Problem Child

  • Junior gets fed up with his awful treatment by the neighborhood kids at a birthday party, capped off by birthday girl Lucy telling him he doesn't even get to watch the magic show. Why? Because he's adopted. Junior then sets a whole new standard for himself ruining Lucy's party - setting off a sprinkler in her room, throwing her gifts in the pool, replacing the birthday candles with firecrackers, and much more. All scored to Lesley Gore's "It's My Party". Bonus points for him being dressed like Satan.
Junior: *thinks back to Lucy saying "You can't come to my magic show!" and smiles* "I have some magic of my own..."
  • Lucy's mom gets one when she threatens to cancel her birthday party if she won't invite Junior. Mind you Junior was very polite when they first meet him, but Lucy decided right then and there not to invite Junior because he’s “gross” since he’s adopted. Until her mother gives the above threat does Lucy change her tune.
  • Junior smacking the shit out of the kids at the baseball game when they badmouth Ben. Although Ben was horrified, it is still pretty impressive to see Junior take on an entire baseball team.
  • Ben finally snapping out of his Heroic BSoD and going to rescue his son from the Bow Tie Killer. On the way he steals his Jerkass neighbor's station wagon just out of spite, and then finally tells off Big Ben for being a godawful father, ruining Big Ben's mayoral campaign in the process. You show 'em, Ben!

Problem Child 2

  • Junior mouths off to the much older school bully, Murph, who is at least twice his size, and doesn't even look the least bit afraid. Murph can't compete with the shit Junior's been through (and instigated).
Murph: What's in your bag? [smashes it] Your diapers?
Junior: No, my lunch, you pinhead! [students scurry away in fear]
Murph: Little kid doesn't know who he's talking to. I'm the senior student in this school.
Junior: Well no shit, you've been here since 1970!
    Murph: OH, YOU'RE GONNA HURT!
    • And then he somehow manages to tape the school bully to the chalkboard. (Quite a bit of Rule of Cool in this movie, in case you couldn't tell.)
  • Every time Trixie outwits Junior, but especially when she gets the drop on Junior in the school hallway and counters his slingshot with a fire hose!
  • If you feel Junior gets away with way too much, Ben making it clear to Junior that he lost his trust is very cathartic. It is a pity Ben chose the wrong moment to disregard Junior's words.
  • Junior and Trixie start a Food Fight (with pizza) to humiliate their shitty principal in front of his date, starting with Junior launching a meatball into the date's cleavage. And that's how these two sociopaths finally became friends!
  • Junior pulled out the big guns, like framing LaWanda for a rabies scare and destroying her face with plastic surgery, and still somehow failed to stop the wedding between her and Ben. So Trixie gets her crowning moment when she uses a backhoe to dump the Love Rock on LaWanda in mid-ceremony. (The fact that Trixie, tiny as she is, managed to operate a backhoe, is awesome in and of itself.)
