These are the supporting protagonists of Ascension (2013). In the first chapter, we are introduced to Tahn, Sky's father, and Airdan. In the second chapter, we meet Ava and Captain Nina. In the third chapter, we meet Kyra.
Tahn
Tahn is Sky's father, and helped Sky revive Aida while she was on the verge of death. He died by the hand of the Eagles.
- Deadpan Snarker: To Aida: "I suppose you're done putting my daughter in danger?"
- Deceased Parents Are the Best: Averted, he used to argue with his daughter often, and Sky blamed him for his mother's death
Victor
A human blacksmith apprentice who lives on Sundrop Island. He is Faelern's good friend, and Aida met him in the beginning of the second chapter, where he fixed Aida's daggers for her.
- The Blacksmith: This is a plot point in the third chapter.
- He Knows Too Much: Diego reveals after his death that being a blacksmith, he discovered that the weapons that the Silver Order brought to him were off, and was subsequently taken into a dungeon for execution.

- Mercy Kill: After being subjected to a wound from the Silver Order's weapons, Aida is forced to kill him before he completely petrifies.

Ava
Ava is an elderly alchemist who lives on Sundrop Island. She is consulted by Aida, who was troubled by constant nightmares and wanted a sleeping potion. She convinces Aida that it would be better to isolate herself from her friends, and Ava is proven wrong over the events of the second and third chapters.
Captain Nina
A Lith woman who runs a ship. She meets Aida in the second chapter and helps Aida and company whenever they need a ship.
- I Call It "Vera": She named her ship the Savage Princess, and will correct anyone who refers to it as a ship.
- Little Bit Beastly: As a Lith, she has little black ears to match her hair.
- Older Than She Looks: She looks nowhere near 47 years old with a child.
Kyra Bannier
A human Derenian doctor, née Katherine Lytton working in Adeshia. In the third chapter, she is implied to have joined Aida's True Companions.
- Deadpan Snarker: Towards Tillie, whose use of magic she disagrees with.
- I Am Young and Need the Money: She writes smut novels (one named Kaleik Moans) to pay for education.
- The Medic
- Muggles Do It Better: She vehemently disagreed with using potions to heal ailments, much to Tillie's dismay.
- No Social Skills: She admits to it herself.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Tillie, when Aida advises the two to work together to find a cure for wounds inflicted by the Silver Order's weapons.
- The Stoic: Debatably more serious than Faelern.
