  • Kurumi in general is the walking definition of awesome. Some highlights include:
    • The fact that she was able to get away from the zombies on the track field without a scratch despite the rest of her classmates being easily killed is already impressive, but even more so when you realize that the whole time she was carrying the boy she had a crush on, which would have no doubt made running a lot harder than if she wasn't holding him.
    • In the anime, when she has to go outside of the safe school in order to get inside Megumi's car, she gets cornered by several zombies and accidentally drops her shovel. At first she almost panics, but regains her composure and calms down by taking a deep breath. Her expression changes from worried to a grin as she picks up her shovel and proceeds to keep fighting her way through the zombies.
    • In the manga, when the military helicopter crashes and explodes, Kurumi and Miki are both injured, with the latter being knocked out. Kurumi drags Miki into a nearby car, and then shouts at the zombies to come get her. Kurumi was perfectly willing to sacrifice herself in order to keep Miki safe, knowing full well that this would mean her being eventually swarmed and eaten alive by the zombies - and she would have went through with it had it not been for Yuki and Yuuri telling them where to go for safety on the intercom.
    • While it was both sad and horrific, Kurumi taking out Takashige by taking advantage of her zombie-like abilities and attracting a large swarm of zombies to him was pretty awesome, considering that up until that moment he had been ruthlessly hunting her down and it looked like he had the upper hand. It's also great because in the next chapter after that we find out he was a despicable human being who very much deserved what Kurumi did to him, and his death means that the MFC is now even more weakened then they already were before. Plus, he was ultimately killed the same way as he had killed his own teammates: left for dead and pleading for his life as he's ignored and eaten alive, so on top of everything else Kurumi unknowingly gave him a very satisfying taste of karma.
  • Shino gets an awesome moment in Chapter 54 where she further cements her Heel–Face Turn by stabbing Takahito in the arm right as he was about to kill Miki (and thus single-handily ruining the bastard's one chance at getting something resembling a victory), then threatening him by pointing her screwdriver right at his eye when he tries to attack her. She immediately follows it up by announcing that she's not going to work for him anymore, but instead will keep on surviving for the sake of her and Kougami's future child.
