Chapter 1: Quinceañera

Chapter 2: The Prophecy

  • Maya managing to turn the tides on Acat during their brawl when the goddess stops to brag about her victory, taking advantage of the distraction to headbutt Acat right in the face, knocking her out cold.
  • Zatz stepping in and viscously reprimanding Acat for trying to kill Maya while she's unarmed and defenseless. And when Acat still tries to attack anyway, Zatz instantly catches her weapons and snaps them into pieces as if they were nothing but twigs in his hands, all without changing expression or tone.
Zatz: You have no honor, Acat...

Chapter 3: The Rooster

  • When the kids in the audience start laughing at a young Rico, Gran Brujo isn't having it and immediately puts the little brats in their place.
  • Rico finally being able to weaponize Rooster magic without it backfiring on him during the fight with the god of earthquakes.
  • Maya; tied up, unable to fight, and about to be sacrificed by Cabrakan, frees herself through wit by provoking Cabrakan into throwing a tantrum, allowing her to slip out of the rope and buying Rico time to come to her aid.

Chapter 4: The Skull

  • Chimi's introduction to the jungle king, showing just how skilled an archer she is.
  • While it doesn't go well for her, Acat's immediate reaction upon being faced with execution is to draw her weapons against Lord Mitclan and try to fight back, cursing that he'll regret it.
    • The Spanish dub makes her cry of defiance even more awesome, where she very nearly calls Lord Mitclan a "son of a bitch" .note
  • During the fight against the wind and storm gods, the main characters are trapped in a tornado. One would think that this would make Chimi's skills irrelevant. Instead, she tells Maya to throw her own sword as high as she can, and then proceeds to use the spinning blade to cut her remaining arrow in half and defeat the two gods at the same time.

Chapter 5: The Puma

  • Maya and Zatz's sparring match among the pillars. At one point, Maya manages to throw Eagle Claw like a frisbee to distract Zatz, only to send rocks tumbling at him while she attacks from behind.

Chapter 6: Maya and the Three

  • Maya defeating Skull.
  • From a visual standpoint, the whole fight definitely counts, including a split "vs." screen showing the two sides for their final showdown.
  • After Chivo wipes the floor with him and preys on his self-deprecation, Rico realized that he mended his staff hoping he would use that instead of peasant magic, because he is afraid of it. United with his friends' support, this is enough for Rico to start unleashing it. If you pay close attention to his fight against Chivo, Rico's winning. And that's before he unleashes the full power of peasant magic.

Chapter 7: The Divine Gate

  • Rico breaks free from Lord Mictlan's mind control and manages to free Chimi and Picchu afterward.
  • Picchu earns his warrior's death by charging head-on against Lord Mictlan and the evil gods.
    • Before that, he manages to stall all the evil gods and destroy the Divine Gate by himself.

Chapter 8: The Bat and the Owl

  • The flashback at the beginning of the episode showing how Zyanya (Zatz's mother) gave her life to protect her husband and son. After ensuring that Camazotz and Zatz are safe, she charges back into the woods towards Mitclan's army with her sword drawn, screaming a Barbarian war cry.
Zyanya: Aquí! Estoy aquí! Come and get some, you monstrous! BARBARIAAAAAAAAAAN!
    • The Spanish dub makes it even more badass, where Zyanya screams "Come for me, you fucking monsters!"note  as she runs back into the woods.
  • The other heroes are able to convince their respective kingdoms to fight Lord Mictlan alongside the Teca. The final shot of the episode is Maya, Rico, Chimi and Zatz charging Mictlan himself.

Chapter 9: The Sun and the Moon

  • Rico utilizing peasant magic to the extreme by getting the golems from each kingdom to come to life in the final battle and later form a gigantic fused golem that destroys Mictlan's own stone minions.
  • Xtabal tries to sway the army of the Jungle Lands to her side by taking on the form of the Widow Queen's father and promising an alliance with Lord Mictlan. The Widow Queen agrees that this is indeed what her father would have done... but the Widow Queen is not her father and promptly orders her army to attack Xtabal.
  • All of Cipactli and Cabrakan's Heel–Face Turn, from them tag teaming with King Teca and Lady Micte in protecting Maya from Mictlan to fighting his undead army, to them remaining Defiant to the End when he kills them. Special mention goes to Cabrakan simply daring Mictlan to do his worse when the latter has the former pinned down with his arms ripped off and Cipactli immediately attempting to avenge her murdered husband.
  • Despite having just given birth to twins, Queen Teca wastes no time in helping her family fight Lord Mictlan.
  • Lady Micte, exhausted, poisoned and dying, uses her power one last time to help Maya in her quest, summoning the spirits of Picchu and Maya's brothers to help her, which allows her to reach Lord Mictlan and enter his mouth.
  • Maya pushing through her injuries and ultimately sacrificing herself to destroy Lord Mictlan.
  • Maya and Zatz's ascension to godhood as the Sun and Moon, complete with their souls transforming to shimmering visages of an eagle and a bat, respectively.
Maya: (narrating) Because of my sacrifice, the Celsetials, in all their wisdom, granted me the greatest of honors. I became the sun! And my true love? Well, he became the moon! We get to dance together forever and ever and ever!
