All Might's closest friend on the force, he has been trusted with some of All Might's greatest secrets and helps organize the investigation into Mysterio and the Prowler.

  • By-the-Book Cop: He's a firm believer in following the law and is tough on Vigilantes like Peter as a result. This belief was enforced by something terrible that happened to the Crawler.
  • The Commissioner Gordon: He fills out All Might's paperwork for him and the two are constantly exchanging information on ongoing crime. He's also shown working with Endeavor on the Mysterio case.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Tsukauchi wonders what must be going through the "Spider-Man copycat's" head to make him resort to vigilantism. At that moment, Peter is just thinking about how hungry he is.
  • Living Lie Detector: This is the name and function of his Quirk verbatim. So long as he's in the vicinity of someone, he'll get a mental ping whenever they lie. This makes him exceptionally good at getting information out of crooks, as he'll be able to sift the truth from the lies as long as he can keep his suspect talking. But it doesn't work if the speaker genuinely believes that they are telling the truth. So when Peter fesses up and honestly tells him everything he knows, Tsukauchi and Endeavor mostly write him off as a mental ward escapee.
    • Tsukauchi is slightly justified in taking this approach with Peter, as he recalls a rather poignant example of when he interrogated a man who honestly believed that he needed to hurt his wife and children.
  • Secret-Keeper: He's one of the few people entrusted with All Might's secret identity and the secret of One For All.
  • Shout-Out: In his musings about why they need to bring Peter in for his vigilantism, he mentions "the Crawler Incident," referencing the main protagonist of the spin-off My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.
