Mario

The hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario is smug, prideful, and conceited, but deep down is a good and true friend.

Tropes that apply to Mario:

• Big Eater: He eats a lot — to the point where Eggman has to call Knuckles up to stop him from eating Sweet Mountain.

• Speaks Fluent Animal: He can understand Yoshi.
• Stout Strength: He is fat and strong. He refers to it by thinking that being fat is an advantage when you have to "smash stuff".

Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog, quickest hedgehog in the world. He's always quick to rush into adventure, and always there when there's a friend in need.

Tropes that apply to Sonic:

• Catchphrase: "Let's go trash the place!" with a couple of variations. As it turns out, it was just to bother Luigi and he stops once they actually do trash the place.

• Smug Super: According to him, besides being the "fasting thing alive", he also “looks awesome while doing it”.
• Totally Radical: Sonic, if you say “trash the place” one more time... Well, at least he stops after they actually do trash the place.

Luigi

Mario's little brother.

Tropes that apply to Luigi:

• Embarrassing Nickname: Sonic refers to Luigi as “Mr. Greenie”.

• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Luigi is terrified of ghosts and they do appear in the story to freak him out.

Tails

Sonic's surrogate little brother, the nicest and youngest of the four heroes.

Tropes that apply to Tails:

• Innocent Prodigy: Very good with machines, but has a rather childish worldview.
