    Aurora

Aurora (Voiced by Minami Takayama)

An offspring of the Rune God, after he encountered a mortal woman and impregnated her while cursing the husband. Ever since then, she came to hate the Rune God and anything related to him, especially Mana, while finding shelter within the company of the anti-Mana beast Endorian.

  • Foil: Towards Bulnoil from Forsena, both of them opposing their own godlike entity with their own devilish beast. But while Bulnoil is selfish and only in for his own gain, Aurora is indirectly on the human's side from her own opinion, seeing her actions as necessary to free the humans from the grip of a tyrannical God.
  • Nay-Theist: She hates the Rune God or anything related to it. However, in Mana Saleesia scenario, if Rudo sides with him, she's surprisingly okay with Rudo's claims as the new God, but she's still not bowing to him and just gave him a warning that he's the next recipient of her wrath in case he goes mad with power.
  • Nephilim: She's born from a human mother and a God for a father.
  • Schmuck Bait: When encountered in battle, your first instinct would be to target her so she could not bother you as you pound on Endorian. However, doing so instead triggers a massive buff towards Endorian that makes him harder to kill, thus she's better off being ignored in battle.
  • Stripperiffic: She's not wearing much. At all.
  • Unreliable Narrator: While she makes good points, most of the things that came from her mouth are basically driven by her own personal hatred against the Rune God, and if she's not sided with, the Rune God shows a more pleasant attitude, so how much her words are to be trusted can get murky.

    Endorian

Endorian

A great beast that caused a calamity in the past, requiring the original wielders of the five Brigandine to unite and defeat it, but it only fell back, waiting for another chance to strike from the Death Valley. It is Aurora's companion.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: When it appears, it delivers a massive stomping to your army, petrifying all of them except Golems or those wielding a Brigandine, and in third turn, it defeats your team, no questions.
  • The Dreaded: A giant beast with massive power will of course instill dread on your army when it appears.
  • The Speechless: It's a beast, it doesn't talk, of course.
  • Taken for Granite: One of its signature attacks is the Petro Breath, which will cause petrification to a massive number of people caught in the area.

    The Rune God

The Rune God

The God who gave the blessing of Mana towards humans, and letting them shape history as they see fit. However, he's not above some petty moves, which eventually resulted the creation of Aurora.

  • Ambiguously Evil: While Aurora portrays him as a mad, evil God akin to the Demiurge, the Rune God shows that he's content with humans shaping their own destiny for good and bad, instead of being a Control Freak. In some endings, he gave his approval to whoever wins in the end, and leaves the humans in peace. Of course, if anyone ever tries to peek on his secrets, he's very wrathful.
  • God Is Evil: At least that's what Aurora claims him to be, though he plays this trope straight if you side with Aurora.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Occasionally lets out an unsettling, inhuman scream.
  • "Instant Death" Radius: His Judgement Arrows attack. It hits all targets in its path for a thousand damage. Better move your troops out of range before he launches it !
  • Jerkass Gods: Regardless of what he did, it can't be denied that his actions that led to the birth of Aurora is a massive dick move, comparable to that of Zeus. And if anyone tries to inquire his secret, he'll deliver great Disproportionate Retribution, as what happened to Rubino's father.
  • Mook Maker: In his battle he can use the five Brigandines to create replicas of the nation rulers (Tim is the only one who doesn't get one) that shield him from damage.
  • Not Good with Rejection: He's benevolent, only as long as you're on his side and not betraying him. Otherwise, he will lay his wrath upon you.
  • Rain of Arrows: His signature attack, Judgement Arrows, throws several enormous arrows of light at the enemy.
  • Secret Test of Character: In the Rune God Ending for Guimoule, he's portrayed as taking the whole thing as this. Maybe what Aurora said was right that Mana was corruptive and he did some dickish actions. But, he wants to see if the humans with Mana can see through the more obvious, emotional response and still kept the responsibility of not misusing the Mana he gave. As a result, after approving Eliza, the Rune God dispersed on his own, content that Runersia will be in good hands under someone as responsible as her.
  • The Speechless: Just like Endorian, he does not speak, so we don't really get his point of view about what he did, murking Aurora's claims about him further.
