Being tired of the haunted room trolling him after his Despair Event Horizon, Enslin goes through a significant change; not being afraid of the room anymore and tries to destroy it instead of trying to escape from it. Then when the room resets itself, Enslin becomes a stoic, ignoring all the supernatural events afterwards while planning his last move:
Enslin just nonchalantly moves his eyes sideways when the room presents him a Jumpscare illusion of himself being hanged on the noose. The camera shot even focuses on John Cusack's eyes to showcase this when it happens.
While making the molotov cocktail, Enslin delivers this monologue that shows he's done with all the Mind Screw, yet finds some hope:
Enslin: None of these is real... I may not even be real... But this fire? It's gotta be real.
When Enslin decides to burn the room with the molotov cocktail, he yells "GO TO HELL!" Then while the flames grow on his bed, he sits down in the chair for a quiet smoke. When the monster in the air ducts screams, he just says "keep quiet, you bastard". Then he gives his speech to the room:
Enslin:The decor is in tatters. The staff surly. But on the shiver scale, I award the Dolphin...TEN SKULLS!*throws his ashtray at the window, consuming the room in an explosive backdraft*
