  • The entire fic is one awesome moment after another, once the War of the Ring starts.
  • The entire Fellowship is a Badass Crew, with Thorin - a renowned warrior in his own right, and well-placed to judge - remarking on their skill: Aragorn is the single best swordsman he's ever seen, Gimli (to his semi-paternal pride) is the best axeman in two centuries, and Legolas is a ridiculously skilled Master Archer who leaves even Thorin in very grudging stunned silence at his abilities (such as the famous shield slide in Helm's Deep). Gandalf, meanwhile, leaves him in awe with having matched the greatest heroes of antiquity and slain a Balrog in single combat.
  • Legolas's famous Mûmakil slaying at Pelennor Fields, complete with trunk slide, is witnessed by Thorin and Dáin, the latter of whom somewhat dazedly says he needs a drink and a pipe after watching that because it's just ridiculously magnificent.
  • Dáin's death. Even after being poisoned, he kills Orc after Orc after Orc.
  • Galadriel's fight with Khamûl. She not only sends him to the Void, but she also destroys Dol Guldur.
    • And immediately after this, Radagast purifies it and makes plants grow again.
  • Thorin and Bilbo blocking Sauron's gaze when he realises where the Ring is.
  • Ori's last moments in Moria. 'Brave Ori,' indeed.
  • Bilbo's argument with Námo and Manwë as if he's not facing down one of the Valar and their Doomsman. Only Bilbo could pull it off.
  • Kíli revealing a surprisingly insightful understanding of Elves and their seemingly unfeeling fronts in chapter 29.
  • Tauriel's and Celebrimbor's determination to find their way to the Halls of Mahal. It takes them many attempts, but they don't give up.
Celebrimbor: We’re going to make it. And even should this attempt fail with all the others, we will try again. This I swear, child.
  • Legolas follows in their path over a century later, and manages it alone, albeit with the remnants of their equipment.
