Awesome / The Wounded Sky

• The entire crew of the Enterprise gets one in The Wounded Sky, when they travel to the proto-universe next door and, well... to say anything more would be spoiling it.
• This might be the best Star Trek novel ever because it keeps the technobabble at near-realistic levels (with even a logical filler for the "USS" in "USS Enterprise" that has nothing to do with Eagleland), the characterisation is super-deep and empathetic, and while the space battle it describes near the start is super-cool, that is a mere interlude before the journey of awe and wonder and discovery in the rest of the book.
