• The opening fight in Part I as Mario and Luigi battle against Koopa and his forces as they try to prevent his assault, all set to "Liberi Fatali".
• The two "castle siege" scenes, the first being King Koopa's army on Princess Toadstool's castle in Part II and the second being the Toad army's attack on Koopa's castle in Part V. Though they use mostly 8-bit graphics and sound effects, they're both big, grand, and intense sequences. Especially when the two armies converge in the second siege and it turns into all-out war with shells, hammers, and blocks flying everywhere in a spectacle too big to fully take in with just one viewing.
• Mario arriving in the middle of Part V equipped with the Fire Flower, as the sun rises triumphantly.
• The final battle between Mario and King Koopa on the bridge as the castle crumbles around them. The most famous Boss Battle in video game history has never looked more epic. The dramatic orchestral soundtrack certainly helps, too.
• During the final fight, Mario loses the Fire Flower and is left defenseless, and the Princess gives him a mushroom to protect him.
