Renato "Buwitre" Hipolito
Portrayed by: John Arcilla
A member of the Pulang Araw, inserted into the government to protect them. Instead, he tried to ruin Cardo's image by spreading lies about him. After that he betrayed the Pulang Araw by ordering a strike on their hideout. Later on he would join forces with Lucas Cabrera in order to take down Vendetta. After Lucas was killed and he got wounded, he would wander off the streets until he came across the group of Jacob Serrano.
- Arc Villain: He's the overarching villain of Book 2 and the Arch-Enemies of Cardo and President Hidalgo.
- Arch-Enemy:
- He's this for Cardo for indirectly killing his young son (Hipolito's ally Lucio made the bombs that killed him and Homer's men planted it on the site where he is killed) and destroying the country through his evil schemes in ruling the country at the palm of his hand.
- To President Hidalgo for killing his second family and ruining his reputation through his Body Double Mariano.
- Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: He has betrayed multiple allies, in order: the Pulang Araw, Lily, and Arturo Padua.
- Dirty Coward: He manages to escape from the authorities twice. He also doesn't trust anyone but himself, Jacob, Homer, and Lucio and resorts to leave his former allies dead when he realizes that they were useless in his plans to rule the country.
- Easily Forgiven: He gets pardoned for his crimes by Mariano, and is allowed to later run as a presidential candidate in the elections. This gets subverted once Vice President Hernandez turns on them with the help of Cardo, his allies and the real President Hidalgo (whose death was faked by Lily by turning Mariano into a suicide bomber when Agila and her men exchange hostages) and retreats to his remaining ally Lucio along with Art and Eduardo.
- Enemy Civil War: He's at odds with Lily since she wanted to rule the country as well.
- Hero Killer: He manages to kill off the Task Force Agila memebers with a mix of clever tactics, Zerg Rushes, and personally killing them when they go down. He could have killed off Cardo as well if it wasn't for Oscar going back for him and mowing Renato down along with several of his men.
- Karmic Death: He's killed by the person whose position he wanted the most: Oscar Hidalgo.
- Meaningful Name: He's known in the Pulang Araw as "Buwitre", which is Filipino for Vultures. Not only is he a repulsive monster with a Chronic Backstabbing Disorder, but he's also physically dangerous as well. And much like a vulture, he leaves his former allies dead once he had no use of them. Just ask Pinuno, Cabrera, Uwak, and Art.
- Near-Villain Victory: In the Final Battle, his men managed to mow down Cardo to near-death. Instead of shooting his head immediately then having his men find Hidalgo, he got caught monologuing which gave Hidalgo enough time to save Cardo and finally ending his threat once and for all.
