• Sonea gets this in The Novice when she wipes the floor with Regin in a wizarding duel.
  • Also the little moments before that when she defeats him: in physical confrontation, or when she blinded him and his minions.
• Akkarin's Big Damn Heroes moment at the end of The Magicians' Guild, where he reveals Fergun's crimes and stops him taking guardianship of Sonea. Bonus points for her and Cery jumping in with their accusations. It's almost funny watching Fergun's schemes fall apart like tissue paper.
• Sonea defeating an Ichani with healing magic, not once but twice!. For the first, she places a hand on her enemy's cut, then reaches with magic through his blood to his heart, then crushes it.
  • Then her face-off against Kariko, even though it heads into Tear Jerker territory for her afterwards.
• Lilia defeating Skellin with her new black magic trick, then healing Anyi's slit throat.
• Ordinary people defeating an Ichani in The High Lord, even if it does backfire on them. To show the difficulty, a saying states that it takes a madman, a genius or a magician to kill a magician, because of their incredible defences, dangerous powers, and the fact they explode upon death. The Thieves kill two, poisoning one with a tempting glass of wine, and another by hiding men in the tunnels and spearing the Ichani that walks by and accidentally lets them inside their shields.
  • Also, people appearing to rescue Dannyl before he's taken by Avala. The rich Houses flee the city, but the poor remain.
• The King remaining with his invaded city, and even conspiring with Thieves as well as magicians to defend it. Although many of the noble Houses are despicable, the King at least is a strong representative of the upper classes.
• The Traitors' Curb-Stomp Battle against the Ashaki. They thrash them so thoroughly that the Ashaki resort to a kamikaze attack on the Queen, all dying in the process.
• Sonea's Big Damn Heroes moment in The Rogue, where she rescues Lilia from Naki's clutches. Then the big reveal about the ring, courtesy of Dannyl's info.
• Lilia and Kallen summoning Bokkin in for a Black Magic lesson so they can put and end to his bullying of Lilia.
