Pre-release
- The teaser trailer begins with Sam riding on a chopper bike while a song eerily similar to Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" (the same song that plays at the beginning of Serious Sam 3: BFE) plays in the background. Then a Beheaded Kamikaze runs from somewhere directly towards Sam, who blows it with a well-placed Shotgun shot. Then he rides onto the horizon... while huge hordes of baddies appear in order to gang up on him. Yep, ladies and gentleman, Serious Sam is back!
- While the announcement trailer begins with a soldier enjoying the scenery (eventually revealed to be New Meat Kenny), a series of SS baddies run towards him... and they ignore him. Turns out, they've been escaping... from a laser cannon and minigun wielding Sam mounting a Sirian Werebull! The fact that in-game you can also ride atop of certain beasts such as the aforementioned Werebull only adds to the awesomeness.
In-game
- How does the game begin? With Sam sprouting a powerful one-liner and a war sequence! You're given the chance to try every weapon present in the game while you and countless Earth soldiers wage war against Mental's forces. Too bad that you need to be defeated in order to properly begin the game, but for those few moments, you can taste the awesome that's waiting at the end.
- Sam and the rookie he's accompanied with, Kenny, eventually find Father Mikhail after their convoy gets sabotaged, and how is he introduced to them? Killing three of Mental's soldiers with a shotgun!
- Hellfire's introduction has her roadkilling some nasties with a bus.
- Sam avenging Jones's death by implanting the final beacon through the eye of the creature that killed him while giving an epic speech.
- Sam avenging Kenny by killing his murderer, Lord Achriman, one of the most hateable characters across the series, then saying Kenny's "Catchphrase" of sorts, leaving Achriman confused before blowing his head.
- Sam avenging most of Earth by killing Ugh-Zan VI. First by filling his body with lead while mounted on the Mech. And then by feeding him the Holy Grail, which made his head explode.
- The AAA team avenging Father Mikhail and sealing the portal from where the baddies come from by stripping the treacherous General Brand out of his clothes and strapping him to a rocket that's then sent "From Russia With Love" through the portal.
