• The very fact Obi-Wan is installed as Supreme Chancellor is one for Senator Ach’ki Mandai: one of many unimportant Senators, appalled at Palpatine's failure in ending the Clone Wars, got enough other "unimportant" Senators behind her to call for a motion of no-confidence and replace him with Obi-Wan while Palpatine was busy stifling more politically influent Senators such as Bail Organa and Padme. Who promptly went and brought their votes and influence to the cause of installing Obi-Wan as Supreme Chancellor.
• After being installed, Obi-Wan actually gets the Senate to start investigate Palpatine and Mas Amedda for investigation by presenting early evidence-and then calling for it to be run by the Senate, the Jedi and the Coruscant Security Forces at the same time to insure neutrality.
• Something Obi-Wan causes without even trying: just by being elected, he got ten Separatist worlds to petition to rejoin the Republic. How? Easy: he had been on all of them on various missions, some as a Padawan, and their leaders all remembered him and "know Chancellor Kenobi will root out the corruption and return the Republic to its former glory". The process goes so well that another forty-five make overtures for reunification after the first ten finish their negotiations.
• After Obi-Wan is heavily wounded in a bombing, one of Palpatine's supporters in the Senate calls for his reinstatement as Supreme Chancellor, counting on the shock and Bail Organa being the acting moderator and thus unable to call out the travesty to have it pass. Cue Padme utterly dismantling the idea, giving Mandai the opening to kill it for good.
• Speaking of the bombing... When Palpatine cuts the loose end and kills the assassin, she manages to shoot him.
  • Even better, the assassin was from the Hissleet Endai guild... Meaning the emergency blaster she shot Palpatine with left tracking nanomachines in his bloodstream, allowing the rest of the guild to track him down. And Quinlan Vos, who has tracked down the body alongside another from the Hissleet Endai, now knows this... And that the assassin was killed by a Sith. Quinlan Vos now has the means to identify Palpatine as the Dark Lord of the Sith.
