Even after leaving its mark on the gaming culture, Midnight Club has a plethora of great tracks heard through the whole franchise.

Midnight Club: Street Racing

  • Imagine this scene: It's the year 2000 and you've got yourself a PlayStation 2 for Christmas with MCSR being one of your first games. You boot up the console and insert the CD, expecting an average-at-its-best racer and then... "Strings of Life" by Derrick May starts playing as you see the intro juxtaposed to both live-action and gameplay footage taking place in New York City with Pimped-Out Cars as featured while making you pumped up for the game's career mode.
  • "The Beginning" and "Icon" by Derrick May, as heard in the main menu, are eclectic pieces of '90s electronica as you pick your ride for the upcoming event against a rival before getting your hands on their ride upon victory (with Aril Brikha's "Read Only Memory" playing once you manage to do so).
  • The eponymous original tracks by Anthony Child AKA Surgeon (as heard in New York) are a funky yet trippy piece of techno, especially if you're following your first rivals only to decimate them with your shoddy taxi cab. Ah, the humiliation!

Midnight Club 2

While being a step up from the original, 2 has expanded to more genres from Rap to Trance.

  • The main menu theme by David Helping is a nice blend between ambient and electronic as heard once you boot up the game. After returning to the menu, an alternate mix plays in the background with more energy than the former. "Get ready to race?", indeed.
  • Los Angeles starts up with "Midnight Club Theme" and "Ride Out" by 8-Off Agallah once you face Moses before he gives his souped-up Citi with grace as you start your first steps to become one of the best street racers in the world.
  • Clocking in at 13:42, Subtech brings themself with "Timeshift", an outstanding Progressive House track as you start making a new friend with Gina after making yourself quite a stir early in the game.
