     Alliances

The Six

(Neda, Ika, Demetres, Kevin, Bruno, Cassandra)
  • Characters Dropping Like Flies: Half of the six is gone, and of the other half, only Ika and Demetres are still together while Kevin is actively targeting them.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Had Ika not flipped, Neda not decided to go after Cassandra, Cassandra not made herself untrustworthy, the six could have easily dominated the game between Demetres's epic head of household run.

The French Connection

(Dre, William, Ika)

The Peasants

(Kevin, Bruno, Jackie)
  • Epic Fail: Did not stay together more than a week.
  • Remember the New Guy?: On the episodes, the fact that Jackie, Kevin, and Bruno were in a small alliance for a bit will come out of nowhere - but this had actually appeared on the feeds.

     The Winner

Kevin Martin

A poker player from Calgary, Alberta. Kevin is looking to take fewer gambles with his game after falling victim to the first-ever triple eviction in season 3.

For tropes from his first season, see here.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Even moreso than last time he was here, as he has made out with Will several times and confessed how much he likes him as a person. Though he has stressed that this is just to get close to William, that hasn't stopped many viewers (and houseguests) from wondering if he might just be in denial about his true feelings.
    • Subverted as Kevin told William to his face he only saw him as a friend. Let's just say William was not happy with that. Although he did reveal at one point he's in a relationship with a guy and still loves Pilar meaning he's straight out Bi and not Ambiguous.
  • Anti-Hero: Kevin is a good guy and surprisingly humble, but he's made some questionable game choices, even if he backstabbed The Six.
  • Big Bad: You could argue he's become the main villain of the season now that all of his alliance members are gone, and he's in the "dark" side of the house. Subverted as he seemed more heroic than Ika and Demetres.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Bruno and William.
  • Dragon Ascendant: Now that both Sindy and Neda are eliminated, Kevin's the obvious choice to lead the remnants of the six.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Voted Neda out with the rest of the house, and was apparently plotting to backstab her from the start.
  • Foil: To Neda. Both are intelligent strategists who had everything go right for them in the beginning then disaster dominos struck. But while Neda is incredibly catty and doesn't give a damn about her allies until she's evicted, Kevin is genuinely nice and cares for all his allies. It was this loyalty and humble attitude that gave him the win.
  • Flawless Victory/No-Damage Run: Kevin got every single jury vote while somehow not getting a single eviction vote.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Was able to successfully convince William to use his secret POV on him... without even knowing he had one.
  • Not Me This Time: He tells Karen that he didn't find the secret POV. He's telling the truth.
  • Sadistic Choice: Presents Karen with one at the end of the final five veto and for the final four vote: Either vote the way he wants against Ika and tie the votes so he can break the tie and eliminate Demetres, or vote out her friend Dillon. What seemed as a stupid move is really clever when you realize he's negating one of the two remaining final twos so the chances of someone taking him to the end will increase.
    • While it ultimately backfired, it got rid of a huge threat to win (Dillon) anyway. And Kevin would then go on to eliminate Ika and Demetres in the next two votes.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Compared to the majority of other returning houseguests, Kevin is just trying to get to the end and befriends almost everyone in the house. He tells William the showmance was a lie and he sees him as a friend, but you can tell there was a genuine connection between the two similar to Tai and Caleb in Survivor Kaoh Rong, and definitely not as manipulative as Zankie from Big Brother 16 US. Plus he's very protective of his allies, trying to fight tooth and nail to get Bruno out while pretending he wasn't in an alliance with him anymore and even voted to keep Sindy when the rest of the house flipped on her.
  • Underdogs Never Lose: Kevin was an underdog for the better half of the season, since all his allies were voted out (the Jury was even expecting him to be sitting there instead of Ika) yet Curb Stomped Karen in a 9-0 vote.

     The Runner Up

Karen Singbeil

A real estate broker from Victoria, BC. This mother of three thinks her ability to adapt will give her an edge in the house.

  • Action Mom: Could you believe this 53 year old mother could be so physically competent? No one expected her of all people to do well in endurance competitions - even without Sindy's help.
  • Arch-Enemy: Kevin. One has to wonder what exactly went on between those two for her to have such a venomous hate for Kevin.
  • Cool Old Lady: Easily one of the kindest houseguests not to mention deceptively good at challenges.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Played for laughs during the HOH following Mark's boot. She even claims to be the gym teacher everyone hates.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: See below.
  • Only Friend: Gary is her only friend in the house. Has switched to Dillon now that Gary is out.
  • Sanity Slippage: After the mysterious secret POV user found it, uses it on Kevin, and Demetres puts up her... She goes nuts.
  • Unpopular Popular Character: Despite that the other competitors seem to think very little of her, the fans apparently are enjoying her.

     The Jury

Neda Kalantar

An entrepreneur from Vancouver, BC. An admitted Big Brother strategist, Neda is looking for redemption after her game was cut short by her closest ally Jon in season 2.

For tropes from her first season, see here.

  • Alpha Bitch: Neda's playing a much cattier game this season having a select group of six vs the rest of the house, treating anyone outside the six like garbage.
  • Big Bad: Seems to be taking this role as of late having got rid of a fan favourite houseguest in Gary.
  • Disc-One Final Boss
  • Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead: Everyone cheered when she was evicted.
  • Kick the Dog: Playfully told Sindy to wait in the corner and said that everyone who passes by has to insult her. A few hours later, Sindy was crying.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The very second her immunity ends, it's her own alliance that backdoors her.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Does she ever! She starts off playing to Canada to gain the immunity till Jury and once she has it, she drops the act and starts treating everyone (particularly Gary) like garbage even laughing at the idea of him being on slop and being the least liked houseguest.
  • Pet the Dog: Her exit message to Gary.
  • The Scrappy: In-Universe. Everyone cheered when she was eliminated and put on the block and booed when she tried to call out Ika. But it's her own damn fault for playing such a catty game.

Sindy (With an "S") Nguyen

A beauty queen from Toronto, Ontario. A competition beast in season 3, Sindy is looking to improve her social game for a second shot at the win.

  • Crocodile Tears: How she was able to attempt to get votes. As you can see, it didn't work.
  • History Repeats: She is evicted and sent to jury the week after she helped orchestrate a blindside on a major player, the exact same position she was in her last season.
  • Irony: She claims every one in her alliance betrayed her and yet Kevin was the one who voted for her to stay.
  • Sadistic Choice: Obviously choosing to backdoor Neda was this.

For tropes from her first season, see here.

Bruno Ielo

A construction worker from Ottowa, Ontario. Bruno is looking for a second chance after a coup d’état twist led to his departure in season 3.

For tropes from his first season, see here.

Jackie Mc Currach

A pizza maker from Port Coquitlam, BC. Fun, outgoing, and silly, this fiery redhead is a guys’ girl who plans to focus on mental strength, and keeping her head in the game.

  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Does surprisingly well during a veto competition that she absolutely needs.
  • Informed Attribute: A lot of people were afraid of her for some reason - but see Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass wherein she pulls off key wins when she needs them.
  • Living Prop: Acts like this.
  • True Neutral: Is perhaps the closest example in the game to this. Due in part to Jackie being by herself, she is quick to float to whichever side has power - which has gotten a big target off of her back.

Dre Gwenaelle

A masters student from Montreal, Quebec. Brains, beauty and a sassy attitude, Masters student Andre “Dre” Gwenaelle is a force to be reckoned with.

  • Backstab Backfire: Was planning on cutting Ika loose. Unfortunately for her she fell victim to the Triple Eviction, Kevin won POV, and Dre was eliminated with William.
  • Enemy Mine: For a while, actually planned on working with Ika until she decided she wanted a newbie to win.
  • Jerkass: Not to the extent of Neda but she was practically invisible before she was put up and said some extremely cruel things to Gary in hopes of getting the house's votes.
  • The Mole: Appears to be in an alliance with Ika and Demetres yet she's perfectly happy with sending Ika home to have an "all newbies" game.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: She intends to pull this with Ika.

William Laprise Desbiens

A student and blogger from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. This French-Canadian is looking to be himself and have fun in the house...but if he has to do some backstabbing in the process, he will.

  • Break the Cutie: On the receiving end by Kevin who revealed to him that he was using him, and only thinks of him as a friend not a showmance. Though to be fair, Kevin probably found love and genuinely likes William as a person. Then again when he fell victim to the exact same twist that cost his friend the game last time. Though he's actually not bitter towards Kevin.
  • Camp Gay: Not to the extent of Gary, but he's pretty flirty with male houseguests especially Kevin.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: This was his reaction when Kevin made a promise to use the veto and didn't.
  • Geek Physique: Of the extremely skinny type.
  • Lovable Coward: He went nuts when the rats were sent loose, but not to the extent of Ika and Dre.
  • Nice Guy: But don't betray his trust, or flirt with him and then decide you're not interested. Subverted as he's not bitter towards Kevin for not keeping him.

Dillon Carman

A professional boxer from Madoc, Ontario. This professional boxer and current Canadian Heavyweight Champ is a strong and powerful competitor, but a teddy bear at heart.

  • Character Development: The editing for the show has given him this. In the first two weeks, Dillon was shown as a Hot Headed musclehead who was going to, just like Kyle from Season 2 and Emmett from Season 1, were going to be targeted as threats. But then, over the course of the show, he goes from being Locked Out of the Loop seemingly intentionally to everybody's secret alliance member.
  • Hot-Blooded: Got into several fights with male houseguests particularly Demetres and Dallas.
  • Pet the Dog: Genuinely likes Karen as a person and makes it clear she's his ride or die after Emily is voted out.

Ika Wong

A financial services manager from Thornhill, Ontario. Unapologetic and sassy, Ika shredded her chance to win along with those letters in season 2, and is looking to take this second chance one week at a time.

For tropes from her first season, see here.

  • Dragon with an Agenda: Succeeds Cassandra as this.
  • The Mole: At first, it seems like she is this for "The Six"... but as it turns out, she was actually this for the French Connection!
  • My Greatest Second Chance: Played entirely straight - orchestrated everyone's blindside
  • Only Sane Woman: She viewed herself (and Demetres) as the only sane ones in the six. Little did she know that Kevin, Bruno, and Sindy were on the same train of thought as she was, though Sindy a little less so.
  • The Starscream: Plans to be this to Neda's alliance after Gary's eviction.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: At least, compared to her (pre-eviction) behaviour in season 2.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Weren't she and Neda cool at one point? What happened between them?
  • Wham Line: "Get her out".

Demetres Giannitsos

An oil field technician from Edson, Alberta. This confident, self-possessed beefcake loves to workout, and is looking to align with alpha males to make it to the end.

  • Dragon with an Agenda: Along with Ika. The editing made Demetres off as thinking he joined the six with an agenda.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Allegedly, Bruno and Kevin wanted to off him the second the six became the final six.
  • Dumb Jock: Subverted. He's actually very clever and nearly beat Kevin at a puzzle competition even without Ika's help.
  • Hunk: While Kevin is arguably more of a Bishonen, Demetres is a straight out hunk who all the single girls have admitted to having a crush on. Almost everyone comments on how gorgeous he is both in and out of the house.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Oh yes. There have been a few times when he's taken off his shirt and said "your welcome, Canada" to the cameras.
  • One Of These Is Not Like The Other: Is the only newcomer to join the six.
  • Sadistic Choice: Has to choose to evict Dre or Gary.
  • Shoot the Dog: Gary's eviction was this for him.

     Eliminated Houseguests:

Mark Chrysler

A bartender from Edmonton, Alberta. This fun, outgoing, fitness-lover is looking to dominate in physical challenges and with his social game.

  • Mr. Fanservice: He could have been this if he hadn't been evicted so early.
  • Tall Poppy Syndrome: Karen put him up alongside Demetres week one mainly because they were physical threats.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Voted out immediately over self proclaimed Greek God Demetres.

Dallas Cormier

A lobster fisherman and welder from St. John, New Brunswick. After being voted out by his allies in season 4, Dallas is focused on really getting to know each houseguest during his second chance.

For tropes from his first season, see here.

  • Cassandra Truth: Told all the vets to stay together but they didn't listen and sent him packing. Dallas is getting the last laugh as of right now since there are only two vets that are remaining in the game, three of which left the house in a row after each other (only broken up by Emily)

Cassandra Shahinfar

A marketing manager from Winnipeg, Manitoba. A deceitful and cunning player in season 4, Cassandra has no intentions of switching up her strategy, but will try and make her fellow houseguests believe otherwise.

For tropes from her first season, see here.

Gary Levy

An artist from Toronto Ontario. The first runner up in season 1, Gary is looking to claim the crown after losing it the first time around to a voting mishap.

For tropes from his first season, see here.

  • Camp Gay: As usual, but this time he's transgender.
  • The Friend No One Likes: It certainly seems this way after the six voted almost unanimously to get him on the block and then there's the cruel comments said by Neda and Dre.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Much to Ika's frustration.
  • Nice Guy: Along with Karen, is one of the kindest houseguests, which is why he was a threat to win.
  • Only Friend: The only person Karen trusts.

Emily Hawkin

A musician from Toronto, Ontario. This quirky singer-songwriter is waiting to see what the house has in store before deciding on her plan of attack.
