- Alex taking out all four of the villains via a series of Batman Gambits and Xanatos Speed Chess, with only objects lying around his house, his pet rat, and his brother's talking parrot. By the time the police arrive, three of them have been caught in his traps, and the last one gets caught by the parrot a bit later. No matter what you think of this movie, there's no denying Alex is one badass kid.
- Especially when you consider that, rather than bumbling burglars, the bad guys in question are highly trained spies.
- Alex bluffing the leader into thinking he has taken his gun.
- Alex is the only main protagonist to escape from and defeat the bad guys without any help from another human being. If it weren't for the parrot and Doris, he would have been unaided completely.
- The fact that four full-grown, lethally-trained, intelligent spies who have evaded feds for years were outsmarted and taken down by an 8-year-old. Kevin McCallister would be proud.
