Awesome / Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country

  • Thanks to the cut scenes we get to see a few abilities we didn't see Mythra and Malos display in the main game's cut scenes (though they were hinted at for Malos or seen in a Blade Special by Mythra). Mythra can move so quickly she looks like a golden blur, and Malos can outright turn himself into particles of energy, enabling him to pseudo-teleport.
  • Perhaps a minor one, but after playing the main game and seeing how little Aegaeon is focused on (and how easily he's taken out, though that's more Niall's fault) and how little he contributes to the plot, his showing against Malos, as brief as it is, is worth mentioning. After Minoth, Addam, Brighid, and even Mythra fail to land a single meaningful strike on him, it's Aegaeon who is finally able to get a solid strike in with Water Moon, causing Malos to literally reel back in a daze, opening him up for a strike from Lora.
  • Mythra's Roaring Rampage of Revenge against Malos is pretty awesome, despite it also being a major Tear Jerker due to Milton's death preceding it and with Hugo and the Tornan Titan dying because of her actions. She now has access to the third sword, able to create shockwaves that hit several kilometers in the air. Once she boards Siren she causes it to emit so much energy that Malos' Gargoyle artifices are destroyed simply from getting too close to her. It's also satisfying to see Malos nearly die due to getting what he wished for, which was Mythra's full power.
  • The Stinger can be this for those who have played the main game already, as it shows the room Pyra has been sealed away in, with the doors opening to reveal Rex, where players of the base game know it's the start to set everything right after what had happened.
  • The final battle against Malos. The chain attack guage is replaced by a Siren Meter, allowing you to fire on Malos' Siren and also shoot at the Aegis himself.. the final boss theme of the main game, After Dispair and Hope, also makes a return.
  • Hugo's Heroic Sacrifice. Addam is out for the count and the core of Torna is about to blow up right in front of him. Despite almost certainly knowing the act would kill him, Hugo selflessly rushes to Addam's side and tanks an explosion from the core of a titan whose breath weapon could bring down other titans. Said breath weapon was powered by that core, and despite all that, Hugo was strong enough to save Addam's life at the cost of his own.
