Awesome / Hercules: The Animated Series

Go To

  • "Hercules and the Caledonian Boar": When Herc doesn't kill one of the titular animals when he sees it (not that he was scared—he just couldn't bring himself to do it) and deserts Phil, Nestor, Meleager and Chiron, he eventually runs into Artemis (goddess of the wild), who appoints him as the new protector of the boars in Caledonia.
    • Artemis ends up turning Phil into a boar and he ends up being hunted down by Chiron, Nestor and Meleager (not realizing who he is), but Herc (also not realizing that Artemis had turned Phil into a boar) makes sure to protect him. After managing to succeed into defeating/tying up all three of the heroes, Artemis eventually comes out and turns Phil back into a satyr. Herc and the others are shocked to discover that they were hunting down/protecting Phil.
    • After Chiron makes fun of Herc for being a "flincher" (for not killing the boar earlier in the episode), Artemis comes to Herc's defense by arguing that there's plenty ways for heroes and heroines to prove their worth (and for guys to prove their "manhood") than by hunting/killing animals to the point of wiping out an entire species. She also points out to Chiron (who's a trainer of heroes like Phil is, though Chiron's students were much more successful) how Herc managed to bag three of Greece's greatest heroes, including Chiron himself, to which Nestor, Meleager and Chiron especially get these really sheepish looks on their faces.
  • The climax of "Hercules and the Pool Party" has Herc vow to make Hades sweat once his relatives sweat out the Lethe's waters, and he gets an epic Lock-and-Load Montage where he wields Hermes' shoes, Poseidon's trident, Athena's helmet and shield, Aphrodite's bow, Ares' sword, and one of Zeus's bolts, then faces off against Hephaestus when Hades sics him on him.
  • From the episode "Hercules and the Tapestry of Fate", Herc reweaves time itself. This does some problems, but then Herc owns up to his mistakes and reweaves time again. During the process he earns the respect of the Fates.
  • Croesus tries to buy off Hades, who is so rich his Roman name Pluto means "Rich One". How is this awesome? He succeeds. (Until his check bounced at the end of the episode.)
  • How Aladdin beats Pain and Panic in "Hercules and the Arabian Night" - by using Reverse Psychology to get them to look in Genie's lamp. One second later, Genie's punch sends them flying back to the Underworld.
  • Icarus's mother declares that if Hercules keeps working at being a hero, maybe one day they'll be putting him on a vase... cue the end of the movie, with Hercules on a vase!
  • Odysseus is cunning enough to use a mirror to deflect Hecate's magic in "Hercules and the Disappearing Heroes," and when Hecate steals his intelligence the monster she gives it to does her planning for her.
  • Panic has a Not-So-Harmless Villain moment in "Hercules and the Underworld Takeover" when he fights off Hecate's wolves with nothing but a stick.
  • Darius coming to the rescue of Hercules and Tempest, telling off his wife Hippolyta and getting the wrathful queen of the amazons to back off without even raising his voice.
  • In "Hercules and the First Day of School", Hercules vs Orthos.
