• Nancy gets one in Winter Holiday, when she ice skates up a frozen lake, in the middle of the night, in a snowstorm to meet the Ds at the "North Pole", shortly after recovering from a disease that had left her bedridden for most of the book.
• Also, in We Didn't Mean to Go to Sea, the kids managed not to capsize and drown during a storm. And they found the Swallows' father. And they saved a kitten.
