• Through The Power of Love, a little girl's tears falling on flowers brought them to life and made them live forever to protect the garden.
• The first special has Rose Petal tell Nastina firmly that flowers were meant to bloom, she was put here to give them love and care, and she'll continue singing no matter the risk.
• P.D. Centipede leads the charge to rescue Rose Petal in the cartoon and inspires the others not to give up.
• Pitterpat the cat is very competent and holds off Nastina when the friends arrive to save Rose Petal.
• The first special has Nastina's near-successful plan to kill Rose Petal, which involved taking away her singing voice and locking her in a tower with next to no light. By the time her friends rescue her, Rose Petal is essentially dead and is only revived through her friends' tears.
• In the second special, Sweet Violet gets Horace so into character during an acting session she's able to slip away and warn Rose Petal about Nastina's plan.
• In the second special, Nastina is riding the Blitz-Mower, a unicycle lawnmower, and traps Rose Petal in a web as she races towards her. Rose Petal uses her Crystal Teardrop to reflect sunlight into Nastina's eyes, making her go off-course and crash the machine.
• In the tie-in book A Matter of Music, Nastina has built an amplifier to play awful sounds whenever Rose Petal starts to sing. P.D. Centipede inspires everyone to go and stop Nastina's amplifier, and he tears out its wires himself before throwing them at her feet.
• In the tie-in book Rose Petal and the Evil Weeds, after being scared by the weeds and taunted by Horace, Rose Petal and her friends decide enough is enough and take down all the weeds in one night.
