  • Nagisa's surprisingly rational and impassioned rant to Gou in episode 19 about how Yaoi Fangirls fetishize the gay community and how gross it is. Even Ko admits that Nagisa was surprisingly astute.
Nagisa: Kou, I'ma be real with you. You gotta know that what you do is, like, kinda gross, right?
Gou: Oh, I'm the gross one?
Nagisa: Yeah, like, you know... fetishizing gay men isn't actually supporting a homosexual relationship as something normal. If anything, it detracts from their efforts. And you can gussy it up all you want, but you still refer to it as stuff like "sinning." Not to mention the fact that most Japanese media involving gay men is hyper-fetishized and marketed mostly to straight women with really trope-y "innocent submissive" and "evil dominant", painting a picture of outed gay men as sexual deviants and closeted gay men as tempted by the forbidden fruit or something. But hell, everything rings false when I say it because I'm depicted as a sexual deviant. [...]
Gou: Huh? But I love gay guys!
Nagisa: Yet you say stuff as if all gay guys are the same. I don't like every other gay guy. I don't even consider myself a gay person, but I'm dating another man. [...] Gay guys aren't all heart-eyes cutesy ships. They have issues, relationship troubles, mental illness, and things that keep them from being happy. They're people, man. Not a commodity for you to collect and flick your bean to.
  • Haru's mental conversation with Rin during their next swim meet, showing once and for all that He's Back!.
Haru: Oh, my longtime friend. You beat me once, and I'm gonna let you have that one. But there's a new Haru in charge here, and it ain't gonna happen again.
    Rin: Wha-
Haru: Oh, excuse me! Sorry to break up this psychic mind meld, but I have a race to win real fast!
    Rin: Who are you?
Haru: Don't you know? I'm Haru.
