Awesome / Dot and the Kangaroo

Go To

A series of movies about the adventures of a young Australian girl is bound to have awesome moments.

Dot and the Kangaroo:

  • The Red Kangaroo song.
  • Kangaroo jumping a chasm to escape the dingos.

Around the World with Dot:

  • Dot and Danny/Santa traveling the world on a sleigh pulled by two kangaroos.
  • Grumble-Bones fighting a dragon to protect Dot. Granted, it turns out to be a kite, but still...
  • Walter the Mouse singing I love to walk around New York.
    • Dot reprises this song in Dot Goes to Hollywood. A shame we never got to hear the full version of it.

Dot and the Bunny:

  • Funny-Bunny playing a banjo in Dot's dream.
  • Dot and Funny-Bunny's flight with the Flying Fox after he rescues them from the crocodiles.
    • Dot also deserves some credit in this respect for just being brave enough to stand up to the crocodiles in order to try to rescue Funny-Bunny herself.
  • Dot and Funny-Bunny riding a sea-turtle and an emu. Funny-Bunny is clearly the happiest he's been throughout the movie when riding the latter.

Dot and the Koala:

  • Dot and Bruce masterminding the (ultimately successful) plan to destroy the dam, whether Sherlock Bones believes it or not.

Dot and Keeto:

  • The possum enlisting Kangaroo's help, despite him being nervous about what happened to Dot.
  • The insect-sized Kangaroo battling a spider to save Dot and Keeto.

Dot and the Whale:

  • The depths of the ocean opening sequence.
  • Tonga being airlifted to safety with Dot standing on her head.

Dot and the Smugglers:

Dot Goes to Hollywood:

Dot in Space:

  • Dot managing to operate a rocket and rescuing Whyka (in spite of the mistakes she made along the way).
  • The whole film could have been an hour of Break the Cutie with Dot on the receiving end, especially once she and Whyka realise they are on Pie-Arr-Squared and stranded as well as during the interrogation scenes and when it looks as though Gorgo is going to eat Dot but ultimately, this was averted.
  • Dot escaping the Prison for Squaries by tricking the Roundy Sergeant into thinking she's painting a line on the ground to divide the Squaries and the Roundies, as inspired by Poley's flashback on how Papa Drop rose to power.
  • Dot, the Party (a.k.a. Papa Drop's own son Roley), Gorgo and the reformed Roundy army (with the possible exception of the Sergeant) confronting Papa Drop and freeing the Squaries, and Papa Drop getting his well-deserved comeuppance for everything he has done prior to the events of the film.
  • The Reveal that The Party is none other than Papa Drop's own son, Roley!
