Original Characters
Hanyuu
Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter; the fic opens with her birth.
- All Genes Are Codominant: She looks like a human with black dog ears, purple hair, claws, and fangs.
- Artistic License – Biology: Is referred to as a half-demon, but technically, she's only 1/4th demon.
- Brought Down to Normal: Like all half-demons, she becomes a powerless human one day a month; in her case, on the night of the full moon.
- Child Prodigy: She has unusually high mental clarity from the minute she's born, realizing that Ren is kidnapping her, recognizing Kagome's fear of Arina and Ren and trying to calm her down, and even managing to write her name.
- Cute Mute: She develops the ability to speak telepathically instead.
- Expy: Appears to be based on Furude Hanyuu from Higurashi: When They Cry in both name and design, though she has black dog ears as opposed to horns.
- Friend to All Children: In Arc Two chapter 9, a group of wolf demon cubs are instantly smitten with her.
- Meaningful Name: "Hanyuu" is one letter away from "hanyou."
- Rapid Aging: A month after her birth, she's physically in her early-to-mid teens.
- Reincarnation: Of Haya.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Is noted to more closely resemble Kagome than Inuyasha.
- Three-Month-Old Newborn: From the minute she's born, she has a full head of hair, can open her eyes, and even laugh and smile.
- Unusual Ears: She has black dog ears that are stated to be bigger than Inuyasha's and point downwards slightly.
- Winged Humanoid: From Arc One chapter 45 onwards.
Arina
Part of the Big Bad Ensemble of the first arc, though she reforms at the end of Arc One.
- A Birthday, Not a Break: Arc One chapter 7, which consists of a flashback detailing Arina's Backstory, establishes that her Start of Darkness occurred on her eleventh birthday.
- Arc Villain: As stated already, she is the main villain of Arc One.
- Elemental Powers: She's an elemental demon.
- Heel–Face Turn: At the end of the first arc.
- Interspecies Romance: She's an elemental demon, Ren is a Shikigami-powered human/dragon.
- Stealthy Teleportation: According to Ren, "teleportation is her specialty.", and it's been described as "vanish[ing] into thin air".
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Everything she did throughout the fic (kidnapping Hanyuu and Sango and Miroki's kids, resurrecting Kikyo and Naraku, etc.) was all so she could help Ren get back home to the future... which turned out to be unnecessary, since Ren is perfectly comfortable in the Feudal Era.
Ren Avalon
Arina's lover and Dragon, in more ways than one. He actually comes from the modern era just like Kagome, having been Hojo's best friend.
- Arc Villain: Along with Arina, he's the primary villain of Arc One.
- Breath Weapon: Fire.
- Implausible Hair Color: He and his sisters are natural Japanese redheads.
