The Town Over
The Town Over is the seediest of the three towns in Academy of Merlin. It's not wise to go here unless you have to - or unless you're used to it, of course.
A & B
Childish twins that are never apart and enjoy playing jokes on people. They lack Xander's signature tattoo. Ex-members of Xander's gang.
- Always Identical Twins: They look fairly identical, with their only differences being their eyes and hoodies. And one's hair is longer than the other.
- All Your Powers Combined: Together, they can bend sound and give themselves a huge edge.
- Blow You Away: B is a windwielder.
- Hot-Blooded: A is quicker to anger than B, but only when B is in trouble.
- Identical Twin ID Tag: A is slightly taller and has longer hair than B.
- Just Toying with Them: They never go all out on a fight.
- Lightning Bruiser: They move fast and hit hard.
- Mysterious Past: Very little is known about them even within the gang.
- Sibling Team: They always fight as a team; if they don't, they get disoriented.
- Single-Minded Twins: Or, at the very least, they always know what the other is going to do.
- Stuff Blowing Up: A is a boomwielder.
- The Trickster: B is fond of pranks.

A healer, not a fighter. Also lacks Xander's signature tattoo.
- Animated Tattoo: His tattoos actually move.
- Butt-Monkey: Compared to Magnolia, he's not all that powerful, so he's regularly bullied by the other guys.
- Emotional Bruiser: The guy's built like a brick house. Are you going to tell him he can't cry? Didn't think so.
- Gentle Giant: Despite his height breaking six feet, 5 is quite gentle.
- Green Thumb: A plantwielder.
- Martial Pacifist: He would much rather not have to fight, but that doesn't mean he's incapable of defending himself.
- Non-Action Guy: As mentioned above, he'd prefer to stay out of fights. It's not that he can't fight, he's just not interested.
Fred the Fisherman
A kind mundane that was roped into some unsavory business by some criminals. Now in the safe hands of Assistant.
- Debt Detester: Ended up working for a drug ring out of necessity for his wife and kids, but fortunately he got out of that.
- The Illegible: His handwriting used to be very bad. Assistant has drummed that out of him.
- Insecure Love Interest: Worries that he won't measure up to his kids the way that Assistant does.
- Muggle: A mundane, and one that lacks Sight at that.
- Nice Guy: A very friendly guy with hardly a mean bone in his body.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: An ordinary mundane man who got roped into a bad drug deal. And now he's with Assistant, and doesn't know his boyfriend's true occupation.
- Sad Clown: Cracks jokes about pretty much everything as a coping mechanism.
- Youthful Freckles: Has a smattering of freckles across his face.
The Mechanic
A mundane with Sight that lives in the Town Over. He runs a mechanic shop and is usually on hand to fix anything in the school that might break down. His Sight is good, as long as he has his glasses.
- Blind Without 'Em: Can't see without his glasses. At all.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": He's simply known as the Mechanic.
- Mr. Fixit: If you need it, he can fix it.
- The Unreveal: He doesn't actually have a visual design, just a description.*
Tyler
A porn star that happens to be a buddy of Merchant's. Aspires to be an actor and is looking for new work before his contract at the porn studio is terminated.
- Pungeon Master: Enjoys making bad puns.
- Put on a Bus: After it was revealed that he raped Simon when they were in college, Xander immediately ended his relationship with him and he hasn't been heard from since.
Owner/Gamma
The owner of a tea shop in Town Over. The younger sibling of Alpha and Beta.
- Only in It for the Money: The membership cards for her shop either add to your total purchase or take away depending on if her rent is due or not.
The Town Across
Town Across, only accessible by ferry, is the most extravagant and expensive of the three towns. Don't come here unless you're planning on having a very light wallet upon your return.
Asphodel Bishop
An ex-Council member, now a mental healer stationed in Town Across. Banned from going anywhere near Merlin ever again.
- All There in the Manual: The 50k-word strong story, Frames, contains her backstory. Most characters in it have never and will never show up in canon.
Sharrika Sunshade
A local musician that's made a bit of a name for herself with her combination of magic and music theory. Possesses breasts of abnormal proportions.
- Action Survivor: Survived a completely different accident-prone magical school, along with being exploded. It's a long story.
- Blue Blood: The daughter of a government official. She greatly disliked her home life, however, and ran away.
- Fairy Companion: Navi, a fairy she picked up at a flea market that was being advertised as an exotic pet.
- In-Universe Nickname: Rika. She prefers it, as her actual name is a bit of a big name in the world of blue blood.
- Living Lie Detector: Rika has the uncanny ability to spot tells and can often figure out when someone is lying.
- The Runaway: Escaped from her abusive home with the help of her friend, Sharyn Crystin, when she was a teenager.
