Dr. Dudley Dabble
- Debuted in: Math Blaster Mystery: The Great Brain Robbery (1994)
- Abhorrent Admirer: Was this to Bobbi Fright when they were kids. He kept giving her big gifts that she hated because they were more inconvenient then they were worth, but he wouldn't listen. Bobbi chose her future husband Lou over Dabble because Lou's gifts were small and thoughtful.

- Bald of Evil: Has no hair on the top of his head.
- Evil Laugh: More of a cackle, but he does one in The Great Brain Robbery.
- Evil Redhead: He's shown with some red hair around his ears in later depictions.
- Forced Transformation: In Reading Blaster Ages 9-12, he kidnaps several of Bizarroville's citizens who had wronged him in the past and turns them into various inanimate objects based on what they did to him.
- Large Ham
- Mad Scientist
- Monster Mash: His mansion contained quite a few monsters in The Great Brain Robbery.
- Morally Ambiguous Doctorate
- Not Me This Time: He's one of seven possible culprits of various minor crimes in Reading Blaster Vocabulary.
- Revenge: His motive in Reading Blaster Ages 9-12.
- Token Human: While his "Wanted!" Poster depicts him as a human (and thus the only human villain), the games depict him with blue skin and the town he lives in is a Halloweentown, suggesting that this probably isn't the case. He's still the most normal-looking guy there, though.
Lydia Novella

- Mission Control: She serves as this for Rave because as a ghost she can't do anything.
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Despite being a major supporting character in Reading Blaster: Ages 9-12, she's completely absent from the next two games.

- Plucky Girl: She sounds to be a very cheerful girl, she even seems to enjoy spooking Rave for fun.

A married couple. Lou "Boo" Fright is a Bungling Inventor. Bobbi "Sox" Fright, née Sax is a Glurge Addict housewife.

- Happily Married: Lou and Bobbi, with Bobbi explaining she chose Lou over Dabble because Lou gave Bobbi gifts demonstrating he paid attention to her and knew what she liked.
- High-School Sweethearts: Lou and Bobbi's relationship started in high school.
- Love Triangle: In their high school days, Lou and Bobbi were in one with Dudley Dabble.
Coach Gulliver Lilliput
- Debuted in: Reading Blaster: Ages 9-12 (1997)
The local gym teacher.
- Meaningful Name: He's named in reference to Gulliver's Travels. Lilliput is a land of tiny people, where Gulliver (the protagonist, obviously) appears to be a giant by comparison. Appropriately, Gulliver Lilliput is a bit huge.
- Physical Fitness Punishment: Gulliver Lilliput is quite fond of this.
Gloria Ghastly
- Debuted in: Reading Blaster: Ages 9-12 (1997)
A glamorous movie star who acts in cheesy horror flicks.
- B-Movie: Gloria Ghastly's movies seem to be stereotypical B-Movie fare with titles like Revenge of the Creature that Wouldn't Stop Burping. In fact, she mentions recently being cast in a superhero movie as a villain called "The Scrambler."
- Celeb Crush: In Reading Blaster Ages 9-12, Rave appears to have a crush on Gloria Ghastly.
- Cool Shades: She is always wearing sunglasses. In Reading Blaster Ages 9-12, her yearbook entry quotes her saying, "A girl can never have too many pairs of sunglasses."
- Facial Horror: Gloria Ghastly wears bandages to hide how her face was damaged during a botched face lift, the latest in over ninety she's had.
- Serial Spouse: Her profile in Reading Blaster Vocabulary reveals that she's been married thirteen times.
- White-Dwarf Starlet: According to her newspaper story in Reading Blaster Ages 9-12, Gloria is 96 years old and has only just accepted that her career as a leading lady is over.

- It's All About Me: Mayor O'Cassidy's firm belief.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: In her newspaper article in Reading Blaster Ages 9-12, Jackie recounts how she used her City Hall connections (her mother was the mayor back then) to win the race for class president.
- Spoiled Brat: Jackie O'Cassidy in her youth, when her mother was the mayor.

A failed stand-up comic who now works as the town librarian.

- "Knock Knock" Joke: These are said to be his specialty.
- Produce Pelting: Gorky suffered a "rotten tomato overdose" during his failed stand-up career.
