Lucy proving she is most certainly not weak.
  • Ignia making his dramatic entrance during Mercphobia’s berserker rampage and letting Natsu straight-up absorb his own godly flames in order to power him up against Mercphobia. The result is that Natsu eventually decimates the Water Dragon God, whose power was in flux the entire time, going up and down, until he was finally too weak for just a fraction of the power of another Dragon God.
  • The White Mage and her absolute Curb-Stomp Battle of the entire guild (including Laxus) AND Jellal (sans the Strongest Team). She accomplishes this offscreen and is completely uninjured. For someone who appears to be a Non-Action Big Bad, one has to wonder just what sort of power and skills she may have been hiding this whole time that she didn’t get the chance to use against Natsu before Happy nailed her in the back with Aldoron’s orb…
  • Erza vs. mind-controlled Laxus. It's a dream fight of two of Fairy Tail's strongest and it does not disappoint. Laxus is fresh off his victory over Kyria, and continues on to fight Erza, even revealing he's mastered the Red Lightning Mode he used to beat Wahl. To keep up, Erza reveals that she's had Wendy teach her high enchant, using the same magic as her mother to give two swords the attributes of Natsu's Dragon Slaying flames and Gray's Demon Slaying ice, gathering the power of her pseudo-brothers to bring another one back to his senses. In the end, after a brutal two and a half chapter slugfest, it ends in a draw.
    • Which debatably counts as one for Laxus. He'd just come off his battle with Kyria and went up against another high-powered Lady of War, and still, the best Erza could do was a tie. She's even the first of the two to drop, not to mention she wakes up some time after Laxus. Granted Kyria didn't actually damage or push Laxus much, only cutting his shirt off, so he wasn't that disadvantaged going in. Still the fact he disposed of such a foe with ease is truly remarkable.
  • In Chapter 53, Natsu shows there's a thinking brain in there while fighting Wolfen, one of Aldoron's God Seeds who can create multiple copies of itself. If they grab onto someone, they take the form of the strongest being that person can think of. When they finally grab onto Natsu, he grins and tells them to get a good look. Who is it - Gildarts, Makarov, or even Acnologia? Nope. It's Zeref, his brother. His brother who has the Curse of Ankhseram, which kills everything around the person who has the curse so long as they value the lives of those around them. The curse starts killing all of Aldoron's trees while Natsu books it, and may even scale to kill Aldoron itself if left unchecked. Cue Oh, Crap! moment for the clone, who is forced to dispel all of its copies and itself to protect Aldoron and allow its fellow God Seeds to pick up the slack.
  • In Chapter 56, Wendy is in dire straights. The battles over the arc have taken their toll on her and she doesn't have enough magic power left to defeat the God Seed Doom, who can use paralyzing spores to smother his victims and drain their life away. Even worse, Carla has already been caught and her life is on the line. Cue the arrival of several minor Fairy Tail members: Max, Vjeeter, Warren, Nab, Reedus, Laki, and Kinana, ready and willing to throw everything they have at the God Seed to help her. Wendy gives the last of her magic to power them all up, and they proceed to work together to bring the God Seed down. Special mention in particular goes to Warren, who weaponizes his Telepathy to Mind Rape the God Seed, Kinana, who finally gets a chance to show off her magic, and most of all Max, who lands the finishing blow on Doom with a giant sand BFS spell learned from Ajeel Raml himself.
  • Gajeel, made giant by Brandish, slugging it out with Aldoron's main body. For reference, the Wood God Dragon is big enough to have multiple towns on his back. Seeing a veritable kaiju brawl isn't typical Fairy Tail fare, but hell if it ain't a blast to watch, especially as it allows everyone's favorite Iron Dragon Slayer a chance to show off after his loss to Natsu earlier in the arc.
  • The climax of the arc has Natsu going all-out with Dragon Force against God Seed Aldoron, who even despite being weakened by the defeat of the other God Seeds is still a match for him. The two trade physical and verbal blows with each other culminating in Natsu throwing Aldoron's proclamation of godhood, dismissiveness of Puny Humans, and his insults against Igneel back into his face before channeling all his Magic Power as well as that of every fire dragon's fire he's ever consumed (Igneel, Atlas Flame, and Ignia) into his new Finishing Move Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Purgatory Dragon Fire, which punches the God Seed right through the chest and blows him away, followed by creating an explosion that creates a pillar of fire that blasts out of Aldoron's main body huge enough to consume an entire city in circumference and causing the dragon's body to begin to crumble apart. Even Ignia is impressed.
  • In Chapter 75, Aquarius returns with a vengeance, quickly overpowering Lucy even with her enhanced, yokai-powers, giving her some sound (and in this case somewhat deserved) slaps upside the face. Veers into Heartwarming when she then embraces Lucy, and shows her the memories, allowing Lucy to return to normal.
  • In Chapter 76, Natsu, Lucy, and Aquarius catch up to Gray, who is still fighting Wendy, Carla and Happy. Aquarius subsequently forces poison down Wendy's throat, naturally horrifying the others. However, Wendy states that she can simply use her magic to cure herself of any "abnormal conditions," and proceeds to do so... reverting her back to her human form in the process, because her transformed state also counts as a "abnormal condition". Aquarius then reveals that the "poison" she forced Wendy to drink was just regular water. Just goes to show that when she wants to be, Aquarius is quite The Chessmaster.
  • In Chapter 78, with the team outnumbered by the yokai summoned by Youko, on Aquarius' instruction, Lucy proceeds to summon all of her spirits at once for the first time to join the fight. To make things better, she proceeds to use her Star Dress Mix to decimate multiple yokai on her own, demonstrating that despite her own fears, she is NOT weak.
  • Chapters 80 & 81 are basically villainous chapters of awesome for newly introduced Diabolos member Suzaku. After coming off as a hilarious goofball who breaks down laughing at the sight of naked Gray and doesn't realize the gang is Fairy Tail until he says the breakdown of the group out loud, he proceeds to takedown both Natsu AND Erza in one slash each. He then takes on Selene one-on-one, doing far better than anyone else has at fighting a God Dragon alone. He even reveals to have taken the power of the Sword-Saint Dragon, who was apparently notable enough that Selene had heard of him before.
    • Erza also gets one even as she is Worfed, as she successfully reacts to Suzaku's incoming attack, something that surprises the man himself and is only repeated by Selene.
  • Chapter 82 is all about reminding everyone what a God Dragon is truly capable of. As Selene gets serious in her fight with Suzaku, she not only puts the previously unflappable Dragon Slayer completely on the defensive, her power causes high tide flooding on Earthland! She's so powerful that she affects other dimensions as an unintentional side effect!
  • Chapter 83 reminds all of us why Lucy is part of the strongest team. Even though she is outclassed by Mimi in terms of pure physical strength, Lucy uses her wits to defeat her. Knowing that Mimi can stop any water attack by guzzling it down, she summons Aquarius to fill her up and distract her, while having Gemini cast the incantation for Urano Metria, eventually joining the spell herself and finally defeating her. For a Lucy fan, this chapter was the definite acknowledgement of how powerful she has become.
    • Minor awesome moment for Mimi as well, who not only acknowledged Lucy's power and apologized for underestimating her, but also refused to drop down and stood back up, only to admit her defeat and faint.
  • Selene enlarging the moon during her fight with Suzaku to increase the effect of her abilities. The entire world feels her power in those moments.
  • Fairy Tail’s Strongest Team utterly wrecking shop on Alta Face when it tries to destroy them using their own power by making them lose control of the ever-increasing amounts of magic within them, thanks to Wendy turning this around and letting the guild actually use the incredibly over-excessive amounts of magic against the entity.
  • Suzaku lands a devastating blow on Selene and pursues her through a portal so he can drag her back to his guild... only for Selene to reveal that she was pretending to be defeated in order to get close to Guild Master Georg Raizen, a man far more powerful than even Suzaku. He prepares to use his abilities on her to kill and consume her... And then she transforms and splatters him all over his own guild floor with a single stomp, having instantly healed herself completely. She then returns to her human form and states that killing the previous Master makes her the new one, and when Kyria tries to attack her, she casually portals her to another dimension, horrifying the vast majority of Diabolos. They are forced to comply, although three of the four Dark Dragon Slayer Knights do so readily without complaint, and Selene, a Dragon God, becomes the Guild Master of Diabolos, a guild notorious for eating dragons whole.
  • Selene's revelation soon after that she is aware the age of dragons is ending as less and less of them remain, and that her goal is to stand atop the world as the most powerful human.
  • Elefseria in his younger days managed to fight and kill a sixth Dragon God known as Dogramag, the Earth Dragon God. Dogramag may have been weaker than the rest, but he still managed to take Elefseria's heart before dying.
    • Elefseria surviving without the heart in and of itself due to his nature as a Dragon / Dragon Slayer is incredible.
  • Selene showing off her power once again when she brings 7 members from both Fairy Tail and Diabolos to the Great Labyrinth of Dogra, created by Dogramag's magic power and persisting long after his death, and commands they retrieve Elefseria's heart for her in a team battle. She will all too happily battle anyone who wants it once the heart is hers. To further twist the knife in, she effortlessly seals Elefseria away in another dimension so that now the heroes have no choice but to comply.
  • Wendy vs. Dark Dragon Slayer Knight Haku. After she manages to No-Sell his doll transformation magic, the two of them fight properly and she proves herself capable of keeping up with him even after he reveals his Super-Speed and manages to seemingly incapacitate Irene's spirit. Eventually, with Irene providing some help, Wendy becomes the first to take down a Dark Dragon Slayer Knight with Shattering Light: Sky Drill in her Dragon Force, with Irene herself admitting that all the spells Wendy and Irene herself used in this fight were solely based on Wendy's own magical might and stating she's now worthy to call herself a "High Enchanter".
  • Ignia's arrival at the labyrinth in Chapter 100. He's strong enough to melt the seemingly-indestructible walls of the Labyrinth with simply his presence when both Natsu and Suzaku could only, at most, leave various scratches and scuff marks, stating calmly that only a dragon can achieve such a feat. Even Selene looks nervous at what he might be here for.
  • Chapter 101 opens with Selene dismissing Elefseria’s Crow and calmly walking towards the Labyrinth herself, stating in an awfully coy way that her dying to Ignia might be a possibility, but it isn't going to stop her from giving him hell regardless. With a cool smirk, she adds, "Only a Dragon God can stop a Dragon God."
  • The very same chapter shows us yet again how much Natsu and Lucy both embody the role of The Determinator. Ignia dismisses his foster brother as too weak to take him on, and Natsu charges forward and gives him a fire blast anyways. Ignia states that Natsu is merely playing with fire, and true fire magic is that of noble destruction - then he blows an enormous hole through the top of the labyrinth without batting an eye. Natsu sees this firsthand and still refuses to stand down. Suzaku suggests that, if Natsu is willing to do anything to save his loved ones, he'll learn to partner with others such as himself. Natsu agrees to this deal. At the same time, Lucy continues her fight with Kyria, and all the while their clothes are starting to dissolve... not to mention Kyria cut Lucy's off. Lucy just turns the Running Gag that always happens at her expense right on its head by using the Cancer Star Dress and giving Kyria a taste of her own medicine. The embarrassed look on Kyria's face and the smug one on Lucy's just seals the deal.
  • Lucy manages to avoid being dealt a fatal blow from Kyria by whipping out Gemini and Horologium simultaneously. Then, after Star Dress: Aries doesn't shield her from Kyria's ability to cut anything, she performs Star Dress Mix: Aquarius x Gemini while summoning Virgo to protect a weakened Laxus. Virgo warns her that this transformation will last only 16 seconds, but that is just long enough for Lucy to distract and confuse Kyria with water copies of Lucy and her friends and buy herself the time she needs to recite an incantation. You'd think it would be Urano Metria, but no- Gottfried. It's the amazingly powerful but self-harming spell that she learned with Yukino and Hisui in the anime-only Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc, rendering the arc canon. Lucy utilizes so much magic power as a buffer that she can handle the casting of the spell unharmed (though fully uses up all her Ethernano) and absolutely demolishes Kyria! She even makes water copies of Yukino and Hisui because it takes at least three people to use Gottfried, so she replicates the assisting Celestial Spirit Mages from before. Lucy has become so strong that she can do all this by herself and with the bonds she's forged!
  • Once Laxus fully regains his senses, he sees Lucy and Kiria lying motionless on the ground and realizes just how powerful the former has become going by the state Kiria is in. He's one proud guild member.
Laxus: You got real strong... Lucy.
    • The difference between Lucy and Kiria by the end of the fight is astounding. Lucy avoided harming herself with her last attack and passed out due to her prior injuries and the exhaustion of casting the spell and is sleeping with a peaceful look on her face. Kiria... let's just say that her charred figure, Blank White Eyes, complete lack of clothing and smoke rising from several tender sections of her body indicates that she won't be getting back up any time soon, if at all.
  • Erza has Gray and Gajeel stay out of a fight with Diabolos Mage Misaki, saying that she alone will be enough.
    • Misaki sends both of them to her Blue Dimension, where Erza loses her mobility and Misaki inflicts 5 seconds worth of damage. When they leave that place, Erza suffers the effects of time displacement and takes 5 hours of damage all at once.
    • Her guildmates try to step in, but this is Erza we're talking about. Even after that, Erza rises again and reiterates that she is enough.
    • Misaki returns Erza to Blue Dimension to face a 24-second onslaught, a day's worth of suffering, but Erza retorts that she's been tortured longer than that (taken prisoner by Zeref cultists, and chained up in Tartaros) and uses her magic armor parts to force her body to move at will and strikes Misaki with Heaven's Wheel: Blumenblatt. It's the first time in the whole manga that Misaki has lost even a little composure; she smiled and didn't even flinch when Ignia's devastating heat expanded all over the labyrinth!
    • Later on, Erza uses her own dimensional powers to turn Blue Dimension RED and nails Misaki even harder than before, sending her spiraling off while unable to even yell properly out of pain and shock!
  • Selene and Ignia’s long-awaited showdown. The two Big Bads of the manga giving it their all in dragon forms and blasting away at each other with such force that the walls of the labyrinth crumble instantly while doing so.
  • Dogramag making the mother of all dramatic entrances and revealing himself to be alive after all these years! Ignia is so delighted to see his Only Friend that he and Dogramag completely ignore the injured Selene while chatting, which turns out to be absolutely to their detriment…
  • Selene WALKING OFF the Impromptu Tracheotomy that Ignia gave her during their dragon battle and continuing to scheme to derail his and Dogramag’s plans — by using Fairy Tail themselves to destroy the rest of the cores around the labyrinth, which could severely cripple Dogramag! Ignia really should have killed her when he had the chance, because now he’s gonna regret it big-time…
  • Natsu and Suzaku working together to battle Dogramag, who states that he’s been Brought Down to Badass from decades of sleeping and so needs time to regain his power… yet Natsu and Suzaku combined can’t so much as scratch his human form. It truly goes to show that these monsters are called Dragon Gods for a reason.
    • This also counts as yet another Moment of Awesome for Selene, who was such a good actress that she actually managed to convince Suzaku that he WON their fight in the previous arc, and even though she was in human form and showed visible injuries, she made them disappear instantly upon transforming. It makes one wonder if she was truly injured at all to begin with, given that Dogramag (someone supposedly weaker than her) is now taking zero damage from similar attacks.
    • Even after destroying his cores, Dogramag still proves too strong to for Natsu and Suzaku, as even though they can now break his rock, he's just that tough and nearly encases them in crystal. How do they manage to finally injure him? Suzaku gives Natsu his sword and they conduct a Unison Raid, the Fire Dragon Slash. Doubles as heartwarming since a Unison Raid usually requires a strong bond between the casters, demonstrating that Natsu and Suzaku, despite belonging to enemy guilds, have become Fire-Forged Friends via their battle with Dogramog.
  • Selene notes that one of the remaining two cores is missing. Who turns out to have it? Who’s already back on her feet even though she was hit point-blank with Gottfried and looked like she’d be out cold for a long time? KIRIA, who swallows her pride and lays aside all her differences with the guild that has now scored three victories over her, shattering the penultimate core just by crushing it in her fist. She proceeds to state that she cares about Suzaku and sees him as her friend, earning her actual respect from Laxus. She even shows concern for Selene when the latter exhausts herself with all the portals she’s been creating. Oh, and she recovered Laxus’s coat (which is completely intact) so she actually still has something to wear. Also doubles as heartwarming because her actions here show that she isn’t entirely heartless and actually has some good in her.
    • Kiria and Gajeel destroying the final two cores are what allows for Natsu to actually start damaging the Earth Dragon God for real. Props to them for doing the job just in the nick of time.
  • The Unison Raid actually KILLS Dogramag for good, only for the entire Labyrinth to crumble apart along with the Load-Bearing Boss himself. Natsu and Suzaku are in deep trouble until someone comes along to save them both. MISAKI, who uses her powers to hold up the entire collapsing ceiling as the rubble falls towards them! She assures them nobody’s getting left behind, and she already made sure that her allies got to the exit. Haku, who tagged along with her, turns Natsu and Suzaku into dolls, and they all manage to escape. The look of pride and relief on everyone’s faces, Kiria included, is priceless.
  • Natsu deducing that everyone had it all wrong up to this point regarding who should be defeated, killed, sealed, etc. It doesn’t matter if the individual is human or dragon, it’s what’s inside their heart that truly counts.
  • Selene gets yet another moment for being back up to full health after a short time resting in bed and covered in bandages. The reveal in Chapter 119 that she’s completely healed as well as her Badass Boast that dragons like her have an impressive Healing Factor is sublime. Clearly, Ignia paid dearly for Underestimating Badassery (he assumed her to be dead and instead she indirectly caused the destruction of his best friend and ally) and Selene’s payback is just beginning. She also proves to have extremely valid points when she discusses the hypocrisy of humans slaughtering innocent dragons being seen as okay, whereas it’s only a bad thing if a dragon such as herself kills innocent humans.
