning of their tarot cards, to some degree.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: The goal of the Marionette League is to ultimately merge the real world and the Mirror Realm into one.

Persona League

    Fool 
  • Rookie Red Ranger: Despite being a newcomer he gets thrusted into the leader role straight away after gaining his Persona.

    Chariot 
  • Determinator: He's described as having "a determination that is unwavering and patient".

    Strength - Devin Sun 
  • Academic Athlete: She's sporty and gets good grades too.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Aimi calls her "Devy-chan" and is the only one who can get away with calling her by a nickname.
  • Aloof Darkhaired Girl: Averted. She looks the part and her height can make her appear intimidating but she's a lot friendlier.
  • Batter Up!: Uses a bat with nails embedded in it as her weapon when in the Mirror Realm.
  • The Big Girl: She is the tallest as well as the strongest female member of the Persona League.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Her eyebrows are noticeably thicker than the other girls, which hints at her Tomboy nature.
  • Huge Schoolgirl: She is above average in height for a girl at 5'10".
  • Icy Blue Eyes: They make her look strong and focused, while still being feminine.

    Justice 
  • Defrosting Ice King: In his blurb it says "Is there a chance that your cold heart will thaw to reveal a caring, warm individual?"
  • Ice King: It's mentioned in his blurb that he's cold and distant.
  • Mr. Exposition: He provides most of the information to the party members about the Mirror Realm.
  • The Spock: He's very logical to the point his reasoning can come off as inhumane to his human counterparts.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Justice can willingly transform between his human and mascot form.

    Temperance - Aimi Hanagata / "Rose" 
Her Persona is named Ningyo Hime, based on the fairy tale of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen.
  • Blow You Away: Ningyo Hime uses Garu skills.
  • Body to Jewel: Her Persona, Ningyo Hime, has a special attack called Tears Of Pearls, where she actually cries pearls.
  • Daddy's Girl: It is mentioned she had a closer relationship with her father than her mother, which made her father leaving all that more devastating for her.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her dad left her mom after it was found out he was having an affair and moved in with his mistress, who was pregnant at the time.
  • Extreme Doormat: She has trouble saying no and hates confrontations.
  • The Fashionista: She pays attention to the latest fashion trends and loves shopping.
  • Flower Motifs: Her favourite flowers are roses, her Mirror Realm disguise has roses on it, wears roses in her hair, and even her code name is Rose.
  • Foreign Culture Fetish: She has an interest in American culture.
  • Gamer Chick: She enjoys playing otome and dating sim games, but she isn't exactly good at them.
  • Girly Girl: She loves fashion and is seen always wearing makeup when out in public.
  • Glass Cannon: In battle, she can't take many hits before she goes down.
  • Hates Being Alone: It's one of her fears, and it makes sense given her Workaholic mother is often away from home.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: She has a pet male pug named Fudge.
  • Idol Singer: She has her own YouTube account where she does cover songs and dance routines.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Due to her fear of being alone she'll accept anyone willing to be in a relationship with her, regardless of whether she feels the same way or not. And due to her mother working all the time, she threw herself into an online internet persona to get the love and attention she lacked that resulted in the birth of her dungeon.
  • In Love with Love: She likes the thought of being in a romantic relationship, stemming from her need to not be alone.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: She evokes the image well, while also being another trait she shares with Devin (though hers are a tad Icier).
  • Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: She's had quite a few romantic relationships but the longest one she's had only lasted four months.
  • Love Hungry: Most likely the reason why she's had so many relationships is because she just wants to be loved.
  • Martial Pacifist: She known as the peacemaker of the group and she prefers to talk things through than resort to violence, but if she has to fight she will.
  • Meaningful Name: Hanagata means "Floral Pattern" and Aimi means "Beautiful Love".
  • Of Corsets Sexy: Her Mirror Realm outfit has a white underbust.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: Her Persona, Ningyo Hime, takes on the appearance of a mermaid.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her father left her mother to live with his new wife and child, and her mother is often away working.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Her Mirror Realm outfit is red and blue, also a symbolism of opposites given her tarot card is Temperance.
  • Ridiculous Procrastinator: She tends to leave her homework until the last minute, resulting in her pulling all nighters to get them done.
  • Say It with Hearts: She always ends her texts with a heart emoji.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Her weapon of choice when in the Mirror Realm is a musketoon.
  • Slave to PR: Aimi felt this way about her online persona and career, leading it to start effecting her in real life that was the result of the birth of her dungeon.
  • Stepford Smiler: Tends to hide her loneliness and struggles because she doesn't want to burden anyone.
  • Supreme Chef: It's mentioned that she's a good cook and it's something she enjoys.
  • Teen Idol: She's considered to be a local star on social media, having her own YouTube and Instagram accounts.
  • Those Two Girls: Often seen with Devin, given they're childhood friends.
  • Vanity Is Feminine: She's the most feminine and the most concerned about her looks, which makes sense given she's a sort of internet celebrity.
  • Weight Woe: Worries about this, which makes sense given her public image on the internet.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Towards her mother, who would criticize her at everything she did due to her mother's resentment and jealousy about giving up her career to raise her daughter.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: Her mother is often away or out due to her mother's career as a local politician.

Neutrals

    Moon - Yuzuki Koizumi 
  • Spoiled Sweet: Despite having a wealthy upbringing she doesn't let it get to her head.
  • Solar and Lunar: She's represented by the Moon arcana, while Leonardo's is the Sun.
  • Sweet Tooth: She especially likes cakes and pastries.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: She can sew and enjoys embroidery.
  • Token Mini-Moe: Yuzuki is the shortest character in the roleplay, being only 4'10", and looks younger than she is.
  • Token Rich Student: While Leonardo also comes from a rich family (or did) there's more focus on Yuzuki being the rich one.
  • Twice Shy: Yuzuki and Leonardo have feelings for each other but neither of them has the guts to confess.
  • White Magic: Due to her interest in the occult she knows her way around spellcasting and witchcraft.
  • Yaoi Fan Girl: Though she likes to keep it a secret.

    Sun - Leonardo Devereux 
  • Addiction Displacement: While Leonardo has quit taking steroids, it seems he has moved on from drugs to alcohol. He was also on cigarettes long before his drugs habit.
  • Childhood Friends: With Yuzuki, they were neighbours.
  • Cowardly Lion: Leonardo has a lot of fears that cause him to cower in a corner, but he won't back down from a fight if it's for a good cause.
  • Cower Power: Does this a lot, mainly Played for Laughs
  • Delinquent Hair: His lavender hair with purple streaks is actually dyed, he's really a brunette.
  • Determinator: In his blurb he's described as "the type to give in easily, and you give your all when attempting something, no matter what".
  • Dumb Jock: Leonardo is great at sports but sucks at academics.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's described in his blurb as having a "fiery spirit" and is hot-headed.
  • I Have No Son!: Was kicked out by his family after they found out about his drug taking.
  • Ironic Name: Leonardo means "brave lion" yet he has a lot of fears.
  • Japanese Delinquents: Leonardo gets mistaken for one, though he isn't Japanese. He dyes his hair, looks scary, smokes, has a knife, gets into fights (only against bullies), and occasionally skips school. Yeah, you can see why.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: When Leonardo was a kid, he wanted to keep a cat he found but wasn't allowed, and then gave the cat to Yuzuki on her tenth birthday.
  • Minor Living Alone: Eventually moved into an apartment after he got kicked out of his parent's house.

    Wheel of Fortune - Kaguya Hanasaki 
  • Born Lucky: In her blurb it says she's a very lucky person.

    Death 
  • Hyper-Awareness: It says in his blurb that he can "figure out a person’s darkest secret just from the clothes they wear".

    Hierophant - Takeru Okazaki 
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Due to his bounds of absent-mindedness he gets called "Grandpa" by his co-workers and students.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Is referred by his co-workers and students as "Grandpa", much to his dismay. Doesn't help that he has white hair either.
  • For Science!: In his blurb it describes him as "like a scientist who wishes to learn more about the species known as women".
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Is known for his conservative and mature ways and is always willing to give advice to anyone who needs it.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Though he's an adult it's described his knowledge surpasses that of individuals his age.

Marionette League

    Empress - Shino Kamiya 
  • Mama Bear: Can become quite defensive if anyone harms her "children".

    Star - Hoshi Hisakawa / "Heart" 
  • Creepy Loner Girl: Was known as this growing up, before the events of her parents' deaths.
  • Cruella to Animals: She has no problem actually dissecting insects and small animals for fun.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: She enjoys wearing shiro, sweet, and punk lolita outfits.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite enjoying killing things and being a borderline Yandere she cares a lot for the members of the Marionette League as she sees them like her new family.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Hoshi had her hair cut, dyed her black hair to blonde and changed her hairstyle to avoid being hunted down by the same people that had killed her family.
  • Hopeless with Tech: She knows how to use a cell phone, but computers are a different matter.
  • Perky Female Minion: Has some traits of this, being the youngest and cutest member of the Marionette League.
  • Petite Pride: She has no issues about her small chest and sees it as an asset to her "Moe" appeal.
  • Playing with Syringes: Her weapon are syringes, to match her Naughty Nurse Outfit.
  • The Pollyanna: She's very cheerful and upbeat when she's not being creepy.
  • The Runaway: After finding out her parents were dead, she feared for her life and went on the run, causing her to live on the streets for a short while.
  • Stalker with a Crush: She has photos of Leonardo on her phone and is always following him around.
  • Stepford Smiler: Hoshi acts optimistic and cheerful, but she just uses it because she believes it's what people expect from her, hiding her unstable side.
  • Sweet Tooth: She especially likes chocolate and lollipops.
  • Symbol Motif Clothing: She wears a pair of black star-shaped hairpins and her arcana is the Star.
  • Terrible Artist: She enjoys drawing but knows she doesn't have any talent for it.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: She thinks straight out of classic fairy tales and sees Leonardo as her "knight in shining armour".
  • Token Mini-Moe: Hoshi is the youngest member of the Marionette League and she does enjoy playing up the Moe factor.
  • Unknown Rival: Hoshi considers Yuzuki a rival for Leonardo's affections, though Yuzuki is unaware of their rivalry.

    Tower - Adam Vadik / "Reaper" 
  • Black Cloak: Sports one with a hood as part of his Mirror Realm disguise.
  • Broken Ace: He puts on a perfect facade but underneath he's angry and bitter at the world.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Adam is half Russian, half Japanese.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: Became more cynical at the world after he had to quit his job as an idol due to throat cancer.
  • The Dragon: Is the right hand to Shino in the Marionette League.
  • Sea Serpents: His Marionette takes the form of Leviathan.
  • Sinister Scythe: Wields one as his weapon, befitting his code name, Reaper.
  • Stepford Smiler: Underneath his kind and gentle persona is anger and bitterness.
  • Student Council President: He's the vice president, something he takes very seriously, mainly to keep up his reputation.

    Hanged Man 
  • The Chew Toy: He tends to be the personal punching bag for Shino.
  • Extreme Doormat: He can come off as a bit of a pushover.
  • Lazy Bum: He doesn't want to put in any effort unless he's forced to.
  • The Slacker: He likes to do as little as possible.
  • The Stoic: He's described as being calm and uncaring.

    Devil - Name 
  • The Charmer: He's known to be a charmer but only when it suits him in order to get what he wants.
  • The Gadfly: Seems to enjoy provoking and pranking people.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He's known to have a way with words and isn't at all fazed or hesitant when it comes to coaxing others into doing what he wants.
