Playtonic employees revealed that when the Kickstarter first went live, they literally didn't see the counter at zero. People started pledging that quickly.
Within the first 38 minutes of being launched, Yooka-Laylee managed to hit its minimum funding goal of £175,000 (US$270,041).
Within six hours of starting, the Kickstarter hit US$1,000,000 (£796,876), the fastest a video game Kickstarter had ever hit that sum at the time. Though Shenmue III eventually reached that mark even faster, that's still very impressive.
In just twenty-one hours after starting, the campaign reached the £1,000,000 (US$1,513,850) mark, fulfilling all eleven of its initial stretch goals.
Since they hit everything on the first day, Playtonic added two more stretch goals for an additional £200,000 (US$302,770), which they then hit around twelve hours later.
After a total of 10 days, the Kickstarter hit its new largest goal of an orchestral soundtrack, for a total of over £1,500,000 (US$2,337,825).
On 16 June 2015, a little more than 12 hours away from the funding deadline, they managed to hit their final stretch goal of £2,000,000 (US$3,130,500), which means free DLC for all backers! The campaign finished the same day for a final total (not counting PayPal pledges) of £2,090,084 (US$3,270,417.14).
