Awesome / The Pink Panther Strikes Again

Go To

  • Inspector Clouseau has tried, tried, tried to stop Dreyfus — having finally entered his castle (disguised as a dentist) after several failed attempts to get over the moat, and now hiding in a suit of armor, he tries to swing over on a rope to stop the villain from unleashing his disintegrating laser on England. Alas, he winds up outside; weary and defeated, he sits down...not realizing he's sitting on an old catapult. A goat has been nibbling on the ropes tying its throwing arm back...Clouseau is flung atop the laser, it swings into the room and malfunctions, zapping Dreyfus and causing him, then the castle, to vanish (though somehow he returned in the sequel), while Clouseau and everyone else escapes. The karmic power of The Fool has rarely been more awesome, befitting one of cinema's most awesome Fools.
  • The Oktoberfest scene where Clouseau takes out the assassins completely by accident (or they take out each other) is close behind in terms of The Fool awesomeness.
    • Some of the assassins gimmicks are also interesting, like the fake breasts/spikes.
  • Dreyfuss breaking Tournier the bank robber out of jail as the first step of his plan.
  • The cross-dressing butler managing to pull off a Mutual Kill with the assassin sent to silence him.
  • The Egyptian assassin managing to successfully kill his target (even if it was a man just dressed like Clouseau and not the real inspector) and then apparently being a good enough lover to keep another assassin who thought he was Clouseau from killing him afterwards.
  • Cato and Clouseau's training fight, which is a little more evenly matched than most (despite a fair amount of slapstick) before the phone rings.
  • Harsher in Hindsight sentiment aside, the special effects of Dreyfuss's machine first destroying a building in New York.
  • Dreyfuss shooing down his men's offer to kill Clouseau himself with the simple statement that "you wouldn't stand a chance."
