Ginny gets the chance (that she didn't have in the book or the movie) to use Riddle's diary to beat him up. After what he did to her, it's pretty cathartic.
Cedric does the same, as he is Spared by the Adaptation and gets to help Harry defeated Voldemort upon his revival.
