Main Character

    Hitoshi Kobe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hitoshi_kobe.png

A socially awkward high-school student with a talent for creating A.I. programs.

  • Accidental Pervert: Not as often as Akamatsu's later protagonists, but Hitoshi does find himself in situations where he accidentally gropes and peeps at Saati.
  • Book Dumb: He gets embarrassingly bad grades at school because he spends most of his time in programming instead of studying.
  • Butt-Monkey: Particularly in later chapters, a good part of the comedy revolves around Hitoshi becoming the target of slapstick. The biggest example is when a whole chapter is about Hitoshi being viction of a Groin Attack.
  • Chastity Couple: With Saati. Even though they live together, they rarely do anything beyond hugging.
  • The Chew Toy: As typical of Akamatsu's male leads, he takes a lot of punishment.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He's something of a sex-crazed pervert who is all for undressing and groping his girlfriend, but he's still a Nice Guy.
  • Expy: He's like a computer genius version of Kei'ichi from Ah! My Goddess, sharing the role of the Unlucky Everydude whose life is changed for the better by the unexpected arrival of his ideal Magical Girlfriend.
  • Flanderization: He became more and more of a depraved pervert as the manga went on.
  • Forceful Kiss: He plants a kiss on Saati twice. The first is to snap her out of Billy-G's control and the second is when he begs her to not go to the Final Battle against Spider-Zero.
  • Friendless Background: He never had any friends since he mentions he often celebrated his birthday alone after his parents and sister moved to America.
  • Like Parent, Like Spouse: Akamatsu states Hitoshi modeled his ideal girlfriend Saati after his own mother.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: He's quite the horndog and has a large collection of dirty magazines, H Games and porn videos.
  • Raging Stiffie: Hitoshi is the human 'bar' in a beach limbo contest with Saati and the others. When her turn comes round, he's set so low that she's grinding against him - then her boobs get in the way. He lifts up to let her pass, but not before his resultant tentpole nearly wangs (sorry) her in the face. Cue Megaton Punch.
  • Teeny Weenie: He once tries to prove to Saati that he's a man by letting her see the front of his naked body when she's helping him bath. Instead, Saati teases him about his size by calling him small.
  • Think Unsexy Thoughts: Chapter 35 is completely centered around Hitoshi being forced to suppress his uncontrollable libido if he doesn't want his crotch getting slapped and blown up by a device. He tries to avoid getting whacked by thinking about male bodybuilders... while peeking in on the girls' locker room. (Un)fortunately, he loses focus for a second, the underwear slaps him, and the sound alerts the girls, who beat him up.
  • Unlucky Everydude: Unpopular, is bad at studying and sports, his only strength is programming. His life does a 180 when the program of his dream girlfriend comes to life.

The A.I. Siblings

    In General
  • Artificial Human: They started as Hitoshi's A.I. programs modeled after humans and magically became real humans because of lightning.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Saati is the blonde, Toeni is the brunette and Forty-chan is the redhead.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: The kindhearted Saati is Phlegmatic, the provocative Toeni is Choleric, the serious-minded Forty-kun is Melancholic and the hyperactive Forty-chan is Sanguine.
  • The Three Faces of Eve: Saati is the Wife (sweet-natured, good at housework except cooking, and devoted to being Hitoshi's girlfriend), Toeni is the Seductress (voluptuous body, dresses provocatively, and flirts a lot), and the hForty-chan is the Child (youngest of Hitoshi's A.I., very childlike, and energetic).

    Saati Namba

A.I. Program No. 30

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saati_namba.png

An A.I. program that materialised during an electrical storm.

  • Be a Whore to Get Your Man: With Toeni's arrival, Saati gets worried that Hitoshi might be more attracted to curvy women in provocative dresses. Saati dresses in a slutty fashion for Hitoshi, but only gets the opposite effect because Hitoshi likes her better when she's modest.
  • Betty and Veronica: The penultimate volume of the manga is focused on Saati and Cindy competing for Hitoshi's love. Saati is the Betty because she's the sweet and homey A.I. who was designed to be Hitoshi's dream girlfriend.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Akamatsu has stated that Saati has such prominent eyebrows because he finds them attractive.
  • Characterization Marches On: She goes from an Innocent Fanservice Girl to a Reluctant Fanservice Girl around midway through the manga so that she shows more reactions to Hitoshi's perversion.
  • Chastity Couple: With Hitoshi. She's his girlfriend who lives together with him, but we barely see them kissing, hugging or even holding hands.
  • Expy: Her role as the Magical Girlfriend to the Unlucky Everydude and personality of the purehearted Ingenue are obviously taken from Ah! My Goddess's Belldandy.
  • Fairytale Motifs: She compares herself to The Little Mermaid when she's cast for the role in a School Play because she's also a non-human girl who loves a human guy and is competing with a human girl for his love.
  • First Girl Wins: Saati is the first A.I. introduced and comes to life so she can become Hitoshi's girlfriend in the first chapter. Her only love rival appears near the end of the series, but Saati's victory was guaranteed from the beginning.
  • Grew a Spine: Over time, she becomes less of a pushover and regularly chastises Hitoshi for his perverted antics.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Saati is kind, loving, and innocent. Her long blonde hair reflects her golden heart.
  • Healing Hands: She has the power to accelerate the metabolism of organic beings, which she discovers when she heals the wounds of a puppy that was hit by a car.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: When it seems like Cyndia might take Hitoshi, Saati willingly steps aside. Luckily for her, Hitoshi only pretended to choose Cyndia for the School Play (not understanding the two were making him pick one of them seriously) and the one he really loves is still Saati.
  • The Ingenue: Polite, sweet, and bubbly. She doesn't understand many things about the world because she just recently became sentient and only knows what Hitoshi teaches her. For example, her knowledge of sexuality is basically nonexistent.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Her blue eyes reflect her purehearted and naive character.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: In the first chapters, she needs a lot to learn about reservations about nudity. For example, she tries to get into the sea naked because Hitoshi told her it was like a big bath. She becomes more of a Reluctant Fanservice Girl as the series goes on.
  • Interrupted Suicide: Near the end of volume 7, Saati wrongly believes Hitoshi has chosen Cindy over her and tries to delete her entire program, including the core. Hitoshi interrupts her when Saati is throwing her back-up memory diskettes into a river and Saati stops her own process of deletion to save Hitoshi and Cindy when they fall into the river.
  • Intimate Healing: In Chapter 24, Saati saves Kikuko's life by holding their naked bodies closely together while Saati uses a program to keep Kikuko's body heat from decreasing.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: She often acts like an airhead because of her extreme naivety and lack of common sense, but her heart is the biggest out of the entire cast.
  • Lethal Chef: Early in Saati's cooking lessons, her sole experience with food is looking at pictures of the finished product, not realizing that the dishes must be made of edible ingredients. She cooks using things like watercolor paints and dish detergent. Even when she does use the correct ingredients, her dishes are horrendously spicy.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: She's the sweet and innocent Light Feminine to Toeni's sexy and flirtatious Dark Feminine.
  • Magical Girlfriend: Of the Magitek variety. Saati is a computer program created by the Unlucky Everydude Hitoshi to be his ideal girlfriend. One night, she's brought to life by a thunderstorm and proceeds to make Hitoshi's life many times better.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Saati loses her clothes every few chapters and gets the most bath scenes out of any girl in the series.
  • Naked First Impression: Hitoshi had yet to include clothes in her program when she came to life, so Saati is stark naked when she first appears before him in material form.
  • Naked on Arrival: Due to Hitoshi not programming any clothes for her, she first materialises completely nude.
  • New Transfer Student: In the first chapter, Saati joins Hitoshi's class as a transfer student after asking the teacher's laptop to add her to the student roster.
  • Nice Girl: The kindest character in the whole series.
  • Not Good with Rejection: Thinking Hitoshi has chosen Cindy instead of her, Saati tries to erase her own program since she sees no purpose to her existence if she can't be Hitoshi's girlfriend. However, it was all a misunderstanding because Hitoshi was just acting for the School Play and goes to stop Saati.
  • One-Note Cook: Once Saati learns how to cook, she can only make curry, no matter how hard she tries not to.
  • Parenting the Husband: Chapter 31 is about Saati trying to act like Hitoshi's mother by treating him like a baby for a day, to his dismay.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: With her older sister Toeni. Saati is kind, helpful and innocent, Toeni is insensitive, self-centered and flirtatious.
  • Team Mom: She's very much the mom of the Kobe household since she cleans, cooks and is the most caring and nurturing of Hitoshi's A.I.s. Bonus points for Hitoshi actually modeling Saati after his own mother.
  • Technopath: One of her main abilities is communicating with other pieces of technology like machines so they do what she asks of them.
  • Tsundere: Sweet type. Saati is usually calm and pleasant, only getting angry and hitting Hitoshi when he's being a disgusting pervert.

    Toeni Namba

A.I. Program No. 20

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toeni_namba.png

The first fully-functioning A.I. program that Hitoshi created.

  • '90s Hair: Towards the end of the series, she cuts her hair to mid-length.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Soon after Hitoshi created her, Toeni tried to Take Over the World to show her superiority over the human race because she was the most advanced A.I. in the world. Fortunately, Hitoshi managed to stop her with a prototype of Saati and sealed her program until she was brought to life by accident in volume 2. Ever since, she changed into a Benevolent A.I. like her younger sisters.
  • Arc Villainess: She's the antagonist of most of volume 2 where she tries to steal Hitoshi from Saati by force. She does a Heel–Face Turn at the end of her introduction arc and stays a member of the main cast for the rest of the series, though.
  • Big-Breast Pride: She boasts about having a bigger bust than Saati.
  • Big Sister Bully: Initially, she antagonizes her younger sister Saati out of pettiness. She soon grows out of it and becomes a Cool Big Sis.
  • Big Sister Instinct: After her Heel–Face Turn, she becomes very protective of her younger "siblings" Saati and Forty.
  • Cool Big Sis: She's a flirty and playful older sister to Saati and Forty, the A.I. created after her.
  • Expy: Like Urd from Ah! My Goddess, Toeni is the sexy older sister of the Magical Girlfriend.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's introduced as arrogant and mean. While she remains brash, she grows to genuinely care about her younger sisters and her attitude majorly improves as a result.
  • Leg Focus: She has "smooth, long legs" modeled after those of a famous idol.
  • Light Feminine and Dark Feminine: She's the sexy and flirtatious Dark Feminine to Saati's sweet and innocent Light Feminine.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's the most buxom and skimpily dressed of the A.I. girls.
  • Reused Character Design: Invoked. Toeni's face was modeled on Kimika's.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: After she tried to Take Over the World, Hitoshi trapped her inside a floppy disk so she wouldn't cause more problems for him or anyone else. Her introduction story has being accidentally freed when Hitoshi was in the middle of setting a password for the floppy disk and the electricity of the thunderstorm brings her to life.
  • Shipper on Deck: After she stops trying to take Hitoshi from Saati, Toeni becomes the main supporter of Hitoshi and Saati's relationship, prodding them to make advances especially in the sexual sense.
  • Shock and Awe: Her main power is generating electricity.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: With Saati. While Saati is kind, helpful and innocent, Toeni is insensitive, self-centered and flirtatious.
  • The Tease: When she first materialised, Toeni tried seducing Hitoshi but was repeatedly thwarted by Saati.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: She starts out as emotionally abusive towards Hitoshi and her first chapters had her trying to steal him away from Saati, but coming to care about Saati and Forty turns Toeni into a Cool Big Sis.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She freaks out whenever she sees a bug because she can't tell the difference between a real bug and those that cause glitches.

    Forty Namba

A.I. Program No. 40

An A.I. program that can alternate their gender and personality.

Tropes applying to both personalities

  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: Neither Forty keeps memories of what the other personality does whenever the switch is activated.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: As Hitoshi's newest A.I., Forty is the baby sibling of the Kobe household. Forty-chan's final Day in the Limelight is about her trying to prove she can act like a grown-up to Hitoshi and her older sisters, only to keep acting like a clumsy child.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Forty has short hair that suits both the masculine Forty-kun and the fun-loving Forty-chan.
  • Expy: Forty has a similar role to Skuld from Ah! My Goddess, being the Magical Girlfriend's cute little sibling.
  • Light Girl, Dark Boy: Strawberry blonde hair as Forty-chan, brown hair as Forty-kun.
  • Multi-Gendered Split Personalities: Before Forty was ready, Saati and Toeni argued about the gender and personality and pressed too many buttons at once. The end result is an A.I. that has two modes: a male personality and a female personality within a female body.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Within one character because of the different personality settings that Saati and Toeni programmed into Forty getting messed around. Forty-kun is serious and well-mannered, while Forty-chan is mischievous and hyperactive.
  • Split-Personality Makeover: Forty-kun has brown hair, Tsurime Eyes, and wears boys' clothes, while Forty-chan has strawberry blonde hair, Tareme Eyes, and wears girls' clothes.
  • Split-Personality Switch Trigger: Forty has a case of Multi-Gendered Split Personalities because Saati and Toeni messed with the A.I.'s personality and gender settings right before Forty came to life. When Forty-kun says "girl", he becomes Forty-chan, when Forty-chan says "boy", she becomes Forty-kun.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Forty's personality switch always comes with a big explosion.
  • Talking to Themself: In one of the final chapters, Forty-kun can talk to Forty-chan in their mind so she willingly activates the personality switch and Forty-kun comes out to fight Zero.
  • Token Mini-Moe: Unlike Saati and Toeni who were made with the bodies of grown women, Forty looks like a twelve-year-old because Saati and Toeni wanted a cute and small younger sibling.
  • Token Wholesome: Compared to Saati and Toeni, the fanservice centered around Forty is minimal to the point of practically nonexistent.
  • Youngest Child Wins: As Hitoshi's newest creation, Forty is much more powerful than both Saati and Toeni.

Tropes applying to Forty-kun (male personality)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/forty_kun.png

  • Accidental Pervert:
    • On his first day at school, Forty-kun bumps into his homeroom teacher and gets a look at her panties.
    • When Forty switches personalities in Kikuko's bedroom, Kikuko finds Forty-kun holding her panties after these fell on him because of the explosion that comes with his transformation.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Forty-kun enters Hitoshi's H-Game because he wants to romance the Hot Teacher character, but ends up turning down the chance to sleep with her because the sex scene was too spur-of-the-moment.
  • Has a Type: Forty-kun's First Love is his homeroom teacher Misako Takemoto. He also agrees to enter Hitoshi's H-Game because it includes a Hot Teacher character, although he doesn't cross the line and turns down having sex with her because it's inappropriate.
  • Hopeless Suitor: Forty-kun never had a chance with his teacher Misako because she was already retiring to marry the P.E. teacher.
  • Hot for Teacher: Forty-kun develops a crush on his homeroom teacher, only to find out she's engaged and has to resign upon getting married.
  • Instant Expert: He can ski like a pro after just hearing a brief explanation from Kikuko.
  • Love at First Sight: He develops a crush on his teacher Misako the first time he sees her.
  • Mundane Utility: He can use a hyper program to hack into military satellites and get all the information he needs to get perfect score in a test. He doesn't understand that's cheating, though.
  • Neat Freak: He compulsively goes on a cleaning rampage whenever he sees a messy room.
  • New Transfer Student: He enrolls at Menjō High School by passing off as a transfer student from USA.
  • Nice Guy: He's a polite and kind boy.

Tropes applying to Forty-chan (female personality)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/forty_chan.png

  • Breast Expansion: She can make her breasts grow at will, which she uses in her attempt to seduce Hitoshi.
  • Dual Age Modes: She has the default form of a 12-year-old girl, but she can change her physical age at will either to look like a toddler or a young woman.
  • Fille Fatale: In contrast with the mild-mannered Forty-kun, Forty-chan's personality settings are "naughty and flirty" because Toeni asked for a perverted little brother. Forty-chan's introduction has her wanting to teach Hitoshi about a girl's body while dressed in a nurse outfit and using programs to make herself look older. However, it's downplayed because Forty-chan doesn't actually know about sex and seduction, so she doesn't do anything inappropriate to Hitoshi.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Her older form in her last Day in the Limelight wears twin-tails to show she's still the same childish little girl despite her attempts at acting mature.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: She's fond of teddy bears.
  • I'm Crying, but I Don't Know Why: When going to say goodbye to the teacher he has a crush on, Forty-kun can't bring himself to get close to her. Hitoshi and Saati make him switch to Forty-chan so she can give the teacher a goodbye bouquet of roses. Even though the two personalities don't share memories or thoughts, Forty-chan starts crying as she sees the teacher depart at the airport.
  • Lethal Chef: Her attempt at cooking is completely inedible, but Hitoshi still pretends to like it to not get her down.
  • School Swimsuit: She wears one when surfing through the network lines.

Menjō High School

    Kimika Aso
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kimika_aso.png

A classmate of Hitoshi.

  • Alpha Bitch: She's the most popular and rich girl at school. She also gets off from humiliating Hitoshi and gets jealous of Saati drawing attention away from her. She tries several schemes to make Hitoshi and Saati look bad, but it always backfires on her.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Kimika was the antagonist of volume 1 and two chapters of volume 2. After that, she is never seen again until a brief Continuity Cameo in the final chapter.
  • For the Evulz: She antagonizes Hitoshi and Saati just to be mean.
  • Hate Sink: Her only character trait is being a demeaning Alpha Bitch who looks down on the main characters.
  • Jerkass: She's nasty and conceited towards just about everyone.
  • Parasol of Prettiness: She's seen carrying a parasol in her casual attire, giving her a classy look.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Her few interactions with Toeni show both absolutely hate each other.
  • Too Much Alike: Hitoshi modeled Toeni after Kimika, both in looks and personality. When Kimika meets Toeni, they can't stand each other because they're equally arrogant and abrasive.

    Takako Miyahara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/takako_miyahara.png

A student who works on the school paper.

    Misako Takemoto
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/misako_takemoto.png

  • Hot Teacher: She's a young and beautiful teacher, causing her student Forty-kun to fall for her at first sight.
  • Put on a Bus: The chapter that introduces her ends with her moving to Osaka with her husband. She's never seen or mentioned again.
  • Quitting to Get Married: Soon after Forty starts going to school, Misako quits her job as a teacher because she's getting married to the P.E. teacher and moving to Osaka with him.
  • Temporary Love Interest: Forty-kun develops a crush on her immediately. In the same chapter Forty-kun meets her, she quits the school to marry the P.E. teacher and Forty-kun never sees her again.

    Yuko Watanabe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuko_watanabe.png

A student librarian.

  • A-Cup Angst: She went so far as to hack into the school's files and list every girl's measurements as D-Cups - including her own - to hide her flat chest.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She wears glasses as part of her "cute bookish girl" character.
  • Fake Boobs: She pads her chest to fake having D-Cups when she's really flat as a washboard.

Supporting Characters

    Kikuko Kobe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kikuko_kobe.png

Hitoshi's cousin. Her father owns an inn at the mountains of Tohoku, so the main cast often go there during winter.

  • Goofy Print Underwear: Forty-kun finds bunny panties in her bedroom.
  • Kissing Cousins: Subverted. Kikuko made a Childhood Marriage Promise with her cousin Hitoshi, but she now only sees him as family. She still flirts with Hitoshi a little to mess with him and Saati.
  • Recurring Extra: She's the only minor character who appears in several chapters throughout the manga.
  • Tsundere: Kikuko and Forty-kun get off on the wrong foot, but she quickly warms up to him even though she still calls him a dummy when he calls her cute.

    Number 29

A.I. Program No. 29

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/no29.png

An earlier version of Saati.

  • Criminal Doppelgänger: After she comes out of the computer, she runs around stealing clothes, jewelry and food, which gets the real Saati a lot of angry people chasing after her in the street.
  • Flawed Prototype: She's a prototype to Saati that was discarded by Hitoshi because the program had a bug that caused it to speak in gibberish.

    Cynthia McDougal
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cindy_mcdougal.png

An American teen idol who develops a crush on Hitoshi.

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She falls for Hitoshi after he helps her send a birthday e-mail to her father so they can make up after she ran away.
  • Betty and Veronica: The penultimate volume of the manga is focused on Saati and Cindy competing for Hitoshi's love. Cindy is the Veronica because she's the famous actress from another country and daughter of a wealthy CEO.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Her father is American and her mother was Japanese.
  • Expy: Akamatsu has stated that Cindy was based on Asuka Langley Soryu from Neon Genesis Evangelion in the attractive, hot-headed foreigner aspect, except Cindy doesn't have any of Asuka's emotional baggage or psychological issues.
  • Forceful Kiss: She grabs and kisses Hitoshi in her desperation when he makes clear he's choosing Saati over her.
  • Grade Skipper: She's a high school graduate even though she's only 15 years old.
  • Hopeless Suitor: She gave it her best shot and Hitoshi was a bit attracted to her, but Cindy ultimately can do nothing to change Hitoshi's love for Saati.
  • Hopeless with Tech: She has no idea of how to use a computer so she asks Hitoshi's help to learn how to send an e-mail for her father's birthday.

  • New Transfer Student: She transfers to Hitoshi's class because she wanted to get closer to him.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: Her introduction has her asking to buy the most expensive computer at a store in Akihabara and almost buys one that is meant for office use until Hitoshi advices her to get a computer for simpler use.
  • The Rival: She gives Saati the most competition for Hitoshi's affections.
  • The Runaway: She ran away from USA all the way to Japan because she couldn't take her father never having time for her.
  • The Tease: She puts on provocative dresses in her attempts to get Hitoshi's attention.
  • Vapor Wear: To entice Hitoshi, she puts on a dress that makes clear she's not wearing a bra.

    Yayoi Kobe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yayoi_kobe.png

Hitoshi's younger sister.

  • A-Cup Angst: She's initially very self-conscious about her undeveloped assets, but overcomes her shyness when she realises people like her for her personality.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Hitoshi is a little annoyed by Yayoi's tendency to grope women's breasts and her clinginess towards him.
  • Bathing Beauty: Bathing is something of a hobby to her, by self-admission.
  • Big Brother Attraction: Ma-kun even calls her out on her brother complex.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Just like Saati, Yayoi has thick eyebrows because of Author Appeal on Akamatsu's part.
  • Fake Boobs: Saati uses a program on Yayoi to create the illusion that she has big breasts to help her win a Beauty Contest. The effect wears off before the competition starts, but Yayoi still wins with her own charm.
  • Grade Skipper: She's already a college student even though she's only two years younger than Hitoshi.
  • Idiot Hair: She has a strand of hair that sticks up from her hair.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Akamatsu describes Yayoi as loud and energetic, which is intended to be the opposite of her A.I. Ma-kun who is calm, cool and collected.
  • Skinship Grope: She has a bad habit of feeling up the boobs of every woman she meets, especially when they're bigger than hers.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She's responsible for the entire mess of the manga's final arc since she brings the Zero program to life after unintentionally infecting it with the Spider Virus.

    Ma-kun
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ma_kun.png
Click here to see his human form

An A.I. program that Yayoi created.

  • Hot in Human Form: Unlike Hitoshi's A.I., Ma-kun doesn't have a material body and only appears as a tamagotchi-like device in the real world. In the virtual world, Ma-kun looks like a Long-Haired Pretty Boy that makes Toeni blush because of how handsome he is.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: While his physical form looks like a tamagotchi, his V.R. body looks just like Vash with long hair.
  • Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Akamatsu describes Ma-kun as calm, cool and collected, which is intended to be the opposite of his creator Yayoi who is loud and energetic.

Antagonists

    Billy-G
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/billy_g.png

A computer hacker.

  • Arc Villain: He's the villain of the main arc in volume 3, after which he doesn't show up again until a brief appearance in the final chapter.
  • Back for the Finale: Billy-G was the main antagonist during the first part of the series, but disappeared after creating a back-up copy of Saati in chapter 20. He finally comes back in the last chapter (55).
  • The Cracker: He produces computer viruses such as the Peter4 Trojan horse virus that infected Saati and the Spider Virus in the final volume. He has also been involved in criminal enterprises such as pyramid schemes.
  • Evil Counterpart: For Hitoshi. He's possibly more computer-savvy than Hitoshi, but is not above copying Saati's programming.
  • Karma Houdini: He's never caught nor faces consequences for creating the viruses that nearly deleted Saati and later Toeni and Forty in the final arc.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: His name is an obvious nod to Bill Gates.
  • Villainous Rescue: In the final chapter, he uses his back-up Saati (No. 31) to save the real Saati from deletion by Spider-Zero, unbeknownst to everyone.

    Spider-Zero

A.I. Program No. Zero

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zero_ailoveyou.png

An A.I. program that was infected by a computer virus.

  • Animal Motifs: Spiders.
  • Arc Villain: He's the villain of the short final arc.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: In the final chapters, Spider-Zero wants to erase all the data from all the computers in the world and deletes the core programs of Hitoshi's A.I.s. He has no personality nor motive behind his actions besides his program being corrupted by the vicious virus Yayoi accidentally installed in him.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Part of his One-Winged Angel form.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: Upon being corrupted, he forcibly kisses and molests Saati. However, his harassment isn't motivated by sexual desires; he just wants to consume her data.
  • Kiss of Death: He tries erasing Saati's and Toeni's data by kissing them.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: At full power, he grows four extra arms.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Has silver hair and is the cruelest character in the series.
  • Winged Humanoid: He can sprout a pair of feathered wings from his back.
