As to be expected from a Rhythm Game, Mad Rat Dead has a butt-kicking soundtrack.
- MAD RAT, ALIVE? is a cheerful, catchy song that accompanies you throughout the game's tutorial.
- Rat's Dream, the theme of level 1-2, is a snazzy song one can't help bobbing their head to.
- Meta example, but TOPHAMHAT-KYO's Mad Rat Dead Rap is a rocking rap set to the tune of the game's title screen theme. To quote a YouTube comment on the video, "There is absolutely no better way to promote a game than making a rap about said game." True to the comment, the song was eventually added to the game as a bonus song for free play in a DLC update.
- "Black Fear", the theme for the cat boss fight, is a fittingly tense but awesome track. Even better is the way that the synths sound like angry cat meows.
- "Mimolette" is an upbeat, pumping chiptune song. The sheer energy makes it one of the highlights of this game's soundtrack. Its relentlessly happy nature may make it hard to believe this is a boss theme.
- "Heartless Being" by Camellia plays on the penultimate stage before you fight the Rat God and hypes up the upcoming fight. It's also a remix of sorts of the earlier track "plash, plop, gurgle".
- "Mad Rat, Die", the final boss theme, is incredibly chaotic yet still very intense.
