Awesome / Grim Natwick

  • Grim's animation of the Witch in The Thief and the Cobbler. Supremely well drawn, and flawlessly animated, a culmination of a lifetimes experience in animation, as well as the guidance of his student/director Richard Williams. The most stunning thing that he was 90 years old when he tackled this challenge.
  • At one point in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Grim decided to just ditch the rotoscope method for Snow White. The scene of her racing downstairs to check on the soup is all just naturally drawn by him. Walt Disney never found out and singled it out as one of the best examples of human animation in the film.
  • The fact that Grim lived to the grand old age of 100 is pretty awesome in its own right.
