Awesome / The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming

• Walt Whittaker may only be a vacationing Musical Comedy writer, but DON'T THREATEN HIS KIDS. Not to mention his creative skills are put to the test multiple times throughout the movie. And he always comes up with something.
• Police Chief Mattocks is a slightly more subtle example. He's more The Quiet One, of course that might have to do with the fact that he's tired and was supposed to be sleeping in that day. His Throwing Down the Gauntlet along with his Badass Boast where very awesome.
  Mattocks: (to the Russian Captain) You come in here, scaring people half to death. you steal cars and motorboats, and you cause damage to private property and you threaten the whole community with grievous bodily harm and maybe murder! Now, we ain't going to take any more of that, see? We may be scared, (mumbles) I know I am. But maybe we ain't so scared as you think we are, see? Now you say you're going to blow up the town, huh? Well, I say, all right! You start shooting, and see what happens!
  • The Russians are all left stunned at that.
• Fendall maybe an old idiot, but he's got guts. When things looked there worst he was ready to fight just like everybody else, with a broken sword no less. (that's a long story) And then he got the clever idea to call in The Cavalry.
