Gathering of the Sinister Six:

  • Mary Jane does such a good job taking charge when Mysterio attacks at Brick Johnson's funeral that a producer attending majorly upgrades her role in the upcoming film she's set to feature in. She goes from being a hostage for the whole film to being the bona fide co-star.
  • Spidey versus giant robotic sharks based off of the shark from Jaws!

Revenge of the Sinister Six:

  • A more non-violent variation - Colonel Sean Morgan calls out Spider-Man out on his Heroic Self-Deprecation and points out both how universal it is and how stupid it is that he gets hung up on it, even relating his own personal loss to drive it home.
Spider-Man: But there are so many in my case. So many failures...
Morgan: And you know why, web-slinger? Because you do what so many other people don't even bother to do. You try.
  • Spider-Man goes up against Vulture, Doc Ock, and "Electro", all before the final act starts, and manages to beat all of them.
  • At the book's climax, the Six have taken the Daily Bugle hostage to force Spidey to come there and fight them. Pity uses her powers to make the interior of the building pitch black, but only for Spidey. The villains can see just fine. Spidey fights and defeats the entire Sinister Six without being able to see them.
    • First, he takes Mysterio and Vulture out in the dark while weathering various illusions and tricks.
    • Then, he finds Pity in the pitch black and knocks her out, getting the lights back on.
    • Then, he tricks Electro and Doc Ock into taking each other out at the same time.
    • All while bruised, with burns, a concussion, and a seriously injured leg.
