• In the first instance of the "Fear Factor Haircut" challenge, two of the three women point blank refused to participate in the challenge. The third woman was more willing, and despite the rather bizarre haircut she ended up with as a result, she and her brother ended up earning at least half of the episode's prize money irrespective of how the final challenge turned out. Turning this into a true Moment of Awesome they then proceeded to win the final challenge, earning the other half of the prize money.

• In Season 2, Episode 14, the final contestants had to lay down inside a tube as it fills with water and once they go under, hold their breath as long as they can. The first contestant, who quit smoking just days earlier, gets an insane time of over 2 minutes and went on to win. Even more impressive is that in breath-holding challenges, Joe tells the contestants how long they've been doing it throughout the challenge so the other contestants would know when they beat the time, yet he still won.
• G. Gordon Liddy from the Celebrity Edition in Season 6 is one of the most badass contestants ever and was one CMOA after another. In the first stunt he survived being slammed over and over into the water and managed to remove nearly all the flags from himself when most couldn't remove more than 2. In the second stunt, he handled every last bit of torture of the isolation pod with a straight face. And he might've won if he hadn't crashed his car. He attributes all of this to having spend 5 years in jail. Even Joe Rogan and the other contestants couldn't help but awe in how tough he was. The most impressive part, he's 75.
• Joe Rogan calling out Cecilia in the Best Friends Fear Factor after she quit 2 challenges without even attempting them. Worst contestant ever indeed.
• Jeff Beisel being the only contestant to compete more than once never to be eliminated in Fear Factor history.
• In the second Couples edition, after dealing with Randy's obnoxious behavior, he and Tina get eliminated and Dean proceeds to rub his elimination in his face. As immature as he acted, it was incredibly satisfying to watch.
