Beware of unmarked spoilers!

  • Throné declaring her intent of being free from the Blacksnakes by going after the leaders themselves... and pulling it off in her story, even defeating the immortal progenitor of the Blacksnakes, Claude, who has defeated all comers up to this point.
    • The Mother route of Chapter 2 is one of the shortest chapters in the game, and it doesn't even have a proper battle, but it shows Throné's most courageous side. While other people who are forced to play the Russian Roulette game helplessly struggle against the slaver, Throné drinks two cups in a row, shocking everyone. She then calmly states that she fears more of losing freedom than death itself, and is willing to risk her life to get closer to freedom, and drinks the last cup without poison. Apparently, the slaver could have refused to drink the last poisonous cup, but he is so moved by Throné's dedication that he drinks his own poisonous cup and tells her Mother's location.
  • When Vide battles Aelfric, it seems completely one-sided. Vide has 99 shields to break and eventually reduces Aelfric to one HP...then Aelfric summons the power of the seven other gods to finally turn the tide and win.
  • Benkei proves that his support of Hikari's kingship was not just talk by fending off Mugen's soldiers so that the prince could escape. Not only that, but he survives to join Hikari in retaking Ku.
  • Hikari earning the trust and loyalty of the gladiators after refusing to kill them and fighting Bandelam as a result. The fact that Kazan organized the whole scheme doesn't change how it was Hikari's kindness and strength that turned these people into the allies he will desperately need to save his kingdom.
    • The fact that Kazan planned the whole thing proves that his nickname of "The eagle of Ku" isn't for nothing, either. He knew exactly how the arena worked and used the situation to his full advantage.
  • Osvald has been planning for years on how to escape from Frigit Isle, even keeping track of seemingly-minor details just in case they end up being necessary. He gets the last few details he needs over the course of a few days, and he and Emerald manage to escape even after the warden catches on to their plans. Osvald even manages to create his own boat after things go especially pear-shaped.
  • Agnea defeats the duorduor with only Gus for help. This is after Gus stated that it took far more villagers to fend it off last time one came near the town. Do not mess with Agnea.
  • In Ochette's story, particularly her first and final chapter, the humans living on the same island as the Beastlings, lead by Cohazeh are constantly quarreling with the Beastlings for food and territory. Then in Ochette's final chapter when the night of the Scarlet Moon arrives, while they do at first blame the Beastlings for the ensuing chaos despite their warnings, they soon realize the danger that is afoot, and work together with the Beastlings to fight off the shadow monsters.
    • That's not even the half of it. Ochette's final chapter shows how she is a truly unstoppable force of nature. With minimal aid from Cohazeh and while working back-to-back with Juvah, Ochette just carves a dark swathe through the western reaches of the island, tearing apart dark creatures in her path like it's nothing. An entire army of them hit Juvah's defensive front line like waves assaulting a beach, and Ochette just gets excited at the prospect of getting to fight them. Her successes over them are so overwhelming that she pushes the Shadow monsters back, allowing the party, Juvah, and the Legendary Beasts to press their advantage, getting right to their source.
  • The battle against the Darkling starts with a fully boosted Ochette summoning Acta in its Cateracta form. Not only does it grant the party many buffs, the sprite itself is also very beautiful. Ochette's animal companion also uses a large, detailed sprite instead of their usual, normal-sized one during this fight. Afterwards, these sprites can still be seen if Ochette fully boosts herself and summons Acta or her animal companion.
  • The entirety of Partitio's chapter 3 shows just how amazing Partitio is as a merchant. Over the course of what is implied to be a few weeks or months at best, Partitio's passion and brilliant mercantile ideas steadily change Wellgrove from a merchant backwoods on its last legs to the most bustling commercial hub on the western continent. The best part is that, unlike previous chapters for Partitio and the other characters, Partitio's theme gets to play twice. Obviously, the second time is when he's moving on to confront Roque, but the first use is Partitio going on a trip throughout all of Solistia to places he's been to before, buying a unique item depending on what achievement he mentioned to Alrond (coffee from Tropu'hopu, high-quality paper from Sai, or a local bread from Winterbloom), pocket watches from Clockbank, and workable silver from his own dad back in Oresrush, before returning it all to the very first department store, which he invented. You really get the sense Partitio is an unstoppable force of commerce. The first merchant Partitio helped in Wellgrove even briefly ponders if Partitio is Bifelgan, the God of merchantry himself. And he caps all this off by proving how honesty, passion, and ingenuity are the true paths to success by giving Thurston, who had previously been a boot-licker for Roque, a job proposal as a chance at redemption.
  • In Partitio's final chapter, Roque refuses to honor the contract he signed with Partitio because he did not bring 80 billion leaves in physical coin with him, citing that the check from Alrond isn't sufficient. At that moment, Alrond arrives on a ship crammed full of the 80 billion he agreed to share with Partitio, forcing Roque to honor the deal in front of a crowd of witnesses. Roque, still refusing to give up the rights to the steam engine, rushes into a nearby building and comes out with an armored train armed with a huge cannon, ranting about how only the deserving should be wealthy and that it isn't to be shared. Partitio gives him a Shut Up, Hannibal! speech before wrecking Roque's weapon. Finally defeated, Roque concedes to Partitio, looking as though he wants to burn with his weapon and wealth, but Partitio doesn't just spare him—he asks Roque to be his partner in a new enterprise to connect all of Solistia via the steam locomotive and usher in a new age of prosperity for everyone. Roque is so impressed by Partitio's altruism and vision that he agrees.
  • The fact that Roque manages to build the world's first steam powered tank. Despite their differences in ideologies, Partitio is forced to admire it and admit this is something only Roque's intelligence and ingenuity could do.
  • Castti's actions in Sai turn out to create a massive ripple in western Solistia. By bothering to save Timberain's soldiers despite Edmund's complaints, she allows both sides to see each other as human again, causing the Saians and Timberain's forces to throw down their weapons and refuse to make another move against each other. The Commander in charge of Timberain's forces, Griff, then manages to force a cease-fire by getting the king to see reason, which, by the end of the game, completely ends hostilities between Sai and Timberain. Castti's unwavering determination to save anyone and everyone in need of succor ultimately ends an entire war.
  • The reveal of what honestly, truly happened that earned Eir's Apothecaries the fear of Canalbrine's townsfolk in Castti's chapter 3. It turns out that Canalbrine had it all wrong—Eir's Apothecaries ended up stopping a truly calamitous threat to the Brightlands, each of them giving their lives to ensure their erstwhile ally Trousseau succeeded in killing as few people as possible. While certainly horrific and depressing, each of them stood ready to give their lives for the sake of their credo, truly living up to their ideal of extending a hand to those in need;
    • Randy and Andy are the first to go. Despite being apothecaries and knowing how likely their actions were to be fatal to themselves, the brothers rush Trousseau's bonfire, taking in lethal dosages of Shadow-infused smoke so they could snuff the flame out by throwing dirt and rocks on it. Their actions very likely saved the entirety of the western half of the Brightlands in the long run, considering how the Shadow rain had already reached New Delsta's docks.
    • Elma gave up the coat that was covering her to save Eir's Apothecaries' horse, Jeyah. While seemingly minor, this act is what effectively saves Castti's life, and proves what a truly selfless, noble soul Elma was that she would give her life for an animal she truly, earnestly cared for.
    • Malaya pushes herself beyond the limits of any normal human being, spending what must have been hours in the poison rain, carrying Castti throughout the entire process. Keep in mind, the extra exertion of carrying a person about the same height and presumably weight as Malaya would have likely elicited deeper breaths and haggard respiration, which would have allowed the gaseous aspect of Trousseau's poison to assault Malaya constantly. Despite this, she manages to travel from the top of a small mountain down to Healeaks with Castti on her back the entirety of the trip, before she and Jeyah make the rest of the journey to the docks to get Castti to safety. All this, because she knew that if anyone could stop Trousseau, it would have been Castti, and death itself wouldn't scare Malaya off from saving as many people as she could.
  • After defeating Trousseau, Castti still has to make the cure for the deadly rain. She deftly mixes five ingredients together, then tests the result on herself first to great success. That is fairly normal for a fully-boosted Castti, but the Mercantile Manuscript notes that apothecaries who can successfully mix three ingredients together and have them all take effect are rare enough, that four is basically a legendary accomplishment, and there are no records of anyone performing five. When Malaya said "If anyone can create a cure, it's you", she wasn't kidding.
    • The battle beforehand only makes the moment better. Trousseau, in many respects, represents the overarching villains' credo of nihilism and that the only hope and good in the world is achieved through cutting out any and all physical and emotional pain through the sweet release of death. Castti never once lets his words get to her, and stands as the bannerwoman for the central message of the game: there is always hope, even during the darkest of days. Not only does she defeat Trousseau and form a miracle cure unheard of in its time, she deals a masterful blow to the Moonshade Order's philosophy while doing it, as shown when she proceeds to administer the cure to the few people who weren't alerted to the poison rain in time and save literally everyone in Timberain.
    • Castti gets another awesome moment when looked at from Ori's journal. Not only did she shrug off the Book of Night, the very thing that drove Trousseau to become the monster he died as, but Ori herself notes that Castti is a potentially dangerous wrench in the Moonshade Order's plans. No wonder Vide and his forces spend so much time trying to corrupt her—they recognize that she's an antidote to their poison in the most literal possible sense.
  • In Osvald's final chapter, Harvey has succeeded in creating the Book of Demons, Elena is unconscious after he used her blood, and Osvald admits in travel banters that he doesn't have a concrete plan for taking Harvey down... But then he manages to tap into the One True Magic simply by using his desire to protect Elena, which completely turns the situation around and allows him to win.
  • Despite being an old man, King Jigo Ku takes out several soldiers when Mugen launches his coup until eventually Mugen himself is forced to step in to finally end things. Even then, Jigo made him work for it.
  • Hikari's final boss fight is extremely cool. First, he beats Mugen normally, then conquers his inner curse, and then beats Mugen again even after Mugen turned into the Enshrouded King. It can be difficult if the player goes in unprepared, but it's awesome both mechanically and story-wise.
  • Lady Clarissa gets an Offscreen Moment of Awesome in the final chapter. Ori's journal notes that Clarissa caught Ori spying on Elena when no one had ever managed to sneak up on Ori and catch her unprepared before. This is enough to convince Ori that it's not worth it to keep tabs on Elena anymore.
  • The final battle with Vide is one, with the player having access to all eight characters simultaneously, bringing the player's full arsenal to bear against the dark god. And this isn't like how the eight heroes in the first game fought Galdera — all eight characters are in play at the same time, in the same battle, all working in concert to defeat Vide once and for all.
    • The quotes the characters give when they start their turns (or when fully-boosted) are pretty amazing too, with Throné in particular getting some real Badass Boasts.
Throné: (starting her turn) Even the dawn will be mine!
Throné: (fully boosted) I will fight a GOD if I must!
